    Morning ladies

just got back from a trip to find a new shop that keep stuffing leaflets through my door...we found it :T its pretty much like a warehouse shop if that makes sense..but got some good bits n bobs.. 4 microfibre cloths for £2... and a wooden pot brush with 2 spare heads for £1.50..usually use sponges but when you use them to clean things like the dough bowl they go all horrid n manky so im shifting to a brush ;)
got a few more bits for my hampers..including one of those jobbies you push into the soil and they remove enough earth for you to drop your bulb in... for mums gardening hamper.. £1 and its really sturdy :j ..also got some rather cute plaster xmas decorations -4 and 6 little pots of paints and a brush to go in SIL hamper...for £1.50.... if we had kids i would have got shed loads..they had allsorts...
anyway we are now back and the potatoes are in the steamer... having salad, potatoes and cottage cheese with some added onion... and i had 2 wetabix for brekkie:D

We nipped in the Naffi on the way back and they have NO prawns  not a single, solitary one  .... although they had 4 tubs of langley farm cottage cheese whoopse..so i nabbed em :D , and also got a stuffed chicken joint.. wouldn't normaly buy something like that..but i fancied it and it wasn't bad at roughly £5 for a kilo joint.... so will be having that tomorrow with pots n veggies... see im being good and making myself eat :D

Hgbels..well done on having lost 21lbs :T and as kittyscarlett said... the cambridge diet workmate may not be shouting as loudly when she has to try and keep it off ;) and of course you aren't forking out about £35 a week
so next time, just smile to yourself and think of that :D

sorry you had a gain this is it...im sure you will whip it back of again in no time...

recovering spendaholic... wouldn't mind if THAT was the reason im off my food... we really want a family..but its just not happening yet (hence the shifting of all this weight to increase the chances;) ).. i have always been this way im affraid..its just that normally i ignore it and carry on stuffing..now i am finally listening to what my body is telling me :p ..
Hopefully once i have shifted all this excess baggage our turn will come... and at least i will be a damn sight fitter to handle it and to make sure that our kids don't end up with a twisted relationship with food ;)

I have been trying to use up what is in my freezers for a few weeks now too.. and they still seem sooo full.... so i may have to double the effort and join you.. i will fetch milk, fruit, and salad stuff..nothing else :D .. only have to get to the 17th dec as we leave then until the newyear... and then i can use the house keeping to buy stuff in the UK ;)

Alibow..I would love to see them..im a x stitcher and used to make jewellery but i would love to be artistic..i have though about using fimo (sp) clay to have a go at making stuff.. you might just give me the shove i need... would like to make xmas decorations etc for next year. My mum makes the most beautiful flowers out of sugar..so realistic and delicate.. she is 68 with athritis.. im 35 and my roses used to look like cabbages :rotfl:

    Morning Taplady :D
Hope you have a lovely weekend...just think..eating a whole meal uninterupted

morning frogga-hope all is well :D

well i will get off now and do the salad..
hope we all have a good weekend..keep at it folks we will get there ;)

    Hello all,

Fruit and fibre this morning, with added raisins and cashews, coffee.

Have just had a mushroom stuffed with feta which OH bought in Lidl the last day we were there...he's a sucker for that kind of stuff, he can afford it as he is a greyhound type, but neither my purse nor my metabolism find them good, so I just allow him one per trip.

We are having (dry) pan-fried mackerel to-day for dinner, hm oven chips and some type of frozen veg...feeling lazier than usual

    Have a good weekend everyone

    Evening all..

where is everyone?... i would like to think you are all out having a wild time... but have a feeling -shopping, cooking, cleaning and kids are what are keeping you away from the pc ;)

well i had my salad, a steamed potato and a bit of cottage cheese for lunch and it was lovely:T and i have just had poached egg on toast..and enjoyed that too :j ..... and will be having some tinned peaches or grapefruit later....

Allready had a soak in the bath with some mags, so think im gonna go and wrap a couple more hampers and then sit and make a list of what i want to get whilst back in the UK... and then when we get back in the new year im on a serious OS money saving kick... and am going to be doing lots of crafty pass times to keep me occupied and save some pennies... this last few weeks haven't been good as i have been busy spending on the hamper stuff.. on a plus point picked up a bottle of red wine last night..a Merlot and it is rather nice.. had a sip of hubbies..very rarely drink.. but like to try new ones out and have decided to take some back with us at xmas to save pennies..it came in at a couple of pence over £1 a bottle  ... and is better than most expensive wines i have ever tried:T

hello meanmarie.. i love smoked mackrel, but when i tried fresh it was so oily i couldn't eat it..which is a shame as i know its good for you... now the mushroom with feta sounds nice though :D
hope you are having a good weekend too..there is only you and me about  ...

well, as no-one is about i will get off and twiddle my thumbs :p

    have a good evening all

    Hi Mrs MCC...

