Feb Grocery Challenge £2500 -
Can I join in please??
I have a fair amount to lose!:o 67lbs to be precise!
I am trying to budget for my groceries as I overspend big style, as well as overeat big style too!!!!
I found some sachets of Cambridge Diet that I still had left in the cupboard from last years attempt! (was very successfull, but it all went back on dontcha know!!!)
So I am kick starting off my diet by using up the sachets (they werent cheap!) and therefore wont be needing to buy food for myself this week!
I have drawn up meal plans for myself for when I run out of the sachets!
Hope evryone has a good day!0 -
Hello everyone, hope you're all well and still feeling positive - well done to all the losers and *positive vibes* to all those in need of them!
I bought myself some size 14 jeans this morning in an attempt to spur myself on even more and amazingly when i tried them on they actually fitted, quite comfortably so i'm a very happy girlie today :j ! Before i begand being good (almost 2 months ago) i've gone down 2 sizes, aiming to get into a 12 for Christmas and after how happy i was this morning i feel very very confident in getting there - it really has given me the extra incentive i was needing
Today's meals have been/will be:
Breakfast - Slimfast shake and orange juice.
Dinner - Wholemeal pasta with a hm tomato sauce with tuna and mango for desert.
Tea - Roast lamb, mash potatoes, babycorn, brocolli and grean beans. Will have a slice of the chocolate/vanilla marble cake that's cooking now for dessert.
Snacks - fruit and ricecakes if needed, although haven't had to have any so far.0 -

well after my good weigh in result ,i ate a packet of crisps then i went to my daughters for lunch. Had a chicken and sweetcorn baguette which was really nice. Came home and had the intention of eating the h/m veg soup but ended up eating a small portion of chicken and rice for tea, which i had made for the family. I better be careful or i will put ont he 2 1/2 lb that I lost this week, before the nights out!!!“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Hya folks...isn't it great to have mse back!
I know what you mean about missing the forum....and I have only been popping in for a month or so.
Congratulations to all you losers, regulars and newbies, especially to Floyd and Mrs M. :T:T:T
Well, I didn't lose any weight this week (weigh-in was Monday)
....but my TOTM started today...so that could explain it. I was pretty good last week I thought, so perhaps there will be a good loss next week.
My TOTM is very variable since I had a coil put in (5 years ago), so I never quite know when/if I will suffer. It's a great improvement on what I was like beforehand (2 weeks of hell every month..for me and family), but at least I was regular...now I don't know when to expect the next bout.
That's enough gore...now to what has happened in the last week
My DS1 and I had a great time at the Don McLean concert...his voice is still brill!! My son was belting out all the songs with the rest of us..not bad for a nearly 18 year-old! He was among the youngest, but didn't care a jot.
Meals have gone in a daze as has work etc, but I did follow Mrs M's advice aboutonly having one form of carbohydrate..so we had just pop-overs (yorkies) with our roast pork on Sunday without potatoes, and no-one objected...there was lots of veg though as well as stewed apples of course!
I have got back on the exercise bike daily again and it certainly seems to be working...my trousers are definitely getting looser...must check up on the numerous ones upstairs to see if any of them fit yet!
Food today:
B: Special K (in a small bowl), soya milk and OJ
break...no time for any
L: ham sandwich with HM chutney, toms + cucumber; HM orange jelly with mandarin oranges in...yummy!
break - I resisted a chocolate éclair from colleague and had grapes instead!
T: having HM turkey fajitas...yummy
break...not sure yet...maybe HM flapjack
Must go and check on T.
Will check in probably on Friday as working tomorrow, then starting Teacher training course tomorrow night...aaargh!
Good luck Frogga for tomorrow :j:j

Evening all
well i have had my dinner, and so far we have had NO trick or treaters..... so the bag of mini bags of jelly sweets...have gone un used  .. they are sat by the door in a pumpkin head..and i haven't touched 1  .... hubby will take them to work -im sure the lads will eat them..im even resisting the really sour ones that i love
Christmas plans have changed.... me n hubby were going back to the UK, picking up my mum and eldest brother and bringing them back for xmas/new year.... only now 1 of my sisters is waiting for her chemo to start .. and we think she is being economical with the truth regarding how she is.. so we are going to go back home instead..... gonna make sure its a humdinging xmas....
Now this has its plus and negative points where my eating is concerned...
Now i won't be baking loads and getting lots of stuff in that we don't normaly have about the place.... which will help.... but i have to contend with everyone thinking i should be eating more..... and the thing in my head that associates having a good time with the food on my plate
..... well when im home anyway....but im determined to stay focused....
so now i have no decorations to put up.. hubby breaks up on the 14thdec until the 6th jan... so no point decorating the place... also..i have 6 weeks worth of menus worked out..using up my HM stuff in the freezer-which takes us up to the 14th dec :j .....that must be fate me thinks
I was planning on doing sis a pamper hamper for when she starts chemo.... well at least i will be able to get it to her.... think i will do a german themed hamper for 1 of my brothers n family, a beer/whisky 1 for my other brother, a mixed one for my other sis and family and a gardening one for mum.... better get my bum into gear :rotfl: .....lets see how economical i can bealthough sis's pamper hamper will be a spoil her rotten 1
Well i did the lawn and swept up all the leaves this morning -thats some extra cals used..hopefully.
Hubby is off until monday now-apparently its a german bank holiday...
ok folks back to normal..sorry for the rambles - but you expect it now:D
well done on the loses -madmae, elaine, :T

OOOOHHHH frogga..only 1 more sleep :j good luck mrs......
well i hope we are all having a good evening
Hi keiss21..nearly missed you... well i will type essays....
Glad swapping to one carb went down ok.... im sure it just habbit that makes us think that we have to have everything on one plate... im amazed the number of ways i can con myself into eating less.....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I had to diet off a couple of stones a bit back and now every so often (ie when I can see a few lbs have crept back on again) I go onto boring/but filling food. Boring - so I only eat what I am actually hungry for - and filling (so I'm not tempted).
Basically - its porridge for breakfast (and 2 slices of toast scraped with healthiest lower-fat spread I can find) and the rest of the day its however much I want (and that doesnt mean teensy quantities - I have a good appetite!) of beans/potatoes/pasta/lentils/bananas/cereals (ie oatmeal porridge/rice porridge/barley porridge - not Rice Crispies/cornflakes type stuff!). Dairy produce is fat-free yogurt/skim milk/low-fat cottage cheese/quark. Loads of fresh fruit and vegetables generally. If I am being super-good - no alcohol at all (not so good means 2 small old-fashioned size glasses twice per week).
I couldnt stand being hungry - so its healthy stuff only (with the exception of quorn) whilst dieting. Nearly forgot to mention - no fish or meat.0
