Hey everyone, back again for my daily confession
SO far this week is going really well BUT i'm having a girlies tonight to celebrate my new job so it's lucky it has been
Todays eats have been:
Breakfast: Slimfast shake and mango.
Dinner: Turkey stirfry and a braeburn apple.
Tea: I think it will spag bol again as my friend is cooking and it's the only thing i've ever had at hers despite going round once a day most weeks :rotfl:
I will stick to vodka and soda water/slimline tonic and try my best to resist the lovely selection of rose wine she always has in - wish me luck!0 -
Hello everyone - not been on for a couple of days as the site hasn't been letting me in - it keeps freezing when I try to get into forums. Just got on now but can't stay on long because we are in the middle of world war 3 here at the moment. Ex OH has discovered that DD1(17 and stroppy) has been having biblical knowledge of a boy and has gone ballistic. I must admit that I am very disappointed in her but I am realistic enough to know that I can't stop her, but he is like a lunatic and she has a temper that matches his so there is much screaming and door slamming going on. Good job that DD2 is out at orchestra practice!
Anyway - still doing the "no-diet" approach and it is weird but okay. I went out for lunch today to a Harvester restaurant and had no starter or sweet, but had the half chicken with salad bar (had some coleslaw) and a drink of apple juice, and had had two slices of wholemeal toast with mushrooms for breakfast and now (just after 5pm) I am not craving anything, in fact, I am not all that hungry. I will have something when I do get hungry. I bought the stuff to make Mrs M's corned beef hash today, but think it might be a bit much for tonight so will probably make it tomorrow - tonight I might just have cereal or a boiled egg - see how I feel. I agree with Mrs M - it is quite liberating not to be counting points, or syns, or whatever and I haven't been preoccupied like I usually am with food.
I was in Mr T's before and they had frozen free range turkeys half price and I was tempted to get on account of the bird flu (I am a terrible hypochondriac and last night's news really scared me:o ), but I don't know if I have room to store it.
I also didn't buy any stodge in Mr T's - I got a few bikkies for lunchboxes but that was all. I also got some Activia yoghurts to try as I do get real bloating and thought they might help.
Will now go and read all the posts before I go and try and see if I can smooth the waters with ex and DD1 so (((hugs))) to those who need them and well done to all the losers.Jane

Recovering Spendaholic...only one thing to advise on the war between exOH and DD1....don't get between them!
Lunch to-day was, as planned, leftover soup...not as much as I thought but lots of veg in it, and an onion sandwich, one of my favourite things.
D. beef stew and potatoes and half a naan bread...hm. There was also the matter of the forkful of sardine that DGS2 left behind...nothing else planned for to-night, do have some sugar free jelly in fridge, might give that a go if need something.
Mrs MCC you should try fennel braised in chicken stock and sprinkled with coarse sea salt...have become very fond of it in all ways since I discovered that we can grow it very easily, agree with you on kohl rabi, very seldom seen in shops here, have yet to try romanesco.
Love to all,

Evening ladies:T
Recovering spendaholic - stay out of the way!! I used to have cataclysmic rows with my Dad (many, many years ago) but my Mum used to sit knitting and let us get on with it!! It'll soon calm down.;)
I'm not hungry yet!:D Had my snackajacks at tea break but despite stopping in town to do a bit of window shopping and getting the later train I'm still not ready for my teaSomeone earlier said about it being theraputic posting what we eat for all to see and I think they're right, I'm really starting to think about what I'm eating now......probably lose the plot again at the weekend though! :rotfl:
Anyway, I'm having sweet potato stew with couscous when I feel the need to eat and I might have a yoghurt or a choc ice for pud.:D
I went for a swim at lunchtime and I've had my usual hour of walking as part of my commute so plenty of exercise today :j :j
Enjoy your evening!

