Hello Everyone - couldn't get on earlier as the maintenance message kept coming up. Hope you have all had an okay evening.
Kittyscarlett - sorry you have had such a trying day. I know what you mean about the freezer - I often throw stuff out - not meat or expensive stuff but lolly ices and bags of frozen veg which have been there for ages and have all iced up.
Frogga - well done to the tadpoles :T - Holly sounds like a lovely compassionate girl and you are rightly very proud of her - there are too many teenagers today who seem to just run with the crowd and mock anyone who is a little bit different.
Taplady - sorry to hear about your IBS - I have had IBS for ages - not really pain, just get the runs if I eat the wrong stuff for me, which I do frequently! Never mind about the half a pound - I think that a half pound gain is brilliant after a weekend away - I would have gained more like half a stone!
Rockie - sorry about the transport problems - that is one thing I DON'T miss about having a job!
Mrs M - your bread sounds wonderful and I think you are remarkably restrained with it - I am not good at all with hm bread and will happily toast it from frozen if I freeze it in portions! I LOVE bread - it is my most very favourite thing - much better than chocolate or chips or anything.
Hello Katkin, TurboGran, meanmarie, Mewlywed, bobbadog, Keiss,Pigpen and everyone else.
Today wasn't too bad eating wise - no binge and reasonable portions of healthy stuff. Why can't I do that every day? I was in Mr T's and they had bags of unsweetend dried mango - no preservatives or anything in it - it was on offer so I got some and it was surprisingly nice. It is in 100g bags and each bag contains 350 calories, which sounds like alot but the bag is big and I have been munching it all day and just weighed the contents to see how much I had had and I had only had 10g!!! - It is really hard and chewy but really sweet and nice. I think it helped me today. They had dried pineapple and banana too but didn't fancy that. It's not the same as normal dried fruit at all - there is absolutley not moisture in it like there is in raisins or apricots etc.
STILL haven't found the Slim at Home magazine, but am going to try again tomorrow. Did get the Christmas Good Housekeeping though, but thought it was a bit naff TBH - didn't fancy any of the recipes.
I love all the Christmas adverts on the Telly at the moment and REALLY want to get my hair done like Lulu's on the Morrison's advert - it's lovely - mind you it wouldn't probably look like that on me!Jane

Morning All,
I just had an email from MrsM to say the forums will be down til Tuesday, but here they are! Do you think that was a deliberate attempt to keep me from you all! Sabotage? ! I'll have words for you MrsM!:rotfl: Unless it's only you that cant get on? Oh heck, what will we do without your kind words and encouragement?;)
Turbo Gran ~ I have two tadpoles. Holly is 11 and started High School in Sept and Robbie is 10 and in his last year at primary. They are very close in age and very close in spirit. H calls R her Big Brother as he is taller although younger. They normally pretend they are twins to any one who doesn't know differently :rotfl: They have suffered a bit this year as they have been separated. As our local village school is so small they have been in the same class for years. I'm going to buy H a nice pen today for doing SO well, it was R's idea!
Taplady ~ Too late anyway , I ate your soup!:o Sorry!Don't worry about such a small gain, you really are an amature ~ I've put on 10 lb! If you need advice on how to do it better let me know, if you need advice on how to get back on track ask the others!:rotfl:
Kitty ~ sorry you were so cheesed off yesterday, hope the demons have gone today and you have a nicer time x Who's the FG?I keep coming up with ideas but they are all rude?:rotfl: how unlike me?;)
Rockie ~ would you rather have a seatie to work on the back of my bike? Hop on mate
RS ~ I like Mango , yummy yummy xxx
Hi Pigpen,katkin, kleiss,MeanMarie, bobadog anyone else I forgot? Oooooooooooo yes:T :T Hi MrsM x:T :T
:rolleyes:See ya later people xxxSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Makes me sound like a puddy-cat!!! :rotfl:
Morning all. Morning frogga - well done for your daughter. It's good that she has such a glowing report from the school - and that she is thoughtful about other kids being picked on. You have every reason to be proud
Didn't have a good day yesterday stepson realised at 8 am just as we are about to leave to drop him at school that he didn't have his trainers with him for school - so had to go back to his mum's to get them before dropping him at school. Thankfully (I think ) she lives fairly near.
Then stopped at my sister's as she had some trousers that were too big for her - and they are too big for me too - so no free clothesBut at least they weren't too small
Then got home, had tea and a neighbour knocked to say my car door was open and a cat was going in and out - must have caught my bag on the passenger door when I picked it up - thankfully no smell of cat wee - and nothing nicked which is a huge surprise where we live
All in all, think I'm gong senile and I'm not even 35 yet!!!
