2lb loss in a year is way better than gaining any

Feel proud - and think how much better you are doing now

I'm just happy I weigh less than I did before I gave birth.. 3 years ago!! lol.. I still can't work out how I put on 5.5 stone and had a baby that weighed 5lb 10!!

    Todays menu was..

Breakfast.. skipped as I had to take bunnies and a cat to the vet.. I lost £44 there!! Does that count?

Lunch.. rice krispies.. with a gallon of SS milk and 2 desserts spoons of sugar.. that IS an improvement on 3!!

Dinners.. 2 potato awfuls, 1 hot dogs and 2 turkey burpers. And a slice of almond loaf.

I had to have a tesco value caramel wafer on the way back from school as my blood sugar hit rock bottom and I started to shake and feel faint and sick... that is the truth.. I'm not even trying to make myself feel better about scoffing it.. I had nothing else in my bag.

I am fighting against scarfing a dozen packets of tesco value snacks as well.. I LOVE the cheesy puffs!!!!!!!!!

  • Hello everyone - well today went better than expected until about an hour ago, but it could have been worse... I had my baked apple for breakfast, a tuna jacket potato (no butter or any coleslaw as I would usually) for lunch and then at tea time I wasn't hungry so thought I would wait and see how I got on. DD1 was in full drama queen mode and wouldn't eat the lovely chinese (fried rice, noodles and ribs) which I had done for her and DD2 because the boyfriend was coming round and "he doesn't like chinese" so there was ructions when I refused to make them something different. Anyway a friend phoned and I had a nice chat with her for about three quarters of an hour and then I realised that I was hungry so I had some grilled bacon and two slices of wholemeal bread, but that didn't fill me so then I had two ryvitas, three shortbreads and a mince pie, and I picked at the chicken I had cooked for tomorrow. Not a full blown binge so I have to think positive but I do feel a bit iffy now - too full really. BUT I am going to get acupuncture tomorrow for weight loss and for my general despondency so that might help - has anyone tried it?

Niece's hamper is lovely Mrs M. I bought some bits for Christmas today, but I daren't buy any edible stuff as it will be too tempting - I just got some bubble bath and some High School Musical and Horrid Henry bits for DD2's stocking.

hope you are all having a nice evening. I was looking forward to Doc Martin, but was really let down by the ending...

Right! Frogga...go to bed, I think that you have said quite enough for one day....don't you get up early in the morning?? MrsMc, don't be nice to her, she will just walk over you if you are!

Since last on I have eaten another apricot and am now considering some of the jelly with some yogurt which I don't think has many more days life left and it was extremely expensive stuff that I bought in a health food shop.

    Sleep well everybody

    :hello: Hello,

Although i'm not particularly on a diet at the mo this is one of my favourite recipies and is taken from a well known slimming club, and is very oldstyle.
I wanted to share it with you all, i did check if it had been posted but couldn't find it anywhere. Hope someone finds it useful.

I find this freezes fantastically, and is great to just zap in a microwave for lunch at work.

    Green day speed soup

    1 can mixed bean salad
    1 can green lentils
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can of baxed beans
    Handful of split red lentils
    2 Large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 Medium carrots
    2 parsnips
Half of each a red green and yellow pepper (or any u have)
    2 stock cubes
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Pinch of mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all the ingredients)

Prep the veg, and throw the lot into a large pan, bring to the boil abd simmer for 45 - 60 mins

It can be left chunky or blended down. On its own it is fab, really comforting, I also use it on pasta and rice.I like it quite chunky and have even used it as a jacket potato topping.

Approx portion cost (generous portion) £0.88!

Old style amendments - I'm sure you could use a slow cooker for this. Also I'm sure you could swap some of the veg for whatever you have. I've used my own tomatoes blended down before. I have also added extra tomatoes (extra tin). Also have left out the stock cubes, not quite as nice but still very edible.
Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while and now i'm joining in (if thats ok). I'm 5'3", 23 and last time I braved the scales i was about 13 and a half stone, although I blame my chest for at least a stone of that lol. Doc keeps telling me too lose weight and I'm very good at trying for about a week then giving up but this time I'm determined to stick with it. Motivating myself with the idea of buying new clothes in the january sales. I'm currently setting up my own online business from home so gym fees are out of the question and I'm missing out on the running around at work exercise. However, it does mean I get to cook most of the meals for my very fussy household. Last week I nabbed my sisters workout dvd and have been trying to do some of that every day, was feeling lazy today tho so settled for a good dance around my room to some super cheesy 90s pop!

Anyway, today I've had: a bowl of honey shreddies with ss milk, some spicy couscous for lunch and hm chicken and beef (using up yesterdays left overs) curry with mushrooms and broccoli and a slice of strawberry cheesecake for pud. Also had half a wispa and a hot chocolate this evening. So not too bad but could have done better.

I'm done rambling on about me now!
    I'm through accepting limits
    'Cuz someone says they're so
    Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!

    Hello everyone
Well done to all the losers, regulars and newbies. :T:T:T:T

Weighed in this morning...another 3 pound off!! Yipeee :j:j:j!

I had hoped for a little bit more, but that is 9 pounds in 4 weeks...pretty good when all I am doing is eating less and exercising a bit more....IT WORKS!

Had a great weekend away at my sister's. On Friday managed to only drink one glass of wine, and had none on Saturday....much better than the 5 or 6 bottles my sister and I usually get through!

I was in London on the Saturday, and as the tube was a shambles, I walked to and from Paddington Station to Imperial College on Exhibition Road. This was my exercise on a day spent mostly in a heated, non-airconditioned , stuffy, fully packed lecture theatre. The talks were very good and there was lots of food (I avoided the morning muffins, but succumbed to one slice of the afternoon cake!). Lunch was a buffet, and I stuck to a couple of sandwiches, salad and a couple of chicken kebabs. I also had fresh fruit for "pudding". Back at my sister's for tea, I could only eat half of the spag bol that she served up for me...she was quite shocked!

I am finding easier every day to eat less, even if it is something I really like, I can only manage a small amount.

    Today's food:

B: Special K, soya milk and OJ
Tesco maple cereal bar (healthy eating...honest!)
L: Chicken thigh (dry roast) left over from Sunday tea + beetroot
    Handful of grapes
T:HM Toad in the hole, carrots + broccoli & 2 profiteroles from Mr T (DSs had rest!)

I could only face 2 profiteroles...I usually fight for 3 or 4! I also had quite a small portion of toad...the boys really enjoyed getting mega portions! DH flew to Switzerland today, returning on Wed night, so boys have made the most of it food wise so far. Must sort out something for the two of then tomorrow night as I am working 5 to 9...pizza I think...HM perhaps if there is none left in the freezer. We are down to our last one or two pizzas from Morrisons where it was buy one, get 2 free!

Must stop now and get to sleep...up early to make sure boys get up...not working 'til late tomorrow, so can walk dog once family have gone. She doesn't like being walked down the fields in the dark. Then it's on to get my first teacher training homework done...about 900 words due on Thursday. Must check on the various sites online we were given to look at.

Hope you are all well and enjoying life...even if the pounds are refusing to go ...wouldn't it be good if it our fat pounds disappeared as fast as our £££s at this time of year!:D:D

Will drop in later this week hopefully...I should really pop in more regularly, as it takes me ages to read all the new posts.;)
