  • Hello wonderful people,

So, just finished my 1st day in the new job and it wasn't as dull as i'd worried it would be so fingers crossed when i really get into the swing of things it'll be a ball *not totally sure whether i'm trying to convince you all or myself here*

The weekend went realtively smoothly - lots of walking and Xmas preparations undertaken - 7 LONG hours of shopping on Saturday  but managed to get pretty much all my Xmas presents and the best part was it cost about half if wht i'd been expecting to pay out so :j and a new pair of comfy work shoes were bought with some of the spare money. DD and i made our Xmas cards and enough snowmen/father christmas' to decorate about 10 houses but it was all good fun.

    Todays food has/will be:

Breakfast: Slimfast shake and braeburn apple.

    20 minute walk to work.

Dinner: Pear. (will eat more from now on as i know what's available at work fridge/toaster/microwave/kettle etc)

Tea: Salad, chicken, boiled egg etc. Pudding is going to be upside down pineapple cake (don't know it's proper name, sorry!)

Snacks - drinking a mug of soup now - tummy was rumbling! doubt i'll have anything else - fingers crossed.

Well done to all the losers, welcome to all the newbies and *positive vibes* to those who need them x

MrsM.. everyone I know who has had chemo has piled pounds on due to the level of sickness and drugs and steroids they have to take so if your sis has lost weight it hasn't anything to do with the drugs IMO!!!

I'm off out for dinner with my mother, stepdad 2 sisters and their respective other halves.. hubby gets to stay home and put his children to bed!!

WOooo .. FOOD I don't have to cook!!

Just a quick post - needed to report that I've just had to make an extra hole in my belt - it didn't have enough holes in - so either the leather's stretched or else my belly is looking slimmer this week :rotfl:

Juliejim.... thank heavens someone has heard of it... frogga will think im cracking up otherwise ;) ..what do you think of the mag? only i don't want folks going out buying it just on my opinion :p

I like the mag too. It gives different viewpoints on things instead of sticking to one way of losing weight or another and I like the success stories!

What are we doing on pg 2, I nearly didn't find it!

Not had too bad a day today although I've just had a little bit of treacle sponge - didn't really even enjoy it so I don't know why i bothered!

Kids are in bed now, DH is away until Wednesday so I'm going to try and get some jobs done while I've got some peace!

    Hope everyone is well

  • Evening ladies and gents :D hugs to all thoose that need it esp. frogga, pigpen and rockie. Happy birthday in advance Keiss, in case I forget ( quite likely :P )

Horace - welcome ! Tips ? well from a personal point of view, as we are all working towards the same goal in slightly different OS ways :

Make as much food as you can yourself, from scratch. That way you can control better what's going into your body and not get suckered into buying " slimmers " foods or faddy miracle diet rubbish. Healthier and better value for money to cook food yourself !

It doesn't all have to be uber low fat etc - good old fashioned mums cooking is fine but watch the portion sizes ! and remember your five a day - get that fruit and veg down yer.

Snacking is not necessarily bad but think about what you're eating and when and make healthier substitutes. You shouldn't be going hungry !

Step up the exercise - walking a regular amount per day is fine.

Above all, if you fall off the wagon don't worry, this is about slowly but surely changing eating habits for life and weight loss staying off, not quick fix yoyo dieting. Tomorrow is another day :) In fact one of the best thing to do is not think of it as a diet but you are just trying to make better food choices and be more active :)

Ok so today went not brilliantly but alright :

Breakfast was a frequently interrupted rice cakes, ham, celery and apple.
Lunch was : o dear. bought cheese sarnie :( was 55p tho ! and yes I did have crisps and a diet coke, sigh. Added lots of celery and radishes though.
Dinner is scampi baked in oven, hm skin-on potato wedges & peas.

Didnt manage much of a walk because of lousy weather - I actually think the FG had a longer walk than me today !! but have finally tackled the washing up and I'll be doing about an hour more of housework before bed ! Hopefully it will stop p*ssing down with rain tomorrow so I can get out and about more.