Managed not to eat more than 2 biccies in the evening thoughworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Good morning everyone
Thank you so much for all your kind wishes for my birthday yesterday, I really had a wonderful day. :heartsmil:grouphug::heartsmil
I was going to thank everyone individually in this post, but I would be here most of the morning!
Hope you had a nice anniversary bobbadog, it's great being with the same man for such a long time, we have our 25th next year.
taplady, you did well with only 1/2 a pound gain...it just might spur you on to work a bit harder so that you will have a loss next week. Sorry to hear about the IBS, I had it bad while in Holland...no fun, and still can get bouts now. Found a high fibre (doctor put me on F-plan...well it was 1988!) diet worked pretty well for me, but I know different things work for different folks...good luck with it all.
frogga, what lovely children you have, you must be so proud to have a daughter willing to stand up for herself and others, a big hug to you all. :grouphug:
We had a lovely meal out last night, I had dressed crab to start with and had to give half of it to OH as it was so much! I am so used to crabs down here being titchy, but this was a reasonable size. Another couple ordered a crab and selection of bread to share for starters...a good move I think. OH had duck spring rolls with bean sprouts and dipping sauces...there were only two small spring rolls, so he was happy to tuck into the crab. I had boned shoulder of lamb (two medium slices) with a rich gravy and spiced cous-cous...very scrummy, and not too much. OH had a 10oz rib-eye steak with very chunky chips. We share a bowl of lovely crunchy veg: french beans, baby carrots and mange-tout. We had a bottle of red wine, which we couldn't finish, so we took it home. Despite being tempted, neither of us could face a sweet, and went home very happy and contented...not stuffed. :rotfl::rotfl:
We got home just as the f*****ll match finished, and the result I am afraid did not dampen my day...well I am Scottish after all! Even my teenagers, both born in Macclesfield, consider themselves Scottish (OH also from north of border), so we had our moment of sadness on Saturday instead.:(
I was supposed to take DS1 up to his school for 6:30 this morning for a school trip, but darling OH took him instead..bless. :heartsmil
So I am off into town to get some shopping done before coming back and doing more college work, I have decided to crack on with next week's homework so if things go pear-shaped, I will have things sorted.
I think I managed to talk my MIL to come down to us for Christmas...was this wise?! She is a lovely woman, but we have had a few clashes in the kitchen in the past! She hasn't been down for a few years, so she will see a few changes in the house (bigger tip than before!). Her OH died March 07, and we went up to hers for Xmas last year. As DS1 will have A Level exams straight after Christmas (as well as 18th on 28th!), we have decided not to go north this year.
So now I have 4 weeks to plan a clear-up campaign for the whole house. At least with a good reason and definite deadline, I just might get the rest of my family to help! I am afraid I am not one for excessive (any?!) cleaning, so we only tend have a bit of a clear up when it all gets too much. We are all hoarders in this house, which, considering it is a small 300 year-old 3-bedroom house with no hall or garage, is not a good thing at all!
I am getting in a sweat already at the thought of it already...will draw up a plan later...tomorrow?:rotfl:
Have a great day folks...may pop in later.

It was a lie :j .... its a good job im a persistant wee beastie..otherwise i would have been sat here until tuesday staring at the PC, but not knowing where to go.....it deffinitely told me it would be down until Tuesday.... I broke out into a cold sweat don't you know... still all you lovely folks are still there
frogga...as if i would sabotage you my ickle green friend....
just got back from another walk...another 1 1/2hrs out of the way :T .. and after this im gonna phone my mum and then sit on my bum and read my new WW mag...felt like treating myself and at least i can't eat it...and as hubby is golfing until..we don't know when.. im gonna have a veg out
.. well i did all the house work yesterday..:D ... mind its weigh day tomorrow so shouldn't really sit on my behind...lets see how long i last before i think of something to do:p
Kittyscarlett....hope you are feeling brighter today... its horrible to feel like that - especially if you don't know why!.... we all have them days, and i guess that even though you might be cross that you threw food away...just think how much worse you would have felt if you had eaten it
ooh oooohh im not cracking up..recovering spenadaholic was getting problems too....
