    Evening ladies:hello:

ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!........That's better, back from doing my 'big shop'. Swore I wouldn't go to Asda again but it's the nearest to the train station.......I WILL NOT GO AGAIN!!!!!! Prices have gone up, no stock, gaps on the shelves.......it was pouring with rain, I had to wait ages for a taxi and now I'll have to go to Tesco in the morning for a 'top-up'
But I have been good, I had a bag of snakajacks before leaving work and a few grapes on the train and made my stuffed mushroom - a monster:eek: it was, with garlic and herb wedges - cooked while I stowed the shopping.
I'm now sat here with a glass of wine and feeling calmer.

Frogga - Brilliant news on the PE kit and no, it's ok, you can hang on to the 3lbs, I don't want it back :rotfl:

MrsM - I think you're right, it's because I relaxed and ate what I wanted. He's in a better mood now, he even admitted I was right.......shame I didn't have a tape recorder at the time....:rotfl:
I always use a basket if I walk to the supermarket, you know then how heavy it is before you get to the checkout.

Elijay - hello  and thanks for the tips!! It's honey that I eat from the jar oh, and peanut butter.....

Everyone else - well done on the losses and to those who gained don't worry it will come off next week, you're just taking the scenic route :T

    Morning All,

What a horrid night I just had! It was SO WINDY here and to make things worse Mr Frog was out all night in his Lorry  It's horrible to think of him out in it and I dread him having an accident. He phoned at 3.30 am from a layby on the M4 as he had to stop for 45 mins break. He knew I would be awake and worrying  Anyway he is now back in Felixstowe unloading , so thank heavens!

Rockie ~ I REALLY hate the "big shop" too. I have been tempted to buy it all online and have it delivered but I am reluctant to try it in case I'm not happy with the stuff they choose.

elljay ~ you have slotted into the gang very nicely :T Glad you're here x

Kitty ~ glad you had a nice day, I love mince pies. I even make my own mincemeat , although I didn't this year. I usually make about 20 jars and give them as pressys to ladies at work and neighbours et.c I decieded this yoear to STOP overspending and going OTT with pressys so I didn't make any. If anyone want the recipe I'll post it:D

hellsbells (sorry, that's what you are in my head!) Well done on the trousers :T

 Hi piggy, juliejim, newlywed, taplady,Marie and good ald MrsM xxxx:hello:

Oooooo by the way MrsM ~ my late Gran left a wally trolley behind when she hopped off to heaven and my Mum says you are very welcome to it ;)

Right, off to do a BIG clean today as we are putting up Christmas decorations when Mr Frog gets home so I want to do sheets and everything :T

Have a good day peeps xxxxxxx

    Good afternoon ladies,

Missed you all yesterday, couldn't pop in. But didn't scoff and then have to go and hide in shame. :pHad some sort of tummy bug_pale_ and didn't eat all day, feel pasty today too :-(

Frogga - glad all is ok with PE kit, dogs and hubby:T

MRSM - think you've passed the "lurgy" on via cyberspace. Glad your back out shopping, great form of exercise;)

Rockie4 - what do you stuff your mushrooms with, they sound tasty. I agree Asda have a cheek.:mad:Price of lemons doubled last week here.

elljay - hello,:hello: I'm very please to meet you. Love the tips and congratulations on such a great weight loss.

kittyscarlett - ohh roadside bacon buttie al a fresco:D, what could be nicer. Hope your not coming down with the "lurgy" that's doing the rounds

juliejim - enjoy your nights out and your birthday, and if you can get more exercise in and more salad / soups on the other days it'll make up for the treats.

pigpen - I used to have syrup sandwiches! Disgusting now I think about it. Don't know how you can scoff marzipan though...yuck!:rotfl:

newlywed - do you only need a choc fix sometimes at certain times of the month, I know I do and will do anything to get it. Even seen me whipping up choc sponge puds in the micro, and scoffing the lot:o

hgbels - wow size 16 trousers I am so envious of that and your discipline, free work nibbles are often too hard to refuse.

taplady - hope your well, have you anything nice planned for this week's menus?

