Hi...hope you don't mind one of the oppostion calling in:p but I would appreciate some help with OS healthy eating plans.

I've read a half dozen or so pages to the thread, & will try to read the rest soon:o My biggest hurdle is having three 6' offspring to feed, one of whom has a physically demanding outside job.

I cook from scratch & use low fat/sugar/salt alternatives where possible & we have semi skimmed milk.
3 eat shredded wheat; 2 eat weetabix; 1 has oatabix for a change & we all have cornflakes occasionally
3 have porridge made with oats & water[not ready stuff!]
2 eat eggs; 2 eat bananas; we all eat pears, apples, sats etc
I'm the only one who enjoys a good casserole/stew, so we don't have them as often as I'd like:o
    3 eat curry

I look forward to catching up on your tips & recipes! Happy New Year & Good Luck with the weight loss...

I can't much more than three pieces of fruit in a day or I get really bad wind and runs - it's just how I am made I suppose. I am the same with too many vegetables - I know some people who can eat loads and loads of fruit and veg but not me!

Evening everyone and welcome to the new ones :-)

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to a fresh new year...

Took sis for her chemo and 7 hours later we got back.... no wonder sis ends up climbing the walls -all that waiting around whilst they decide if she is or isn't having it... still we had a laugh :-)

Thankyou for the lovely comments on taplady + myself being OS slimmers of the year... i will try not to let my crown slip lol... although im sure frogga will be right behind me trying to knick it by losing loads :-)

Im sat here all excited... mum had a sale leaflet for her catalogue so i picked 4 tops for spring/summer as most of my stuff is now just looking baggy and out of shape. I thought i would be optomistic and order smaller than i thought i needed so they would be wearable in a couple of months... well they arrived today... and being impatient i thought i would see how close they were to fitting!!!! and they only blooming well fit me now eekkkkk.... i ordered 20s so im amazed -and ontop of that they are fitted too.... so i have lost a whole 4 dress sizes WOOHOOO.. and it only cost me £17 for them all... it was so nice to pick things i liked rather than looking at the available sizes first to see what would fit!!!

So as soon as i get home all the stuff that is too big is going -even though i haven't worn some of it ARGHHHHHH
So if anyone on here can make use of some clothes -mainly 26/28s some that haven't even been worn please feel free to PM me...
Even if they just tide someone over until they drop a size or two.... if not i guess i will have to ebay them...

well i will get off for now...
Have a great new year everyone.. and i will see you all in 2008 -which WILL be our year for slimming down :-)

Have to say i eat heapppps of fruit n veg... but it has not "effect" as i have the constitution of a donkey :-)

Right, start as I wish to go on, I'm in, properly, time to give this a go, need to get rid of some of the excess. Lost weight over Christmas with being ill so maybe in a way that makes me lucky. I had started loosing weight last year but then stayed the same for a while.

    Right, where do I sign?

    Happy New Year :D

(PS I've only read a small amount but well done everyone :D)
One day I might be more organised...........
