As the absolutely fabulous original frogga has weighed herself, is she a smaller frogga than at the start of the challenge?
If so, well done...
you can begin to look at all the smaller sized lily-pads to land on, without falling off.

Have really enjoyed reading this thread and love the OS concept of losing weight so would love to join in. I'm filled with trepidation really I'm more than a tad overweight and hoping that I can syphon off some of your determination.
Any tips gratefully received as I'm in for the long haul. Am expecting this to take around 2 years to shift as I've rather a lot to lose. Ho hum, gotta start somewhere.
I'm on a tinsy budget but love to cook, so can't see why I can't turn that into a positive and try to cook myself slim.
Very impressed with your achievements. Well done you lot.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Welcome cheerfulness ~ wait til MrsM comes on , she'll have loads of good advice xx
I'm back on track on Tues 1st as I'm still being a bit of a piggy
My basic principles that were working well are:
- Biking to work and back (5 miles each way)
- Fruit only for breakfast, but lots of it
- Breakfast , lunch and dinner with morning and afternoon snacks to keep me going
- Not eating later than 6pm
- No binging

Hi frogga and MrsM - Thanks for the welcome.
I've spent all morning reading back on this thread and I'm still on page 17! It's really zinging me up because I realise there are a fair few in my boat, maybe not quite so much to lose (need to realistically drop 10 - 11 stone). The knees have had enough.
If you do have any recipes to share that would be really helpful. We live on mince dishes really for cheapness, spag bog, lasagne, moussaka, and chicken stew. Love them all but am getting so bored with them.
MrsM - I was reading in one of your posts way back that you made beef and onion spread for lunches. When you get back to Germany would you post how you make that? Lunches really let me down so looking for new, different ideas. Thanks.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hya folks
A lovely day, the sun is shining and me and my family are gradually recovering from the Christmas lergy. DH and both boys are off to the Gloucester vs Bristol rugby match this afternoon, so I have an empty house for a few hours...weeheee!:j:j
I have to get my neighbour's pension today as well as a few bits of shopping...I haven't been out for over a week. I'm actually looking forward to it! I might check out the reduced Christmas cards....we used up all of ours this year.
Rockie4 my hubby is also an amateur astronomer! (co-ordinator of Cotswold Astrosoc, and committee member of FAS and BAA, no time to spell them all out!). We too have a Dobsonian...20 inch, housed in an observatory DH built in the garden. It is the first one he's had that he didn't build, though he is in the process of rebuilding it to make it more portable...v big at the mo!
Food today:
Breakfast: Muesli, soya milk + OJ
Break: HM flapjack...one piece...honest!
Lunch: HM veg soup, cheese (lots!) with some biscuits (too many)
Break: ?
Tea: HM Prawn & Courgette curry (DH an expert curry-maker), brown basmati rice, then possibly some chocolate birthday cake (DS1 18 yesterday and friends coming back after rugby match)
Also trying out the various OS spreadsheets for menu-planning/shopping-list-making, does anyone have a preference?
I am amazed how low some folk can keep their weekly food bills...I know I do a lot of home-baking and cooking, but I still have rather large bills at Mr T and Mr M...I will trawl through our bills the next month to see just what we overspend on.
What with DS1 going to Uni in September, money will be tight...to say the least! We would also like to have a bit of a holiday in 2008, it could well be the last we have together as a family.
So not much to plan for this coming year!
Will pop in soon

Hey there
I've been going to Weight Watchers (am I allowed to say that? Other slimming organisations are also available!) but I wouldn't if I had to pay £5.50 a week to be told I'm too fat
Instead I get paid as a helper, so it's actually very MS as long as you don't buy the ridiculously overpriced chemical rubbish they pass off as food. Just knowing I have to face the scales each Monday keeps me on the straight and narrow over the weekends :A . If anyone is interested in joining a slimming organisation I would recommend trying to get in as a helper - they say they don't take new people on immediately but I hadn't been a member before so you never know.
For the first time in my life I haven't become obsessed with what I eat, so I think I might actually succeed this time. The basic nutritional principles are sound, and cooking and eating OS in line with those principles doesn't let you get swept along with the 'diet food' culture, you just learn to eat sensibly and have a bit of a treat whenever you want it. And I'm using up all of my veg box now, with all the manky last bits making a wonderful soup which serves as lunches to take to work. :T
I lost a stone before Christmasbut I expect a lot of that has gone back on over the holiday:mad: , never mind it will go again in a few weeks. I'm not in a hurry.
Good luck to everyone on the board who is trying to become healthier, slimmer or both. It will be interesting to hear successes and disasters as we go along.:beer:Oh dear, here we go again.0
