    Morning you lovely lot

We had bolognaise last night, half wholewheat pasta and half white, as have ran out of wholewheat (which I prefer). Had sugar free strawberry jelly for desert (have made lots as OH is at home with flu and it eases his throat) and a cupcake (that i made at the weekend - we've finally ate them all now so no more temptation!!)

Its weigh day tomorrow, so today:

Breakfast: oatiflakes, semi skimmed w/ cup of earl grey
    Snack: 2 x carrots
Lunch: HM tomato / red pepper & chili soup w/ rice noodles in, low fat yoghurt, maybe a brown roll...
Dinner: am planning an aubergine/ courgette stack thing on a brown roll, w/ potato wedges and a tiny bit of mozarella which i've hidden in a pot in the fridge. OH is having beef burgers ;)

We're away at OH's folks for the weekend, so am going to take a bottle of gin and tonic with me and ignore all the wine (his parents live half the year in France - they always ply me with wine!)

My AIM for next week is to hit the 1stone mark :) x

Good morning all........ struggling a bit again today.(Mentally) After two good weeks, up pop the demons in my head telling me I wont succeed etc. I must strive to get out of this cycle of thought.Difficult though when you have never had a positive self image.
However, today is a new day and breakfast was one slice of wholemeal toast with some mackerel , followed by a low fat shape yoghurt. Lunch will be home made soup. Dont know what Dinner will be. Any ideas folks? I am spending too much on shopping since i started this `diet`. Any old style ideas welcomed. Thanks, and have a good day every-one.

Elaine, you ARE suceeding. You're trying, and winning most of the time ! smack those demons on the head with a big mental rubber hammer like whack-a-mole !

Dinner, well it doesn't have to be elaborate - baked spuds, beans and salad is fine :D by the way when I say salad I don't mean a bag of salad, I mean all forms of vegetable, pulse , nut and fruit life forms :rotfl:

I rarely buy bagged salad, quite often I don't even have a lettuce in the house but knock up really tasty salads out of whatever I have handy. Looking at what I have about today : fresh I have : cress, beetroot, tomatoes, apples, carrots, cucumber, spring onions, cabbage, grapes. Tinned/frozen/dried - sweetcorn, peas, red kidney beans, borlotti beans, cannelini beans, raisins, dates, cashews, walnuts. I always have low fat mayo/salad cream in the fridge, olive oil and fresh lemons as a dressing base too.

So right there are lots of ingredients right away for side or main meal salads and thats without even going into the cheese/eggs/meat/fish angle ! Its a case of using your imagination with what you already have in the house :) Or what about a tray of mixed roast veggies - flavoured with garlic, herbs or what have you - healthy and colourful, again they can either be the main course or a side dish if you have something else you want to have with them, and nice to nibble at cold the next day or... make them into a salad, LOL !!

Thanks for the "well done's" guys, well done to the rest of the loosers too. If you didn't loose much , who cares? There are worst things we could do than be a little bit piggy sometimes xx

  • Hello everyone, well done to all the losers, frogga a stone in a month is brilliant :T to you!

Re: the clothes thing - i was never 'really' a size 18, they were always a little baggy, but the 16 was always a little too tight so went for the bigger size so i've probably gone down 1 1/2 sizes, i seem to hold all my weight round my middle unfortunately so my legs were always wanting a much smaller size but me belly wasn't having any such nonsense - so i've only got one place to really lose the weight and thankfully so far it seems to be coming off where it's needed :o Please don't feel disheartened anyone, we all lose weight differently so if we all persist with this new healthy eating regime we'll all end up where we want to be.

    Todays meals will be:

Breakfast: Slimfast shake with soya milk.
Dinner - Prawn salad and pasion fruit with soya yoghurt for afters.
Tea - Beef stew with a diddy dumpling and stewed apples with hm icecream.

Snacks - i've managed to avoid up until now today but i have rice cakes and loads of fruit and salad bits if i feel hungry at any point.

    Afternoon one and all :D

As antisipated we tootled off for a ride into padderborne..and everywhere was shut.. :wall: ... well i guess it got me out for a couple of hours, and saved me some cash:T ..... on the way back we stopped off at the NAFFI - hubby wanted some beer, and he got me the SW mag... not that im following SW, but the success stories boost me along... hubby knows i like to wallow in the bath and have a read..bless him.. so guess what i will be doing this evening ;) ... will post any recipes i think might be of use ;)
Whilst we were in there i had a real fancying for something, light, cold, lots of flavour and not filling or stodgy for my lunch:confused: - i left weilding 10 seafood sticks :rotfl: .... which have been devoured mmm just had them on their own... wasn't "hungry" hungry - but know i needed something,, and this morning i did try having just 1 weetabix for brekkie and 1/2tsp sugar.. and i was full and didn't want my lunch until 1:30 .... need to drop to 1/4tsp sugar tomorrow.....they were a wee bit to sweet

I can now report that my "assets" stick out further than my belly :rotfl:- sorry to those ladies who have shrinking "assets".... no doubt mine will vanish eventually ...i think at the moment because i am losing some of that extra that sits between waistband and bra... mine are looking bigger .

well i put some trousers on this morning... luckily not to go out in as hubby asked was i comfy..which i was!! as i had put them on with the zip and button at the back... but there was that much extra room i hadn't noticed :rotfl: ...

