i tentivley wieghed myself today and while i have not lost any wieght over christmas i (to my total suprise) have not gained any either. as a veggie in a carnivourous family i am expected to provide my own xmas dinner at the traditional family gathering - usually i make an extravagant nut roast (mega cals) but this year i went for a more calorie frugal stuffed red peppers (fat free filling) i was able to have a small slice of pudding - to stuffed for any more - satisfied me as i love chrissie pud!! and i didnt skimp on the wine either!!!! i have had a couple of days off wagon and this morning i jumped on the scales with a sense of dread but feel good about staying the same over the festive season. been good 2day had yoguht for brekkie, marmite on toast for lunch (a couple of snacky biscuits) and cauliflower cheese and jacket potatoe for tea (yum) now the festivities are over i will be better with planning meals and drink less (alot less). some nice friend gave me a meduim xmas cake - brill - its now residing in my freezer - cant eat frozen iced cake - and will only appear when i have enough visitors to do it justice. long will the willpower continue.
i hope you all had a great xmas and are looking forward to being thinner (at some point) next year.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Evening everyone
Taplady.. did you get a bit of xmas pud? i had some earlier-my first bit..woohoo...yumyumyum :-)
only had a little bit of a low fat one - but it was M&S so it was very nice - with a wee bit of brandy cream on mmmmmmmmm
At one time i would have had the whole thing..and then some.. its my ultimate favourite food.... closely follwed by avocado hehe
Well mum gave me some bathroom scales today - that brother set up and then said was broken (which means he messed up the programming)... mum said if i knew how to work them i could have them as she got some new ones...
I got them working :-) they tell you the body fat (not sure i wanted to know) and how much water, muscle etc you have...
The best bit is a little icon of a figure and when you stand on the little person swells like a balloon being pumped up -according to your weight-when its at its fullest it then goes back to tiny and starts again -only it makes it look like it is swelling until it bursts... i nearly wet myself laughing.... not that i should as i was talking about me LOL
Sillyvixen..well done on not gaining any weight over the festivities :-)....
will talk to you all soon..take care everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi everybody,
Wish to God that all the carp and sweet stuff was gone, then there would be no temptation.
Have decided to give myself a goal of half a stone a month, so starting Tuesday I hope to have lost two and a half stone by the time we head for Oz at the end of May, will have to up my exercise and watch my portions as I lost absolutely nothing in the first part of this challenge!
Frogga...you can always do a cottage garden thing and plant your veggies among your flowers...looks quite well and if you fill the beds enough you will cut down on necessary weeding. You could do some square foot gardening too, as you can use small spaces, but some nice big containers will do just as well.
Mrs MC....I am looking forward to the new year and starting over too....trouble is that I will have an increased household for next three months...my friend and her baby until end January and DD2 and her little girl until whenever her new baby arrives (edd 05 Feb) and she gets all the legalities sorted...she will have to have a passport for baby to take it back to London.
Good luck to all

I'd like to join in, if it's ok- I'm so huge it's beginning to really get me down-worried about diabetes etc(no symptoms but feel that it's a real danger as I get older.) Beginning to get rheumatism in my knees, sure it's the extra weight. Not much time for exercise, but real problem is my addiction to nibbling constantly. Hoping to make a difference in 2008 and good luck to everyone else too.0

Morning All , (except Taplady
)
Honestly, anyone would think I was really childish the way tappy and MrsM go on , how silly(   )
Welcome iwanna ~ hope you find this thread helpful , although to be honest you have to pick and choose who you take advice from (MrsM and Taplady know nothing! I mean , just because they've both done better than anyone else on here they think they can knick the top spot!)
Meanmarie ~ hi Gran ~ Do you meen by cottage garden that I put veg amongst the flowers? Oooooooooo sounds interesting. The garden is a cottage garden , FULL of Lupins, foxgloves, Sunflowers, Delphiniums et.c It is crammed with stuff , but I could squeeze some bits in spare places . what shall I start with?
Silly vixen ~ well done for not gaining . That's as good as a loss in my eyes :T
Rockie ~ only 3 more days before 2008 so we can put all of last years emotional eating behind us xxx
oddjob ~ welcome , I hope the rambled posts on here are of some help to you
Hi juliejim, kleiss and floyd :hello:
MrsM and Tappy ~ I have nothing to say to you two ~
Only Joking , hope both my pals are having a great day !:kisses3:
Weighed myself this morning. Was expecting it to be really dreadful as I havent checked on my weight for WEEKS! However , although it was NOT GOOD , it was nowhere near as bad as I had expected :T So I am now really quite possitive about next year as it wont take me as long as I thought to loose it all!:j
Have a good day peeps xxxxSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