Everyone else is probably doing housework...I have just eaten dinner and the mackerel was lovely...I never use any fat or oil when cooking it as it is very oily, but if you don't like it it is very hard to make yourself eat it...you eat healthily anyway so I shouldn't worry.

Just about to have a very quick shower before I head for airport to meet DD1 who has been on holiday in Malaysia for 3 weeks, have been sorting cupboards in kitchen and feel hot and sweaty.

    Have a good weekend

Phew! made it here at last :j
I've had a brilliantly unusual day today :DAs you suggested MrsM, I let OH have it with both barrels last night and as a result he's not speaking to me now :D - he'll probably sulk for 3 or 4 days but I don't mind at all!!
I've spent the day at a yoga and belly dancing workshop.... brilliant! I haven't done yoga for over 30 years but I really enjoyed it and the belly dancing was fantastic - I'm cream crackered now  We finished off by pairing up and doing reflexology on each other which was........quite nice really!
It's certainly helped foodwise today. I had an egg on toast for brekkie, had a milky coffee and cereal bar before I went and at the break I had a slice of melon and a small handful of nuts and seeds.
Coming home (it was near work so I've had my hour walking) I started thinking about tea and realised I wasn't that hungry...... I've just had a salad with a jacket potato and some hummus and feel stuffed :D
I'm going to continue the feelgood factor and have a bath with aromatherapy oils in a bit and go to bed before OH gets home from work then he won't spoil my day :T

Enjoy what's left of today ladies :A

    hi everyone

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I am still trying with my healthier eating plan and whilst not strictly dieting I am trying to eat better and more OS. I do enjoy home cooked food from scratch (unfortunately I enjoy home baking as well!) Mrs McC thanks for posting your home made bread recipe the other day - I am sure you answered this question but I can't find it - can you use dried yeast for making the bread ? I looked in Tesco for fresh yeast and could not find any (I was looking where the flour is but could only see dried yeast) also if you can use dried is it the full sachet you would use.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there mayz...

yes you can use dried yeast... 1 sachet but i would mix it in with the flour, then add the salt...and then the liquid (no need for sugar with dried yeast either) (salt can slow down yeast and sometimes kills it-so by mixing the yeast in with the flour it coats it and protects it) ;)

fresh yeast is quite often kept where the lard etc is, or the fresh pastry. if you go to asda -the instore bakery and ask for yeast they give it you free :j ...and you can break it into chunks and freeze it-don't know if the other supermarkets give it you free mind.

ooooh eck rockie hope I haven't encouraged you to have a row :o ... mind i don't imagine you would have had a go unless provoked ;) - still think its much better than "eating" your feelings as many of us are prone to do.... then you just end up feeling more crappy and angry and have an even bigger fall out ! glad you are having a lovely pamper anyway..hopefully by the time you both get up in the morning it will have all blown over(some of those lovely calming essential alls might rub off on OH whilst he is asleep:rotfl: )... and at least you won't be feeling manky after eating cr*p to make you feel better :j

    woohoo frogga :D

    :rotfl: :D

MRSM - I like tinned mackeral but its got to be skinless and boneless or I wont touch it! I think its good for you - omega 3 etc, lovely in salad or on toast mixed with a little vinegar.

My not eating meat is going well so far, tummy much better:j I made some veggie lasagne for my tea, DH had one I'd made earlier;) and froze, he said mine looked nicer than his! all that was missing was a slice of garlic bread! had a bread free day today!:T

I have to confess to having a small HM mince pie for supper:o :D could have eaten 2 or 3 they were so nice!

rockie - hope you make it up with your OH!

Off to bed soon, am off to a carboot weather permitting in the morning then off to Asda so I'll catch up tomorrow afternoon!

    take care xx

    Hi Guys,

Taplady ~ Glad to hear your tummy is feeling better :T , I DO NOT WANT to be controversial or start banging on about the benifits of not eating meat in a vain attempt to convert people ( I hate people that preech!) but I have widely read about meat being the cause of lots of digestive problems. I guess all you can do is give it a fair go. If it doesn't make any difference try cutting out something else like Dairy, then Wheat et.c ~ I'm sure you know what you are doing so I have no intention to teach you how to suck eggs! :D

Hi there MrsM ~ you are such a mine of information , is there any foodie question that you don't know the answer to? I bet I could think of one ............................hmm I know , what am I having for Breakfast? Ha , don't know do ya? Not so Smart now eh? :kisses3:

Mayz ~ I get my Fresh yeast from the local bakers. You could try them if you have one x

Rockie ~ hope you and your oh have kissed and made up xx

MeanMaire ~ hi gran , eating Fish is yucky ~ It's bad enough living with them, but eating them! yuck ~ they have very bad personal hygene you know. them leave food til it goes mouldy then eat it up off the floor and they swim around in their own poo ! Nightmare neighbours? you lot have no idea!

Right Hopping off now, off to MrT this am to get a few bits. Decieded to only take a tenner so I can't buy binge food as I wont have enough~ See I am Trying :T

Have a good day all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
