  • MrsM, shocked at me eh ? I actually tone myself down quite a lot for this forum, don't want to scare you all off ;) Glad you were pleased with how your oxtail soup turned out, see, I told you it would be different from tinned gunk !!

Talkking of soup, after posting the Mock Turtle verse I couldn't get the thought of lovely green soup out of my mind...so, to celebrate me getting back on the wagon and to try and encourage Frogga to get back on as well :D I decided to invent a green OS soup in her honour, never mind that she will probably think at least one or more of the ingredients are " yukky ":p its green and its vegan, what more does she want !:rotfl: the following quantities made me a generous bowlful plus another one to freeze down ( meat delivery not for 2 weeks now so I can live a bit dangerously with popping the odd thing in the freezer ! )

Soup a la Frogga ( please note, no amphibians were harmed in the making of this soup )

    Half an onion finely chopped.
Half a big leek finely sliced.
3-4 cloves of garlic finely sliced.
    Big stick of celery chopped
Bit of sage and rosemary from my garden chopped finely
Half a tin of cannelini beans
    About 100g frozen peas - 2-3 handfuls
3 lumps of chopped frozen spinach
    Swiss Marigold veg stock

Sweated off the onions and garlic in just enough oil to barely cover the bottom of the saucepan along with the herbs, until sweet and soft. Added the leeks for 5 mins more. Added the celery and cannelini beans with enough veg stock to generously cover. Simmer for about 25-30 mins. Add peas, bring to boil again, simmer for 3 mins, add spinach, another 3 mins. Then whizz vigorously in, or if youre like me and have a wand one, with the blender until nice and smooth.

GREEN AND B*OODY YUMMY !!! I finished mine off with a nonvegan dollop of greek yoghurt and some chopped fresh parsley, delish !

    Good evening everyone!

Just popping in to see how you're all getting on.

Got home from work very late and everyone had fed themselves pizza (nothing like making me something nice and healthy and leaving a plate of it in the micro..humff..).

Ate then out - only done 30 mins mostly walking and little bursts of jogging in between, felt great and since it's brass-monkey :eek:weather outside, it kept me cosier!

    Today's eats:

    B - 1 weetabix, ss milk, OJ
L - salad, 3 slices lean chicken, SF jelly, rasps, blackberries, grape salad
D - 2 thin slices HM toast with 1/2 tin beans, cuppa
    Snacks - banana, 2 satsumas

Navy blue work trousers well baggy on the thigh, kept flapping the fabric about today because I could:D...it is so, so good being able to sit down and not have my waistband cutting my flesh like a cheese string:rotfl:

Keep up the good work gang:j

Have been a very naughty old woman again to-day ( was going to say 'girl' but even I haven't that much cheek!)

Dinner was spag bol which was really good and I had three spoonfuls of delicious parmesan on top, and one slice of bread.

Then I went mad and had three muffins and half a cold lamb chop leftover from yesterday.

I weigh in to-morrow and do not expect that I will even have stayed the same...why do I do this to myself??Soup being made to-morrow I think...only way to subdue my appetite

meanmarie - I read the other day that a spoonful of white wine vinegar is supposed to supress appetite. Not sure how well it works but I might buy a bottle and give it a try.

MrsM - I brought: anised balls, pint pots, white mice, sour apples, flying saucers, turkish delight and chocolate ginger. None of which are for me. I'm not so big on coconut mushrooms. Barley sugars are my big weakness and toffee bonbons.

Anyhoo, I've had "bits" for tea tonight. Which is what we call it in my house when noone can be bothered to cook something everyone likes. Tonight I had half a jp, spoonful of rice, slice of french bread, small piece of cheese, couple of slices of ham, a little bit of smoked salmon, orange pepper and cucumber. Sounds liek loads but it was only little bits of everything. Saying that I have had several of the ginger biscuits I baked earlier :o and my tummy is now sore.

Another 2lb off this week so very pleased and makes up for the .5lb I put on last week!

Hopefully should have a good day today, not sure what's for breakfast but I've got a bit of chicken stew left over from my mum and dad's last night for lunch and probably shepherd's pie for tea!

    Hope everyone's well