AliBow - you are very talented, wish I was as crafty, though I like to sew. That's been handy as a big-gal I've often altered clothes to fit better.

meanmarie - your menu always look nice, I'm sure it helps you to stick to meals when your food is so delish.
Everyone else, fellow lurkers and losers - big hellos:hello:

Fewww... that was hard work, least a 100 cals burnt with all that typing.

Right, off to see if I can get a weetabix down. Feel all waif-like and pale:eek: (if only my huge belly and boobs fitted the image...:rotfl:)

Enjoy the rest of Saturday gals!

    :hello: Afternoon ladies.
Phew!, just finished cleaning the house, just got to iron the chair covers and put them back on:eek: then I can relax......OH is already relaxing on the sofa, I can hear his snores from here .......

Katkin - Stuffed mushrooms - soften the mushroom in a covered pan, top with some wilted spinach then I either use couscous (Ainsley's yellow packet is particularly scrummy) or some fresh breadcrumbs, top with a bit of crumbled cheese (feta is good but any moustrap will do) then I cover the pan and continue cooking on a low heat until the cheese is melted (usually as long as it takes to griddle my wedges (sweet potato ones are a really nice combination with the spinach)

Frogga - I'm the same about online shopping, I like to check the dates on things and pick the nice looking veggies :D

Right, boiled egg and soldiers for brekkie, M&S butty for lunch  followed by a yoghurt and a piece of lemon sponge cake......it was nice but I was overfull and uncomfortable most of the afternoon.
Tea will be mushroom burgers with something and a veg - don't know what yet OH is off today so I'll let him decide.
Strictly and Casualty tonight for me

    See you tomorrow girls:A

    evening!
hello to all the usual suspects!:D MRSM, Frogga, alibo, Kitty, Julijim,Rockie, meanmarie,Katkin, Elljay,Pigpen,Newlywed, Hgbels and anyone I've missed(sorry)
am shattered after a long day at work - 10 hours then had a delay on the way home as our town was shut due to Father Christmas visiting:rolleyes: so had to make a 20 min detour!
Had porridge for breakfast then had to go out for lunch with work, the menu was cr*p  nothing veggie other than a burger so settled for tuna mayo jacket and salad.
Was absolutely starving when I got home so had to have a banana and walnut muffin (delish:drool: ) while tea was cooking - had veggie pizza - oven chips and salad.
My fruit intake for the day was a bit of tomato and a few grapes in the salad!:o
Am working 11 hours tomorrow with 2 meals at work - got some mushroom soup to take but we have a roast lunch, its pork this week so I'll just have spuds and veggies.

katkin - hope you're feeling better! havent got much planned for this week, its a pain making 2 meals but I really dont want to touch meat again, just need to find some new veggie recipes.Things for me are : veggie lasagne, cheese and potato pie, vegetable pie, salmon fishcakes, jacket spud and beans, cheesy mash.I'm still eating fish a couple of times a week, things like fresh salmon, tinned mackerel, tuna and tinned salmon, also quite like tinned pilchards.

have a great weekend all, shame I'm working!

    TTFN x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Evening all :)

frogga - aye I hate windy nights too - I think deep in my subconcious I go back to the night of the '87 hurricane and feel instantly suspicious ! re the mince pies, its the claggy commercial oversweet concrete pastry ones I can't stand. I don't mind the occasional homemade one with plain shortcrust - especially if the mincemeat has been mixed with chopped fresh apple to lighten it up a bit.

katkin - hope you feel better soon - I last had lurgy a couple of weeks back and hope not to get it again soon !

meanmarie - two muffins = does not equal the end of the world, better 2 muffins than twenty :D

rockie - mmm I love stuffed mushrooms of any kind !! I also like them plain baked with just a little olive oil brushed over and a bit of stilton crumbled over at the last moment.

taplady - apart from the things listed, what kind of veggie things do you like eating ? Ratatouille is good to make up in bulk and freeze - can eat on its own with a bit of bread and salad, with jacket spuds/wedges, rice, servie with low fat yoghurt or parmesan etc. You can also whizz it up into a soup with extra veg stock. If you like making up trays of roast med veggies you can even work backwards and make rataouille out of the leftovers with tinned toms or passata ( mmm - I must make some ratatouille this week I think ! )