    Evening all

well you know how I said that my wonderful blisters behaved themselves when i went for a walk? well i went to take the plasters off and  one was attatched..so i now have no skin on the full length of 1 piggie  ... i also wanted a bath..and when that toe went in  doesn't quite cover it :p .. i won't repeat some of the words that i used..verrry unlady like :o
Still hubby has come home armed with plasters, wadding and tape :T all liberated from work ;) ..as like it or not..these toes will be going back in my boots tomorrow and out for a walk:rotfl: .. i have had a leaflet for a store and they have a bag that holds 30 litres and will take upto 25 kilos... but it has a teloscopic handle so if it is to heavy you can turn it into a trolley :T seems a great idea for me as i can carry it unless i get carried away in the shops..and at under 15euros....about £11 i think its a bargain.. just have to trundle out and see if i can find the street it is on

    hi pigpen..
my sis only started chemo last thursday.. i think folks are looking that she had a radical hysterectomy as she had a 16lb "mass" floating in a bag of 4litres of fluid attatched to one ovary  ... still she is dealing with chemo ok so far :T . I know how much effort she had put into losing weight but was left looking 9 months pregnant as that mass had pushed all her organs up and made her tummy huge.. now it has a nice "zip" scar bless her..

Hels_Bells... glad your 1st day at work went well..... its brilliant that you have use of all mod cons... will hopefully make eating healthily easier, and at least you will be able to get something warm to keep you going :T

juliejim..glad you like the mag..its nice to have something that doesn't just focus on 1 "diet" isnt it...

woohoo frogga... now mrs you can't go round changing the rules :rotfl: ..come on -you will be fine..you still have 2 weeks to get your head back in the right frame of mind....you KNOW you CAN do it...

well i didn't end up with weetabix for dinner.. i had porridge with dried apple n sultanas in :p and have had some clementines too....

hubbies soup is out the freezer for lunch - veg and lentil... and he wants pasta bake for dinner..so i have taken a pot of bolognaise out of the freezer too..... heck this cooking lark is hard work :rotfl: .. I don't think i will be having pasta bake either  just doesn't float my boat at the moment.. so i may have seafood stick and Krautsalat (treated myself to a pot today..haven't had any for a couple of months)... then again i may have weetabix:p

well i hope that everyone is feeling better, and we have all had a good day :T keep at it folks..we are getting there :j

hellooo kittyscarlet..you popped in whilst i was typing.. didn't want to miss you out!

I think I might have to join Frogga's weight gain club after what I've put away today......eating a bag of crisps whist reading a slimming mag and emptying the cake box tonight:eek:
Got home to find OH in bed with a stomach bug - nice!!!!
Anyway, I enjoyed reading that mag and did pick up a few pointers so trotted off to Tesco's and bought some nice fruit and some hot chocolate drinks for those choccie moments, forgot the cupasoups though. I also bumped into a girl I used to work with - superslim and really attractive, there was me in my baggy trackies and baglady coat with no make up on:eek: and her telling me how well I looked - yeah, right!:p

    Fresh start tomorrow - again!!
I'll get the hang of this one day!:A

    Good evening everyone

Glad everyone has made it through Monday. Welcome to all new losers and tryers.

MrsM I really feel for your poor tootsies - what about those party feet gel thingys to cushion the sore bits until they heal. Tho' once you've "burned" them in they'll never blister again.

Been a blessing to be back at work today and away from the fridge and cute cream tea shops, crisps...did I say that:rolleyes:?

    Today's eats:-
    B - 2 weetabix with s milk, OJ
L - hm leek and potato soup, left over roast veg from last night (didn't eat much as cold courgette, aubergine etc not nice at all:eek:yuck!) 8 grapes, 1 satsuma
D - dhall, cauliflower and 2 tbsp rice follwed by s-free jelly, few raspberries
Snacks - apple, another satsuma and a 40 cal hot choc
Walked for 40 mins (2 weeks ago this route took me 1 hour):Tyeh. I'm going to extend my routes tomorrow.

Back into the un-stretching and unforgiving works suits today - no weight gain, but no loss. Really going to go for it in the next month and have those trousers hanging off me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
