  • Horace - Get yourself a good set of digital scales - Argos have some really good ones.

Also try Ebay - I got a pair of Salter Digital retailing at £55 for £25 including the p&p and they are fabulous.
  • cute, you're doing very well. Well done!
Horace, yes, get scales, or even better, get thee along to boots once a week and pay the 50p or whatever it is on their scales. Then you won't be tempted to weigh yourself morning noon and night.
I'm obsessed and it's not good.

    pigpen, i'm thinking eugh! :rotfl:

I used to go to Boots once a week to get the print-out - then hit a snag when the machine was out of order!!

It is a great way of following progress, thought

BTW it is 30p at my Boots.

On Cambridge we have a CDC to weigh us every week but I wanted a printout to stick in my diary!

    Immmmm back :rudolf:

I sat here twiddling my thumbs waiting for hubby to come back...and i sat until 10:30 and then gave up and set off on foot... im sooo like my dad.. can't diddly dally to save my life..."when i need to do something" i NEED to do it straight away... the upside is that i have just got back..so can mentally cross off 90mins walking this week:j ..and i have got back and hubby HAS been home as the jug is in the sink and his flask and bread has gone  typical..
But my plastered trotters held up ok..(it probably helped that i didn't pop them this time :p ..)just couldn't get any more plasters so hubby may get a call to pick some up on his way off camp ;)

I try not to get too much at once as i really shouldn't and can't carry much... but they had 2.5kilo wooden boxes of clementines/satsumas so i had one:D .. got back and weighed my shopping out of curiosity and it came to just under 10lbs..and i knew i was carrying it -trust me :o ... the realisation that i have lost 40lb and so have been lugging 4 times that around has quite A) amazed me and B)strengthened my determination and focus :T

got some more goodies for my hampers...so i have a box of truffles with toffee bits in, a box of truffles that have yoghurt n various fruit fillings  - they are all pretty pink and orange decorated..and a box of praline truffles -with things like rum n raisin, amaretto in..I won't be cruel and post a pic :rotfl: can see them going upstairs into the hampers in a moment...once i mentally "give" them to someone i won't be tempted .as they aren't mine;)

    I also got a set of 2 non stick baking tins...about 12"X 9" and 1 3/4" deep.. just a nice size and for less than £3 i couldn't resist :D
OOh and some clear wrapping for my hampers with gold stars on... should have been £1.50 for a 5m roll but when they went throught there was 33% off so for just under £1 im thrilled and hubby will be taking me back for some more me thinks ;)

Keiss.. it quite likely that you are losing inches rather than it showing on the scales at the moment..so keep at it..those scales wil register the difference soon...

If i was you i would be more likely to go for the meal out... for various reasons...
    1. Its your birthday and you deserve a treat :D
    2. it will give you and hubby some "you time"
    3. there will be lots of choice and you can still make healthy choices whilst still having something yummy -hmmm whilst reserving room for a pud of course;) ..you n hubby could always be romantic and share a pud..as long as you can shovel...sorry "spoon" quicker than him ;)
    4. if you eat at home ..will you feel a bit "deprived" and have extra goodies to "treat" yourself?
    5. if you eat out..you can only eat what they put on your plate..oh and the obligatory chip or three off of hubbies plate :rotfl:
    6. and you won't have all the leftovers in your fridge calling your name
    7. ooohhh and finally i think that if you go out have something nice but healthy, then it may make you stay nice and focused as you have had a lovely treat and can think OK.. now i can stay on track until xmas when i will allow myself a little extra of course...
    8. oh and depending on the weather and location of the restaurant-you n hubby could have a lovely slow walk to the restaurant and a romantic wander back.. burning up some extra cals ;)
Taplady... i want my snow back  ..its lovely and dry here..one of those lovely sharp crisp days.. hope work goes ok for you today..