Taplady.. im with you... my bulges are kept covered... i don't want to be seen out looking like i have a bag of ferrets running around under my clothes :p .. by the way do you have any bulges left when you are heading for a size 12 ;)

Newlywed.... i think Eumenidies is right - we just aren't very good at giving or receiving compliments us brits..especially us women ;) .... they will start noticing soon... and even though you will probably want to jump up n down on the spot doing a little jig, you will probably mutter something about "oh well just a little bit, no no im not trying, and i will probably put it back on again etc etc" -im sure we have all done it.... it is so hard to just say "oh thankyou for noticing" isn't it :rotfl:

Eumenidies.... :j on your loss .... just imagine 8 x 1/2lb packs of lard.. you can have 1 on each hip, thigh, arms 1 for your belly and 1 on your face....well thats where they usually go  ... so thats a great amount to shift :T

Hi Roxie - im a foody too , and love cooking - but there are loads of ways to still eat what you fancy - just a few little changes and you will be well away...if you are looking for any recipes let us know and i will post some more... get that bikini hung in your bedroom.. that will motivate you im sure ;) you WILL hit the beach looking stunning.....

M.E :T on the weight loss.. keep up the good work, you are doing brilliantly

Elaine -you WILL succeed.... just have a little faith in yourself... and don't listen to those voices... imagine hearing us loopy lot in your head telling you that you CAN and WILL do it...
just try and concentrate on getting through every day ... i just convince myself that im making healthy choices "today" and every day i get through gives me that bit more confidence that i can do this...

Are you buying "replacement" things to help you through... a lot of the time they are so much more expensive than the "unhealthy" versions... My shopping bill has dropped by loads - mainly because now im making a recipe for 4 and serving the size portion i should have, rather than it feeding 2 :o ,
If you let us know what kind of things you like and what is costing you so much im sure we will try and come up with some suggestions to help you get that bill down...
I find it much cheaper to eat in cold weather..and soooo much easier... stews, casseroles, good old comfort food...mmmmmmmmm

Bobbadog.... im sure you will hit that target.... good on you for going "armed" with something for yourself to save being force fed wine :D .... its amazing the difference a little planning can make...when i go back to the UK for Xmas im taking a ready assortment of stuff to head off all those lovely folks trying to ply me with stuff ;) .... cranberry vodka for a start...let down with sugar free lemonade... im not a big drinker, but this stops folks thinking im a party pooper.... the fact that i have about 1tbsp of vodka to a huge glass of S/F lemonade passes them by :p

well i had better get off and get a drink and leave you folks in peace - for now :rotfl: there are probably another dozen posts appeared whilst i have been rambling :D

Well done you losers!! :j :j

I've been trying to get on here all day but work keeps getting in the way
Today is a new start for me. I've pigged all week and I feel rubbish :o . I'm off to do my big shop tonight so will buy lots of healthy stuff. I've been quite good today, porridge with sultanas for brekkie, wholemeal roll with a bit of cheese and lots of beetroot for lunch. I've got some fruit to have before I go shopping and will get something nice and healthy for tea and stock up on some healthy snacks.
I've been belly-dancing at lunchtime so at least I've had some exercise on top of my walking today :T

Yes mrsmc. Think you are right about compliments.

Mental not to self - if anyone ever does notice the weight loss - accept with a gracious "thank you, yes I have lost quite a bit" :D

I do like the usual winter foods as well but get bored very easily. I have a husband that eats curries most days and the children eat whatever I serve, which is sometimes what I eat and sometimes not. Its usually always cooked from scratch except for fish fingers and oven chips which i give them approx every 7-10 days.I have managed to cut the shopping bill slightly but find myself going astray, especially so since i started this `diet`.I would love to do a healthy meal plan for a week, so will try to write one this evening. If i come up with one i will come back and share. If i dont manage i will still come back and get ideas from you all. found some veggie mince in the freezer so had spaghetti bolognese. It was Asda`s meat free version which is 2 packs for £3. cheaper than the quorn mince.
Please feel free to leave a meal idea, coz i am pretty sure i wont come up with a full weeks menu.
