Morning all. Feeling very
today. Not sure why fully (except it's to do with OH). Think he's PMT-ing but I won't be allowed to use that excuse next week :mad:
Anyway, made what was meant to be veg soup in the slow cooker on Saturday but I couldn't be bothered to put it in the blender (too much washing up) so it's more of a veg stew and will be testing it for my lunch today.
Yesterday made slow cooker chilli (which will be tonight's tea).
Tomorrow will be the first day of trying the slow cooker when we're not at home
Liking the whole idea of chuck it all in and leave it for hours whilst it cooks itself
OH has decided not to eat any carbs with meals - just meat and veg, so no pasta, no rice, no wraps etc. That's great but tonight was meant to be toad in the hole - so then what?
Next week is meant to be risotto - well I'm still going to have that - goodness knows what I'll cook for him
Have confession to make - OH took us out for pizza express and I had a non-cheese pizza - but then gave in and had a chocolate sunday!!
Also made MrsM's low fat banana and honey cake and it's not cut into 20 piecesIt's good though and some of it is in the freezer
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning ladies:hello: Hope you all had a good weekend!
(((((hugs))))) to RS and all those who are struggling - including me
OH had a rare Sunday off yesterday so we went out for lunch - pasta bake and veggies for me so not bad.....then we had tea and buns in the afternoon. We got home and I made a sandwich.....then another...then some crisps...then the choccy biccies...... WHY??????? I've got plenty of healthy stuff in the house so why do I eat rubbish!
Today I've had porridge with sultanas and a few almonds, just had a kids snack piece of cheese and a banana. Soup for lunch with a granary roll. Tea may be stuffed mushrooms depending on what time I get home (car in for preMOT service :eek: so I have to collect) or beans on toast.
I will try to be good tonight, I might be better as I have the car so might do a bit of clothestype/window shopping for a bit of self-encouragement IYKWIM....0 -
Morning everyone - and thankyou for your kind comments. Frogga - I don't think you should have kept your mouth shut as what you said was really true. I do need to get the binge thing sorted out and taking it an hour at a time is not something I have ever tried before so I am doing that today. I had the usual struggle to get DD1 (17 and very stroppy) up and out to college and ended up driving the 36 miles there and back to make sure she actually went, so didn't have any time for breakfast. Now I am back at home I have just made a cup of tea and have made a baked apple in the microwave, stuffed with a tbs of oats and raisins and a bit of splenda. I will eat that when it has cooled a little as a kind of late breakfast/snack. I am going to Costco with my friend at lunchtime and will get a salad there as we get lunch when we go, and then I will try and get through till tea time without overeating. I have just put a batch of natural yoghurt in the yoghurt maker - I rashly bought some "Simply Yoghurt" from Ideal World a few months back and I have to say, when I can be bothered to make it, it is just lovely - MUCH nicer than shop bought stuff, so I will hopefully have some of that later on with some chopped walnuts and honey.
Mrs M, your hampers look fantastic!
Hope you are all having a good day.Jane

Hello everyone :hello: ,
Well done to all the losers and more *positive vibes* to those who need them!
I'm not the most experimental cook in the world but after all the inspiration i've had from this wonderful thread i've made myself curried sweet potato and red lentil soup for lunch and it was DELICIOUS so thank you to all you lovely people because before joining this thread i'd never had tried something so different and i was really missing out so :kisses3: to all of you wonderfully inspiring people.
I had a relatively good weekend, switched from my usual white wine tipple to vodka and soda water and not only did it save massively on calories i didn't have a hangover and that's the all important factor.
Todays meals have/will be:
Breakfast: Slimfast shake and oj.
Dinner: Curried sweet potato and red lentil soup with a hm wholemeal roll. Mango for pudding.
Tea: Will be 'odds and sods' so salad, new potatoes, chicken, boiled eggs etc so will just pick what i fancy depending how hungry i feel at the time really. Pudding will be passion fruit and soya yoghurt.
