AWE...is the only way to describe your restraint Mrs MC...congratulations on surviving the family pressure too!
We had a nice day yesterday with brother....15 all told and I did a roast lamb for my return match to-day....only had six adults and two children as most of the others have headed off to Cork and Kerry and poor DDIL is suffering from flu, so hasn't left her bed to-day, have some chicken soup on cooker to help her recovery, not sure if she feels like it to-night.
Not really been stuffing myself as I normally would, but seem to have got back to the 14st 2 lbs I was in September or October, so will be starting from scratch next Tuesday....although several of my presents were clothes which fit me now so that it one little incentive gone...I had said no clothes but do they listen?? Still got some lovely books and vouchers and more Australian dollars for the big trip so should be grateful...there was also a lovely hamper containing among many other things 6 bottles of wine...nice!
Got to get back to my knitting to-night as there are less than six weeks to go until DD2's baby is due so that is the aim for now.
Love to all

Morning All,
Going to be busy "sorting stuff out" today :T
Want to :- Clear out my car, empty it of anything useful and put that into Mr Frogs car. We have decieded to go down to 1 car in the new year and my car will run out of MOT in March so might as well get used to it now. Also figured if it was gone I would HAVE to bike to work!
- Empty the garage of all those jars , tins, pots and tubs I've been saving because they might come in handy and take them to the recycling depot.:D
- Clean out Tadpole 1's Guinee pigs as a suprise so she doesn't have to do it when she gets up:D
- CHUCK any food that's in the fridge that only I will eat. Now I know that goes against EVERYTHING o/s , but there is food in the fridge that I bought for myself that the others wont eat. If I don't get rid of now I'll end up eating it all
Can't feed it to the dogs so it's going in the bin ~ Sorry
- Take the Whippies for a LONG walk as they have been a bit neglected this week and only had little short ones
Do you get the feeling I'm bored?
Wont be joined by Mr Frog or the Tadpoles for hours yet as they were playing a game together until 1.30 am !!!!!!! Yes, 1.30 !! Rid i cul ar*e !!!! !!!
Have a good day all , post again later xxxxxxxxxxxSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Hya folks
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and didn't over-indulge too many times!
Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS M!
I have been lurking for a week or more lately, trying to catch up with all the posts...then when I tried to post a reply, machine would throw me off! That and the mayhem that is Christmas of course!
Last time I posted I was due to go to my local work's Christmas lunch...failed as I was throwing up all night. Recovered from that only to come down with the dreaded lergy on Christmas Eve. I am still sot of recovering...thought I was okay yesterday, but after cleaning the bathroom sink, doing two machine washes (and hanging them out) and making a huge pot of soup for lunch, I crumpled into a painful heap for the rest of the day...aaargh!
Still my DH has his mum here to help him (and me)...they made a great Christmas dinner (Royal Roast...scrummy!), although they didn't use our Christmas table-mats or tablecloth and we forgot the crackers...I was too far gone to notice! We did pull our crackers yesterday, which was great, as we had our left-overs tea...I could actually taste the food this time.
We hadn't planned for either starters or pudding as our boys aren't fussed and we always overeat. I didn't even buy in some cream this year...! As it was no-one felt like anything on Christmas Day...it was cheese and crackers in the evening after Dr Who! Yesterday we all had some Carte D'Or icecreams (quite a range, bought when reduced at Mr Ms), and that was enough. My boys had theirs with HM flapjacks crumbled on top!
So will all these illnesses I could well end up not putting on much weight this festive time...we'll have to see come the big weigh-in next Monday.
My MIL is off back home today...not sure if I am up to going into town with DH to take her. We planned on going shopping afterwards..getting a cake for DS1a 18th tomorrow....etc..not to mention getting something for me...
DH is a wonderful man and we have been married 24 years...but the only presents I openend on Christmas day from the family, were ones I bought and wrapped! I was really hurt that DH had not even got me one little thing (we were cutting down this year). Even printed vouchers promising to do all the little jobs around the house and garden would have been wonderful. Does this sound petty on my part? I got him a DAB clock radio (I have been after one for years), some M&Co clothes (in a sale), the last Rebus book and a CD. He apologised and said he was planning on taking me out and getting me what something I wanted. Oh well at least he has a plan!
Must go now as the family are stirring.
Will drop in another day soon.
Apologies if I sound sorry for myself!

HI keiss 21 , Dont feel bad about him not getting you anything your love & marriage is worth far more than a a bought gift and dont get sucked into the thingy where you think its a thing that has to be done because other couples do it. Besides sounds like he made you a delicious dinner along with his mum. Me & my hubby said to each other we wouldnt get each other anything and he got me a dvd film and I didnt get him anything. I just said to him that he shouldnt have got me that as i had not got him anything and it made me feel a little guilty even though it was just a dvd . We are not mean its just that what with everything else other things took the priority.Like kids pressies , dinner etc. It was a beautifull dinner . Its all the little things that add up , things that money cant buy xxxxxxxx2012 - Emergency savings fund goal by December 2012 £3000.000

Hello everyone - Hope you are having a good day. Keiss - don't feel bad at feeling upset that you hadn't got a present - but men are notorious for not thinking that sort of thing is important and Frogga is right - 24 years of happy marriage is above worth IMO.
I am not having the best day due to DD1 and her antics. She went out last night and didn't come in and wouldn't answer her phone or let us know where she was - this is becoming more and more of a problem and when we demand to know where she has been she gets abusive. Anyway she came in at around 5.30am and went straight to bed (she was drunk) and didn't stir until 12.30 when I made her get up for lunch. Last night I went through all my finances and decided on a course of action to get myself out of debt and into a better financial regime and I also had a good think about how I was going to approach food in the New Year. I decided that I am going to perservere with the no-diet type approach, but to try and eat more fruit and veg and to get the kids to eat more fruit and veg too. So today I did a big salad for lunch with hm coleslaw, pickles and home cooked boiled ham, followed by a lovely fresh fruit salad with some fresh cream. DD1 was not in favour of this and spent the whole of lunch on her phone which drove me mad and then when I asked her if she was going to get down to some revision all hell broke loose - she ended up throwing a glass of water all over me because I refused to shout back at her when she was ranting and then I said to her that if she didn't buck up her ideas she was going to be a loser and that was the final straw - she flipped and said that she couldn't be more of a loser than me - fat, fortysomething, out of work, husband left her and lots more insults too and it was made all the worse because ex OH had just come round - It has really upset me. I am out of work, but for 24 years I worked full time in a senior civil service post before being made redundant last year, and I have a heart problem which means that I can't work until I get it fixed. I feel that I have nowhere to go with her at all - she is so nasty.
Anyway I went out to the kitchen and threw out all of the Christmas food because I don't see why I should provide her with food which is difficult for me to have around. It really goes against the grain to throw away so much food but I have done it now..... So now we only have "healthy" stuff left and if she doesn't want to eat it then tough. DD2 is so different - oh well I have gone on far too long and sorry for boring you all to tears with my problems.Jane
