  • Hi everyone:hello:
    Mayz
Try holding the bread knife with your index finger pressing along the top of the blade, it seems to make a difference for me when I'm trying to cut a straight slice. A proper bread knife helps too.
    DRINKING CHOCOLATE;
I like to buy the low cal d' chocs and dip my damp finger into the powder then lick it off, lasts for ages, takes me back to my childhood and also gives me a choc fix.you could also try mixing your own with cocoa and powdered sweetener together,if you get one of those little milk frother whisk thingies you can make a little milk go a long way, these are also great for making a lovely mock cappucino(I got mine from Ikea, about £1.25,and I've seen them in a pound shop)

I think all the cycling is making me hungry, you said it would MrsM !

I seem to be working up an appitite, hmmmmmmmmmm :o Never Mind ;)

I am Really looking forward to today, not! We have a staff training day and no doubt "Roll Play" will be involved somewhere! I'll play the stroppy student falling asleep in the quiet area if they want:rotfl:

Right , be good everyone, unlike me!

Oooooooooooooo I just had a thought............... If I'm struggling now I'll get more praise from you all when I get back on track again, see I knew I was doing it for a reason!:rotfl:

MrsM ~ It will be so nice to get your rings back on xx were they "posh" ones? My engagement ring cost £15! Well , Mr Frog was only 17 and only worked parttime! My Wedding Ring was £25!! But when your 16 that feels like alot!! ha ha , Mr Frog says He'll buy me a posh ring with real diamonds in it when we get to 25 years xxxxx They may be cheep but I love em xxx

  • Morning all. Frogga - role playing? That would be enough to send me running for the Mars Bars.:D

Can anyone tell me why I get a different reading on my scales on the carpet than on the laminate floor? Which is more accurate? (The lower reading obviously, lol!)

Good luck with the healthy eating today, everyone. I'm just off to have my weetabix. Lunch will be veggie soup, dinner leftover sausage casserole, snacks fruit.

    :T :T At last a question I know the answer to!:T :T

You must put the scales on a hard surface as if you put it on the carpet the pile "absorbs" some of the weight IYKWIM? It must be hard and very level.

I am a mine of information, anyone else need to know anything? The meaning of life the universe and everything? 42 obviously ;) (That's a test to see how well read you all are!)

  • Well, you learn something new everyday! I'll be weighing myself in the bathroom from now on then. (I guess that's why they call them bathroom scales?:o ) Thanks Frogga, oh fount of wisdom.:T

    Morning all...where is everyone

Me and my trotters are staying in today  ....as the skin is drying its getting tight and its sore.. so it has today off...so i will be scrubbing the house from top to bottom instead:p
But tomorrow...it will be going back into a shoe and out for a wander ;)

Got the oxtail in the slow cooker still and will endevour to turn it into soup/stew for hubby later... also need to get a new loaf of bread made too... and hubby has asked for potatoes n onions done in the oven with hm sausages...... don't know what i will be having yet

having a weetabix for brekkie though..mmmmmm

Frogga.... i always hated roll play ...even as a kid... as an adult i really don't get it  .....
My wedding ring wasn't posh.... i wanted a really delicate and thin one,and wouldn't spend a fortune on one... its the sentiment that i was bothered about too.... my engagement ring..hubby picked..didn't even see the proposal coming :p ..he had always said that he would never get married whilst he was in the army as he had seen too many marriages go belly up in the army... and he said he would never consider marrying someone until he had known them at least 2 years... we had known each other a year :rotfl: and it came out of the blue:p

so my "to do" list today is:-
    • vaccuum right through
    • clean the windows inside n out
    • scrub the bathroom
    • give the kitchen a going over
    • change the bed
    • mop the kitchen, hall and bathroom
    • tidy our bedroom
    • and try and sort out the hamper stuff... have it cascading across the floor at the moment
so if that little lot doesn't burn some fat there will be trouble;)

well i had better get my brekkie and then make a start...

hope everyone has a good day...keep up the good work everyone :D

  • Douglas Adams ftw, that's how well read I am ! Role playing ? better than real work ! anyway, I roleplay a sane calm organised responsible person every working hour, its amazing how good you can get at pretending when you try :D

Not really much to say this morning. Its dry and sunny which normally would make me quite cheerful but I think I got out the bed the wrong side this morning - probably cos it took me ages to get off to sleep last night and I woke up far too early. Don't want to work today, want to run away and play( or crawl back into bed ). Also not very interested currently in food today so goodness only knows what I'll end up with. Dinner last night was a spinach fritatta and I did intend to have the other half of it today but after inspection decided I had overcooked it and didn't want it and binned it :( O well !

The day can only improve from hereon ( famous last words ! ) Have a good day all :)

Good morning everyone, what a lovely day! :j:j:j

I was not feeling great last night and suddenly didn't want to "get old"..(I am 47 today). So I was dreading this morning......

Then I weighed myself this morning (naughty I know mid-week). I put a new battery in the scales and gave them a good cleaning yesterday. There must have been an awful lot of dirt on there as I am now 17stone 13 lbs, that's 3 pounds lighter than Monday! :T I am not including this as a 'proper weight' and will wait until next Monday to see how I am then.

So with that and a lovely pile of pressies, and two phone calls already this morning, I am top of the world!

It's funny how little things can change how you feel in an instant, either up or down.

I am doing college work this morning (has to be done!), then will pop round to my neighbour's and have a natter. She is 87 and is my surrogate granny as well as a good friend.

Not sure where DH is taking me tonight...it's a surprise!

    Food today:

Breakfast: a lovely bowl of porridge with some raisins...this will keep me full until lunch time.
Snack: possibly nothing, but fruit if I fell peckish
Lunch not sure , light sandwich or soup
Snack: at neighbour's...maybe a little bit of chocolate!
Tea: something nice, but not too bad!

Off to cycle a few km before getting down to finish my homework while listening to the new Eagles CD (pressie from DS2).

Mrs M - rest those tootsies today, they will so much better tomorrow. Love the baskets

Frogga - have fun role-playing, not my idea of a good time either!

Kittyscarlet - Douglas Adams, a great writer...did you listen to Dirk Gently on Radio 4 recently...a great wheeze. DS1 a complete convert, but DS2 not sure yet, though he has discovered Terry Pratchett.

Have a great day everyone :j:j:j