Snacks will be rice cakes and fruit as usual.
Have so far drunk 1.5 litres of the dreaded water - it really is getting a lot easier to drink it despite it's 'meh-ness'. :rolleyes:
Have done 30 minutes on my bike when i woke up, and also had a leisurely stroll to the market and back was out and about for an hour and it really has helped with my mood today - been feeling fairly down recently without really knowing why but there does appear to be light at the end of the tunnel at last.
Anyways, i'll stop nattering now and hope to catch up with all the weekend posts! x0 -
Hi all, especially Frogga, who will sulk if I don't mention her by name!
Today is the first day of the rest of my life!
I have eaten:
1 pear;
ham salad sandwich;
one fresh apricot;
grilled lamb chop;
swede mashed with onion and lots of pepper;
potato wedges hm... about a large spud.
If those of you who worry about falling off the wagon could see my bruises from the same activity you would stop feeling guilty.
Made a pint of sugar free jelly and may have some of that later on if I really need it, otherwise couple of carrots while I put tomorrow's soup together...I think that soup may be my saviour as it is so easy to put together and different spices and herbs mean that you are not having the same taste every day.
Good luck to all

Evening ladies!
I've had glamorgan sausages, SW chips and cabbage for my tea. I did have a kiddies cheese stick when I got in as I was starving
I'd had a bag of snackajacks before I left work but the walk from the station to the garage was further than I though so I must have burnt them off :rotfl: :rotfl:
I've not had any pud yet, so I'll have either a yoghurt or a choc ice while I watch Corrie. I can't be bothered going window shopping - it's too cold and I have to go out later to collect himself from work :mad: but that should (hopefully) keep me out of the cupboards as I will have to go out at the time the munchies usually strike :eek:0 -
Evening all
Hope we have all had a good day :T
Hat a poddle out this morning to the garden centre place ...again - and got some more baskets/boxes for my hampers... oooh i do like bargains:p .. got a deep whicker basket, lined with hessian and it was roughly £4.50 :j have decided it will be ideal for the "beer hamper"... got another basket for about £3.50 and a couple of raw pine boxes with hinged lids..that im making into the kids goody hampers... plus it was an hour n 15mins worth of walking
Here is one for my neice..may have to tweak it a little..but at just over £10 im happy:p
been out this evening to a supermarket i haven't tried before..(all the goodies.still untouched;) ) got a bottle of organic cherry wine -for another hamper for £1.50 :rotfl: and a 3lt box of wine.. but its shaped like a mini barrel for £3 :j if they had got more i would have nabbed em..and some really nice beers 5 bottles plus a lovely tall beer glass for £3.30 ...got 2 different kinds.. im going to put the glasses and 1 bottle into the beer hamper and get some more to go with it and the other bottles will go into other hampers... not bad for about 65p a bottle
whilst we were out i spotted a supermarket that is within walking distance :j .. so im planning on popping there in the morning to see what its like... then it might ne somewhere i can have a walk a few times a week - for extra exercise and to get some fresh air during the week;) .... you don't know how close i am to buying a "wally trolley":rotfl: .... in fact i think i will... i wont be at all phased by using one out here... everyone uses them, or proper whicker shopping baskets... if i get one you see -i figure i can walk and fetch the shopping every time.. only im very limited to what i can carry for medical reasons... ideally i would like one of the 4 wheeled ones (my mum has one and the amount she gets in there is amzing....its like the tardis :rotfl: and its easier to push than one of those 2 wheel jobbies that you pull..mmm may have to have alittle think.... then again if i don't have a trolley..i can only buy what i can carry and wil have to walk out more often :think:
I had my weetabix for brekkie
2 slices of bread with low fat cream cheese for lunch... and didn't want any dinner when we got in so i had a tin of grapefruit instead :drool:
Newlywed.. glad you tried that recipe and found it ok:T
well have a good evening..and hugs to all.... off for a browse-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