evening!
not read the thread yet but will catch up in a mo!
Had my weigh in and have lost another half a pound:j not bad as I've been off the rails a bit this week - been a stressful week:rolleyes: but only 4 and a half pounds to go till my target!:D
Hope you've all had a good few days, have been at work since yesterday morning.
back later when I've caught up!
newlywed - when I've got the urge for choccie I sometimes have a low cal hot choc such as cadburys Highlights as they are only about 40 calories!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Grr, typed big long post then hit the back button on my mouse by accident and lost it. Have had a rubbish day today. I brought scales from town and discovered I'm a stone heavier than I thought I was. So thats now almost 5st to loss instead of 4 and that sounds so much more. And 5lbs of that is boobs, no wonder I get back ache!! Also has to go to the job centre which always puts me in a bad mood, so sick of job hunting and getting nothing. And then there was the rude old lady on the bus who pushed in front of me to get on muttering loudly about how she had been waiting half an hour and i'ld only just turned up. Well excuse me for knowing when the bus goes!! Bah, thats my rant over. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week tho. Starting Latin dance classes with a couple of friends tomorrow night and then I'm off to my best friends for the weekend for some proper girly time.
MrsM, I second your opinion of fennel, bleh!
Does anyone have any good recipes for spinach? I have loads left thats gonna go soggy and nasty soon.
Food today was:
Brekkie: fruit and fibre with ss milk
Lunch: Couscous (my current addiction) and a little bakewell tart
Tea: HM steak and mushroom pie and HM jam slice for pud.
Snacks: Slice of chocolate log (post scales disaster) and a 10p flump marshmallow.
Right, going to post this without lossing it this time I hope!I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
Evening all - made low-sugar jelly for the 1st time, wow it's tasty:D.
AliBow I think you are very brave weighing yourself, I'm too scared and for now can only face thinking about dress size.
What about a light fragrant curry for the spinach, mix it up with other veg you have in store.0 -
Hya folks
Feeling much better now. :T:T
Got into work this evening (working 5pm to 9pm) and there was a note from my colleague who was very abrupt (if not down right rude...and wrong!) to me yesterday. She apologized for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, and for not thanking me when I had held the fort single-handed for the whole morning. :j
I had talked to one of my other colleagues as to how upset I was yesterday, so she must have had a word. That's all I want, to be appreciated for the work that I do and not be accused incorrectly. So I have come on to email her a thankyou...:A I am not back at work until Monday now.
As to what I have eaten today:
B: Special K berries + Soya milk +OJ
4 funsize Mars Bars (better than the 5 yesterday!)
L: Banana sandwich (wholemeal bread)
Tesco healthy cereal bar
T: Fish-sticks and salad with slice of wholemeal bread + orange sugar-free jelly with mandarins...yummmy!
Not too bad, but I must kick the Mars Bar habit...seems to rear its ugly head when I am down and trying to get my teacher-training homework done! Been trawling through loads of procedures, policies and legislation today....aaargh...still I can see the end of the tunnel and it's approaching fast.
Off to iron a couple of shirts then cycle a few km on the bike before bed. Caught most of "Heroes" when I got back from work, DS1 has recorded it, so I can watch it all through another day...what a load of lovely looking guys there are there...and a few nasties!
Night, night everyone and thanks for listening....usually I end up on a downer for days rather than just a few hours...so thanks guys...especially Mrs M !

Thanks KatKin. I usually go by clothes size as well but if I'm going to stick at this I'd like to know that its going even if I don't see it at first. I've seen a really nice top in new look and I wanna be able to buy it in a 14 rather than a 16 to wear at christmas so thats my current target.
Curry for the spinach sounds nice but not sure sis and her bf would eat it (they're fussier than a couple of kids, very annoying!) Might make some for my lunch tho and use the rest up in a flan
Keiss, you sneeked in there whilst I was typing. Heroes was great tonight. Peter Petrelli is my currect eye candy (especially future him mmm) along with Robin and Guy from BBCs Robin Hood. Waiting for Dr Who to come back so I can continue to droll over david tennant heehee.I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
Keiss, glad you're feeling better, its nice when someone admits they were in the wrong
Alibow don't get despondent about the weighing - 5st or 4st makes really not as much difference as you think - because its alll going to come off bit by bit and stay off ! With the spinach - give it a rinse and wilt it down ready for adding to another dish - personally I love it added to mashed potato, omelettes or soup.
MrsM, bath chaps are basically cured cooked pigs cheek - my mum remembers eating them bought from the old International stores years ago, she recalls that they were breadcrumbed. They're a bit fatty but if cooked properly can be very tender and tasty meat. They did used to be a cheap tidbit but they're blimmin' hard to get hold of these days !
Today went pretty well. Breakfast - 2 ricecakes, ham, a banana and a cuppa.
Lunch - vege sushi box from Waitrose - was very surprised, had 7 pieces in it, less than 200 calories and very filling ! Dinner was the rest of last nights venison steaks thinly sliced, beetroot salad with orange vinaigrette, hm waldorf salad with half low fat mayo half yoghurt, baked potato and apple juice, I enjoyed every mouthful. Also got in about 1/2 half brisk walk, have just had a couple of squares of dark chocolate and a bath and I feel great !
also was toying with slightly mad food challenge idea whilst in the bath, about a REALLY " Old Style " eating month... hehehe ... I won't be able to do it just yet as needs some preparation plus I would have to be using modern implements but...8rubs hands together in Monty Burns style as she plots away*" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams..