Kittyscarlett.. i have an addiction to weetabix and porridge at the moment.. i really don't know where it has come from..im even sat eating my dinner some days thinking "id rather have weetabix" mind you im planning on weetabix for tea tonight for me..non of that chilli stuff :D

Mirandamayhem...hope you are feeling better soon..tuck yourself up on the sofa with a blankie, hot water bottle a warm drink and watch "no think television" until you are feeling a bit better,,,,and if what you fancy or can get down you isn't the best choice "so what"... you will soon pick it back up again once you are well :T

rockie4... juliejim has had the mag..im sure she wil let you in on where she got it.. i have just subscribed... if i was in the UK i would just have got it as and when i wanted...but it works out cheaper for me to get it in my mums address, she can read it and BIL is a postie so i will nick some stamps and get mum to post it on ;) 2 for the price of 1 :j , although what we could do is i could post them on to 1 of you when i had read a copy and then for the price of a stamp that person could post it on :rotfl: ..ok you would be getting them out of date..but once i had read several and passed them on, we should all have 1 to be reading ..how MSE is that :rotfl: ....

Hi there Horace and welcome on board... i can't wait until i can get on the scales and they say nearly 12st.. i will jig around the room like a woman possesed:p ..
As for tips.... I have gone back to eating all the old fashioned meals..just in sensible portions now... and instead of telling myself "im on a diet" im just telling myself that i am making sensible choices for today... and its so much easier.. i get through every day as it comes... im sure you will soon be shedding the extra that you want to...

ooohhh Pigpen..i hope you and the little ones are soon feeling better...

well i had better get off and give my mum a ring..see how sis is doing now she has started her chemo.. only 4 weeks today and we will be on our way back home.. everyone keeps warning me how thin she is etc... they all keep thinking its because she is "ill".. nooooo she has been at WW for as long as i can remember and has finally done it :T ...and im in a minority who are not going to take away from her the fact she has lost her weight through hard work and determination...

well best get on..keep up the good work ladies :T

    Morning folks and welcome newbies,

Cold and wet here and I have to go food shopping, so good that I have managed to ignore the "its Saturday so food has to be bought" habit that I have been in for years...space is very gradually appearing in the freezers, need to empty at least one to take stuff for Christmas...have to make more stuffing but there is nowhere to put it, nor the mince pies or trifle sponge, not to mention bite sized muffins and fairy cakes to satisfy the small gds when they are looking for something nice.

MrsMC...frightened the life out of OH when I started laughing at the idea of me skipping at any hour of the day or night...do you know my weight and age child??

No problems with food in the morning, have had fruit and fibre with added raisins and cashews, glass orange juice and coffee. Must make bread and go shopping while it is proving.

    Good luck to all to-day

I found it!!!!! The magazine that is:j :j

Just had a quick glance and it looks ok. I found it in the newsagents near work, I'll swear there weren't any there on Friday, I go in there every day for a free paper and always look at the mags. It was the last one so it must have been waiting for me, I'll have a good look at it on the train tonight - provided I can get a seat of course .......:D

Just supplemented my lunch with a cupasoup that I found lurking at the back of the drawer, it's sooooooooo cold heere today - I'm freezing :j :j - that's jumping to get warm not for joy!!

Thanks for offering to post it on MrsM :A

Thanks for your words of wisdom Mrs M, you are right of-course!:A

It will be lovely to have a night out with DH...we don't do it often enough. My two DSs are old enough to be left, but we haven't got around to going out together for ages.

Must go and walk the dog before changing for work.

    Food for today:

    B: Special K, soya milk + OJ
1 small square HM flapjack (it's sooooo good!) ;)
L: Leftover gammon & potato mash from tea yesterday plus fresh cabbage and soya beans (green)
    Cereal bar + fruit
T: at work, so probably tomato sandwich + sugar-free jelly

Have a great day, hope all of you feeling ill and/or down, feel much better soon :A

    Afteroon Peeps,

Welcome all the newbies:T It's funny to hear that others have been reading what we get up to. Once you've finished reading this go back to the main index and have a look at how many times this thread has been viewed ~ it's shocking! To think that many people know how much I weigh! Or how potty we all are! How embarrasing :o

Being not particulaly good at the mo. Oooops, only 2 weeks til weigh day

As I don't like to fail at things and I'm very competetive I've decieded to change my campaign slightly. I decieded to see how much weight I could put on in one month , it's going very well :T God I'm Good!:rotfl:
