Morning ladies!:j
Nice to hear that everyone is alive and well - including Frogga:T
Mrs M - how do you keep up with who says wot?
I had a good day yesterday, made stuffed mushrooms and cajun spiced wedges for tea then apart from a small glass of wine I had nothing else!!!!!
I was watching Paul McKenna on QVC though...........
Today I've had porridge with sultanas and a few almonds, just had half a banana (the other half was all bruised) and a cereal bar. I've got a wrap with hummus/couscous/salad for lunch and some grapes and snackajacks for later.
Tea will be ?????? depending on what I fancy when I get in!
I measured myself this morning, I'm marginally slimmer than I was in August despite being a few pounds heavier so all this walking must be paying off:j :j My work trousers are definitely looser round the legs :j
Have a good day all!!:A0 -
I'm feeling better today from my cold. Husband has the sneezes now.
Just had breakfast.
Grapefruit segments, oat cheerios, home made toast and marmalade, coffee.
Last night was a disaster though, BUT today is another day.0 -

Hi there wilf55
You know when you made your stock..did you throw the skin out first? if not then that might be why its greasy... but never the mind..lets see what we can turn it into...
Right i would :-- peel and chop up some carrots and onions (and a couple of potatoes if you have any),
- put a drop of oil or a bit of butter in a big pan and cook the veg over a low heat for a few mins... try not to let them brown.... (you can throw some chopped leeks in there to if you like)
- ...... then i would throw in about 2tbsp flour (any will do. stir well whilst keeping over the heat....
- pour your stock in through a sieve... stir well and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat..put a lid on and simmer until the veggies are soft...just pop back and give it a stir from time to time...
- add plenty of seasoning and then either blitz with a hand held blender of in the liquidiser.....
- then if you have any chicken left over..even the bits from the bones..throw them in and warm through
that should give you a basic chicken soup....
If you have a tin of sweet corn in..i posted a recipe for chicken n sweetcorn soup on here somewhere...let me know if you can't find it and i will type it again:D
Hi there just spotted that you have noodles.... if you break some up you can throw them into the soup when you are heating it through with the chicken in.... do it over a nice low heat and they should cook and absorb the flavour from your soup(you may need to add a drop of water towards the end a s they will thicken it up too... a handfull of frozen peas if you have any would be nice too... to contrast with the "creamy" soup
hope this works for you-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
hi thanks I left the skin on but have just put it in the fridge to try and get some fat and grease off
i dont want to put everyone off home cooking with disasters!!!!
pregnant daughter nearly threw up last night at the carcass boiling away !!!Save 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -
Good morning (just)
Well...my carrot and ginger soup is merrily simmering away, just need to wait until the carrots are softish and then will blitz up. That's going to be lunch and possibly dinner, depends if I have enough time to make anything else when I come home from work later (I don't tend to get home 'til 8.30pm).
Breakfast was fruit and yoghurt. Snack was half a carrot (I have loads) and snack later will be a satsuma. Hopefully that will keep me going.

Please can I join? I finally got the nerve up to weigh myself a couple of days ago and am back up to 12st 2 which since I'm only 5'2 is way too much. All my clothes are too tight. My winter coat won't button around the bum
and it cost a fortune so I am NOT buying a new one. And I'm having to wear scarves all the time to hide the *ahem* overhang out of my bra!
I am good on the exercise front most of the time, gym 4-5 times pw, proper programme and all the works. Need to start walking more though, depressingly walking is uncomfortable now cos I have a dodgy knee and the extra weight really doesn't help!
But oh dear food is really my downfall. I've been overeating this past while. First of all a holiday, then busy at work. Excuses coming out of my ears. I need to cut out the sweet stuff altogether and cut back on the drinking. I don't drink much, very rarely more than 2 glasses of red at a time, but trouble is that food tastes so good with wine and all sense of self control goes. So max 2 drinking days per week, preferably one! And cutting way way back on the cheese *sob* although it is one of my passions in life.
I am definitely up for doing this the oldstyle way cos the supposedly weightloss ready meals etc are too depressing for words. I'd almost rather not eat. Almost
I know I can lose 1lb a week without feeling too deprived but it will be really great for me having somewhere to check in. Ideally if I could be down towards 11 and a half stone by Xmas at least my clothes wouldn't look like they're spraypainted on! I will also endeavour to come on here at least once a day to check in!
Good luck to everyone else, I've been scanning some of the posts and you're all going great guns, it's really inspirational!0 -
Pigpen - you are walking fast then i run
I always walk fast.. and I walk miles.. I have legs like a rugby player.. most unflattering with a skimpy skirt.. lol Plus you use more muscles jogging than walking.. I can't jog it is too much impact on my poor decrepit knees!!!!
I did a mile and a half in 20 minutes earlier with a buggy loaded up to the sky with shopping!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I'm back! Had a lovely ride too. The police in Ipswich were holding up the traffic today looking for cars with red deisel in them. The traffic jams were HUGE and I just whizzed past them all:j It was VERY satisfying!:T
I love red cabbage xx It's yummy
Hope you are all doing ok today , and if not , how about starting on Monday along with the "I'm a Celebrity ....." lot. I'm not suggesting Rice and Beans only or anything like that, but we could join in on a "no Luxuries" thing. You know how I like little targets:T
Oh and MrsM , as much as it pains me so admit it , I think you are pretty wonderful too you know. The way you always give advice and a friendly little chat is very heartwarming, even if you were talking about pulling skin off a dead chicken:eek:Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Hi all,
I'm doing really badly. I can't seem to cut out the cake/chocolates. In fact I'm eating more now than before the diet! I'm eating this rubbish instead of proper meals, which is seriously unhealthy. Any advice?