I used to have problems with bread too.... all my side of the family are the same... but some how i have cracked it.. i still have some if i really want some but to be honest now i probably only have 4 slices a week maximum... and sometimes non at all.... i usually have it when its just been madewarm with low fat cream cheese n herbs mmmmm...but 2 was too much last night
woohoo frogga
What are you doing on those scales lady? you don't weigh in until the 1st...so it doesn't count.... you can get yourself back on track and think how happy you will be when you get on the scales on the 1st and that number has gone down
.... come on now..you know you can do it.. don't make me keep pming you into submission... :rotfl:
Keiss.... so glad you had a good birthday..and a lovely meal to boot :T
It looks like you picked really well and most important of all - you enjoyed it..and no pud pud :A ..get polishing that halo
All that cleaning..just think of the cals you will be burning..much better than going to the gym :T and if MIL wants to fight over the kitchen why don't you pick certain days and let her loose in there..and sit on your bum whilst she gets on with it... you get a rest and MIL feels usefull
... mind i have to say i can't stand folks in my kitchen..but if she is gonna bug you whilst you are in there you may as well make the most of it :rotfl:
well whilst i was out n about i managed to get a bottle of that single malt for hubby at pretty much £9 :j ..so thats his hamper started.. and picked up a few more bits..got a draught excluder with a big reindeer sat on itwell im doing bil + sil a hamper and they get the most god awfull draught under their front door and as they have a wee one who is 1 in a few days and another due in feb... thought it might be a good idea
... doing all sorts of foody treats for them i think... got a 500g box of disney pasta to make the little one things with for 75p.... so this could be a strange hamper
....going to get things like those bottles of flavoured syrups for coffee/chocolate like you get in starbucks etc..only about £1.50 here..so i thought it was something different
well lovely folks i had better get off and give mum a ring..

Morning ladies!!:j
I got the maintainance massage as well last night so I had another piece of cake:o Oops!
Frogga - well done to the tadpoles! As for the bike ride.......no thanks! I've got a bike and used to bike to work every day when I worked locally but now I work in the Big City (Manchester) there is NO WAY I would ride a bike down here!!
Anyway, OH took pity on me, he has a day off today so I've got the car so arrived here warm, dry and happy!
Right, I had toast and marmalade for brekkie, I've just had a bit of cheese and a banana, cheese and beetroot butty for lunch, fruit and snakajacks for the afternon nibbles. Tea will be the glamorgan sausages, mash and cabbage that I was going to have last night and maybe a yoghurt.
Exercise today is belly dancing YAY :j :j
Weighday tomorrow but I'm not hopeful:o I'll be happy to stay the same this week but I really have to get my brain in gear to do this. I only need to lose 12lbs for god's sake!!!! surely it's not that difficult (it's not, I've done it lots of times!!!!)
Enjoy the day folks :A0 -
Morning everyone!
Had a jacket potato and beans (small one) last night for dinner, 2 chocolate seashells from our Anniversary chocs and a large JD and diet coke (whooops!)
Today:
Breakfast: 2 weetabix w/ semi skimmed, green tea
Lunch: BGTY tin of soup, harvest grain roll, SF jelly
Dinner: Thai green soup, bread
Desert: mango yoghurt
Lots of soup today! Soup-er. x0 -
Morning everyone,
Am taking care of DGS2 who is not the best to-day...he used to have a milk intolerence and as soon as he gets a cold it comes back, he is at present sitting on living room couch watching tv and has warned OH that he is not allowed to smoke to-day except in his bedroom or outside!
Frogga well done to Tadpoles...lovely to see that T1 is so caring. As for you...listen to Mrs MC!
Made muffins last night and ate 4...which spurred me on to have 4 slices of bread in onion sandwiches before I went to bed...had been very good up to 8pm...should do a ten mile run this am but not fit to do ten minute one. Today is a new day and I have had:
fruit and fibre bran cereal with extra raisins and cashews, coffee. Spag bol is for dinner and will try to just have soup at lunchtime..and some fruit in between, we all seem to be gone off bananas atm so really should make more muffins...will freeze them if I do, there are lots of pears which I really like so may have a couple later on.
Have a good day all

Thanks Mrs M, it was a good meal, and there was so much lovely food to choose from!
As to MIL, the last time she came she brought a book to read, which kept her occupied. She's actually okay most of the time, and she has learned over the years to keep her comments of: "I don't do it that way...." and "Why don't you do it ...." to herself, or at least not spend her whole time correcting me!. We just do things differently, she has been the same with her own two daughters, so it isn't just me!
Shopping's done, managed to get a roll-end of bubble-wrap for wrapping pressies so saved quite a bit there...yippee! I do object to forking out lots for the wrappings!
Food today:
Breakfast: Special K, soya milk + OJ
Snack: 10 grapes
Lunch: 1/2 tin of peaches in pear juice in 1/2 tin of low fat Ambrosia custard....yummeee!
Snack: Cereal bar
Tea: Ham sandwich with low fat cheese spread (garlic + herbs), sugar-free jelly with mandarins in.
Saving tins to make lots of mini Christmas cakes to give as pressies (that's my excuse!).
Off to walk dog; take neighbour's pension and shopping round to her; then off into town for college @ 6pm
Have a good day folks :T:T