Also, when I was vegetarian I found Sosmix an invaluable storecupboard standby. It sounds awful - a dry vege sausage mix - on its own its a bit bland but makes a brilliant base for all kinds of sausagemeat type dishes as you can add all kinds of things to it, and you can use as much or as little as you want as the dry mix keeps quite a long time even when opened. I used to love making up little sausagemeat balls from it with chopped apple, onion and sage, ( mushroom and cranberry was another good variation ) and you can shape it into sausages, burgers, stuffing, " meatloaf " etc.

An ok day. Didn't get much exercise as felt a bit rough after work and a colleague kindly gave me a lift home. Napped and lounged around after that !

    Foodwise :

1 big slice of wholemeal toast with honey
Jacket spud with leftover veg curry. Handful of raisins. 3 Heroes chocolates.
Orange juice, couple of jaffa cakes. Cheese and onion walkers.
Was going to make quorn casserole when I woke up but really didnt fancy it -again !! so had cheese on wholemeal toast with sliced tomato, half a head of celery, an apple and some apple juice.
Water intake has been pretty good today as well. Will probably have a cuppa and a couple of pieces of malt loaf before I go to bed. Meals are a bit bready atm but thats due to not being able to do proper shopping for a bit.

    Sleep well all :)

Hello everyone. I've made it eventually. Trying to stay awake at the mo as me and sis have to go pick her bf up from his birthday poker game at 1am! Personally I'd leave him there and let him sleep on the sofa but sis said she would pick him up and I don't want her driving that time of night on her own.

Anyway due to the birthday celebration there has been lots of naughty food in the house which I have been picking at :o On the plus side, I resisted the full fry up i helped sis cook and just had one slice of bacon and some eggy bread and I only had one weetabix for breakfast (which seems like ages ago now!) Exercise has been playing Wii sports and shopping!

Reading all your posts had made me want stuffed mushrooms so think that'll be lunch tomorrow as I have mushrooms and couscous.

Katkin - I wish I could sew well. I can do a bit but nothing complicated. Fortuently my mums a pretty good sewer and has made me dresses for formal does in the past when I haven't found any I like that fit or I can afford. Might have to take them in when I reach my target cos they're all so nice.

Gotta go do the taxi run now

Grrr. After keeping us both up hes just phoned to say he either wants picking up later or he'll stay there. He got a no to being picked up later which judging by this end of the phone call didn't go down well. Hes lucky hes her oh not mine or he'd be getting a right earful followed by 'picture, no sound' fpr quite a while. Oh and possibly the dissapearence of his precious wii and the sudden appearence of £240 worth of shoes in my collection :rotfl:

    Going to bed now!

    Morning Peeps,

Had a much better night sleep so hopefully I'll achieve more today. Mr Frog is bording out the loft. I am so pleased as , although the rest of the house is very organised and tidy, the loft is a complete pit! It gets used as a dumping ground. So once it's all borded out and I can get up there I am putting everything in boxes and neatly labled so we know what is what! Trying to be ruthless by chucking out all the rubbish that we've been keeping but it's not that easy. I am very sentimental and so are the tadpoles ;) At least it will be organised rubbish :o

Alibow ~ What a pain th bf was! Poor you, hope he lost all his money!

Kitty ~ hope you feel better today. perhaps you are comming down with something?

Taplady ~ be good at work;)

rockie ~ hope you had a relaxing evening after all your cleaning:j

marie ~ you have told me to stop worrying countless times before but I cant :o I think it's my hobby and if I do say so myself I am very good at it :D Hope the funeral wasn't too upsetting for you , thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Katkin ~ I hope you are feeling better today ;) I would love to be described as Pale and interesting :rotfl:
:wave:Hi MrsM and Juliejim and elljay
and hugs to anyone else that needs one on this cold winters morning :grouphug:
right off to have me shredded wheat and then I'm going to walk the whippets ~ in the rain  have a good day guys xxxxxxxxxxx
