Um cute 'n' quirky ? if you read Gingham Ribbon's post at the beginning of this thread, you will note that Cambridge diet and it's ilk are not part of healthier eating or losing weight OS. I wish you luck with it but it's not appropriate to promote it on this thread. Thanks" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0

Hi there cute
Its the "old style" bit you are missing..this thread was set up to use in conjunction with OS... cooking from scratch and buying good, basic, seasonal ingredients to do it with..
No-one is having a go at the way you are choosing to lose weight... but this thread was given to us on the understanding that it was for OS weight loss etc..-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
*pantpuff trying to keep up with all the posts* well that’s my exercise for the day then
good eve tryers, losers, newbies and those having a hard time
Welcome aimeelister – your meal plan for the day sounds yummy ! hmmm but couldn’t you have found an OS use for your little pressy from the cat, a casservole perhaps ? Ok ok I’ll get me coat… :P
Huge hugs to recovering – I understand the pressure of being concious that you have to lose weight which leads you to rebel and say O sod it… please please try and not let it get you down, try and relax, take it one day and one meal at a time, no one here thinks badly of you – and as my mum would say " ar*se’oles " to that so called friend who made that incredibly stupid comment. Same to you Frogga – I hate that gyppy painful tum feeling after overdoing it so have another hug, make some mint tea or something if you don’t find it yukkyand tomorrows another day J
MrsM those hampers do look lovely - you're going to have a lot of fun filling them and I'm sure they will be very much appreciated ! I did my mum and stepdad one each for their respective birthdays this year. My mum I got a copy of a book on british regional food and put some locally produced goodies in a basket for her - cheeses, biscuits, jams, chutneys, eggs etc. My stepdad was always moaning that you can't get a proper cuppa from teabags so I made him up his own one man teamaking kit, teapot, strainer, teacup, milk jug, tea, diabetic biccies etc, he loved it ! and go for the shopping trolley - you see younguns with them now and also think how eco friendly they are too - I'd buy one but I always have tenants eager to lend me theirs, LOL.
Quite pleased with myself today. Had hectic as hell work morning but still managed to eat decently. Breakfast - 2 rice cakes with cold chicken and cranberry and a banana, lunch hm wholemeal cheese and branston sandwich, celery and apple, chocolate biscuit, and dinner will be lamb steaks, roast pots & pasrnips, cauli cheese and mashed swede/carrot from the freezer. Didn't get out for a walk today but plenty of rushing around and am going to do some housework before bed tonight. Also managed to avoid temptation to scoff chocolate coated mulled wine raisins that need to be sent a pressie to a friend asap and didnt feel tempted by crisps or choc at all in the shop earlier
Have a good evening all

Since when?
Since this post, the first post in the thread by Gingham Ribbon, easily accessible and readable by all :
"Hi everyone. As some of you know there's been some discussion lately on how to accomodate weight loss diets on the board. It was decided that the daily isn't the place for campaigns of any sort and that there was a very good weight loss thread on the I wanna board which would offer excellent support to anyone wishing to join.
The board guides have talked about this and we'd like to accomodate a weight loss campaign the OLD STYLE way here. However, in order for it to fit with the board, it should be about scratch cooking and healthy eating, NOT about where to get low calorie/fat ready meals cheaply or fad diets.
So, here it is. The Lose Weight the Old Style Way thread. This thread is for support in losing weight but in order to keep it true to the board - which is about money saving the old style way, there are going to be some posting guidelines.
Important. Please read:
The thread should be about healthy, old style eating. That means recipes and meal plans, support and encouragement and healthy eating. What shouldn't be accomodated here is if the thread goes off topic and covers ready meals, fad diets and weight loss clubs. There is a good thread that covers all that on the 'I wanna' board. So if the thread becomes an extention of that, we will have to close it and ask people to join in there instead.
Enjoy and good luck!
FURTHER DETAILS TO BE FOUND here. "
So please, no more soapbox here about the Cambridge diet/Lighter Life in all its incarnations ( or snippy comments about what we on this board should or shouldn't be eating ). There is a place for all that on MSE but this thread is not that placeThank you.

Hi,
Thought I would post today - I have been reading this thread with interest, so thought I would join you. Don't expect too many posts I mainly just lurk. But I am taking inspiration from your comments.
I am currently trying to lose weight - well, actually I shouldn't say 'I am trying', but I should be more positive and say I am losing weight.
I have lost 1.5 stones in the last 8 weeks, so not doing too bad. I have an exercise referal to the local gym from my GP - cheap exercise, but she also signed me up to a weight loss program - the aim being to lose 5% of your body weight in 12 weeks, the dietician is very keen that weight loss is slow (1lb per week) to ensure it stays off.
My daily diet is fairly boring, melon, bolied egg and slice of bread for breakfast, salad for lunch, fruit in between and yougurt. Problem is main meals at home.
I have two toddlers who we are trying to encourage to eat healthily, their diet is fairly bland. they love roast chicken dinners, sausages, pasta and peas, chicken wraps, but do not tend to like anything in sauces.
I had been cooking shepards pie, lasagna, macaroni cheese for them - but I think it made me fat. I am mostly trying to avoid cheese.
So I do want some inspiration for main meals - that do not have too much carbohydrate for me.
Good luck to all
