  • Madsmum - is it possible to either not have at all or very minimum amounts of choc/cakes/biscuits in the house ? as that way if you are really craving them you have to make the effort to go out and get them rather than having quantities on hand that you can start ploughing through. hm healthier cakes and freeze them in portions helps too. You don't have to be hungry but try filling up on fruit and veg at your " proper " meals, and making different choices as to snacking - a piece or two of maltloaf, fresh and dried fruit, oatcakes/ricecakes, maybe a small bowl of cereal, bit of wholemeal toast with jam or honey, may be able to satisfy the need for sweet things without doing too much damage. The balance lies in not denying yourself things without overdoing it - we all swing in one direction or the other at some point tho :)

I didn't dilly dally i walked at a good brisk pace.. well i wouldn't have been able to hold a conversation if i was with anyone!!! I just picked up a couple of mags and im going to have a hot soak and a pamper..well beats a bar of choc ;) .....

Really don't fancy liver casserole for my dinner  ..had my weetabix for brekkie and then a pork steak and a bit of veg and a couple of apples for lunch... really fancy something quite plain for dinner..so i think im having weetabix :p ... have a new loaf not long out of the oven..so think i will do hubby beans n cheese on toast for a change..he loves it...eughhhhh

Hi there madsmum.....you said the dreaded "D" word:eek: .... convince yourself you arent on a D***... just a healthier way of eating, it makes it so much easier ;) I have to agree with kittyscarlett...again ;) .. If you really really want something then you won't mind walking to get it.. sometimes its just because you know its there..
Could you perhaps treat yourself to 1 thing you really really like on the day you do your weekly shop.... and then sit down and enjoy every last little bit -thats what i was doing initially but after the 2nd week i actually found i didn't bother as i didn't really fancy anything...
Don't give up, there is room for those nice little treats.. its just a case of balancing it with the healthier options.... I'm sure you will get through this icky patch...
