let us know what your basics are that you normally buy and we will see if we can come up with some recipes that you can all eat...
Turkey, pork, chicken and fish.. as I said before.
Veggies.. all the boring stuff.. I don't like courgette but sneak it in some things anyway. I don't like cauliflower but sometimes sneak some in my mash potato. I can't eat salads. I don't like jacket potato.
Fruits. I can't eat red fruit.. even though I love them (allergy). I'll do what I CAN eat it is a shorter list! I love oranges/satsumas etc and occasionally I can handle about 6 grapes. I don't like dried fruit or nuts.
I hate cheese and most dairy stuff.. I only have milk in tea and on cereal. I like cream cakes.. lol Eggs are ok.. I guess.
I try to steer clear of bready/doughy things as they make me feel bloated which I don't like.
I don't like couscous/humus type stuff
I like casseroles best.. corned beef hash I'll eat (though I don't eat red meat other than this.. like this) I love pasta.. it is my favourite I would live on spag bol given a chance! Savoury mince is delish.
The problem we have if I cater for me is.. none of the children like 'sloppy' food.. so they simply don't eat soup or stews or anything like that. 2 don't eat potato, 1 doesn't eat pasta and 3 don't like rice. Hubby eats anything... literally!!
What I usually do is make a HUGE pan of stuff for me and eat it until it is gone.. I like eating the same thing for a few days. I then cook a different meal for everyone else.
I would like to learn fishy recipes.. I like fish... Though my tuna pasta bake is edible... as is my fish pie.
I don't have a fryer so everything needs to be slowcookable, ovened or grilled.
My downfall is crisps.. I could eat them until I pop!! I actually think my main problem is I don't eat enough. I don't have breakfast as I can't face food until about 11:30am then I have a cooked meal about 6pm when hubby gets in and other than that I snack.. and graze.. and nibble.. I'm a sheep!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Good afternoon girls
Well I've been sticking with it since last week. I don't really feel like I've lost anything but my scales have broken so I can't check (it wasn't me honest:D ).
I eased into it gently last week but need to be a little stricter this week.
Today has actually been really really good, my Paul Mckenna stuff arrived yesterday, I listened to the CD last night and I think it's done something to me! I'm a sceptical kind of girl but I truly feel more relaxed about food today..I'm just not obsessing..it's weird.
B: was an egg and v low fat mayo sandwich (no butter!). I sometimes swap lunch for brekkie
L: museli
Snax: bananawill be cottage pie (made at the weekend) and mountains of veg
all small portions..
Paul McK's program is based on 4 GOLDEN RULES
Golden rule number one: Eat when you're HUNGRY
Golden rule number two: Eat what you WANT
Golden rule number three: Eat CONSCIOUSLY
Golden rule number four: When you're full STOP
I guess it's kind of what we're all doing here isn't it?
I want to join Froggas CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN and lose 7lbs:T
I must go to the gym.I must go to the gym.I must go to the gym.I must go to the gym.
Welcome all the new people. Thanks and love to all you regulars

Glad lots of people are hopping onto the campaign:T
Blimey pigpen I do believe you might be more fussy than me!:rotfl: Luckily being a vegan disguises my fussyness quite well though!
Guess I should have a target for the Christmas Campiagn, well, how about I wait to see what I'm down to on 1st Nov and then go from there? I have no idea how much I weigh at the mo as I'm weighing monthly, so I will wait unitl 1st.
Any more willing to set a target? By the way I guess I might be a bit of a hypocrit as I don't have a religon so shouldn't celebrate Christmasbut, I see it as a family Holiday where we are all together and I have respect for it's meaning even though I don't believe it. I REALLY hope that doesn't offend any of you xx:o

Well Frogga I'm an agnostic omnivorous panda but I like the sound of a Christmas target. Should I aim for 1/2 or 1 stone???Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0

Hello every-one. thought i would pop in daily to say hello and write down what i have had/am having. Breakfast was porridge and a banana, lunch was late and was slice of toast, egg, tomato and mushrooms done in fry light.low fat yoghurt for pudding. Dinner is also late and will be a chicken drumstick with veg and a small jacket potato. I also had a ww piece of choc cake which is 1 point out of my weekly 21 (core plan). Tomorrow morning is weigh-in , so i will pop back and let you all know how i have done. I hope to do ok on this because this plan really suits me and i dont do deprivation. Lifes tough enough without feeling hungry all the time. Take care all and keep up the good work.:T“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Well i posted the other day about wanting to lose some weight...
And yesterday and today have not gone to well at all!!
Yesterday i ate:
Cheese Toastie x2
Twirl x2
Sausage Roll+ Chips
Today i ate:
Soup+Bread
Maltesers
Mars Delight
Chicken Pie+Veg
ARGH! What makes it harder for me is that i live with parents still, and dont want to admit to them that i am on a diet, as they have been really harsh about my weight some times, so they make dinner for themselves (mum is thin, and is one of these people who can eat+eat and will not put an ounce on  ) so they make the dinners (see above)...
I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow, and will probably be another lb heavier!!0 -
Welcome pigpen and nickiboop !
pigpen, don't worry, between us we will find ways of introducing variety and inspiration without freaking out your food boundaries :P I'm a crisp junkie too but luckily there are lots of things I can subsitute or supplement the crisps with ( the packet I ate today I did not enjoy one little bit btw ) - is there something else you might be able to snack on instead ? hm popcorn, ryvita minis ?
nicki, the thing is to not think of it as a diet, its a way of thinking and eating for life - the Paul McKenna golden rules on Ellas's post are sensible and make a good basis for your own particular OS healthier eating.
frogga I hope no one would be upset by your views ! you're honest about them ! Some of the reasons I don't celebrate Christmas are a bit personal ( I do celebrate winter solstice/Yule but not like people celebrate Christmas and I do it in a very low key personal way ) but it also saddens me how these days its become such a stressful time for so many people - pressure to do and be certain things and spend tons of money they don't have. But I am all for a bit of joy, good cheer and warmth and sharing of food and fire midwinter to set us all up for the grim months before spring !
MrsM, don't be daft, not rambling at all - it would only be rambling if we weren't interested in what you were saying
Thanks for all the kind words folksI didn't make it for much of a walk after all - but that was because of a saga involving a non functioning cash machine, bah. Really am not feeling that bad, only agoraphobia is a funny thing and inconsistent. I think its a combination of that, PMT and someone of whom I am inordinately fond being away for a week or two that's got me feeling theres no place like home, Toto ! Ah well, not to worry.
Have been having cravings for a spam and pickle sandwich for the last couple of days  so finally gave in - now I've opened the tin I will have to have Monty Python meals for the next few days to use it all up ! also gave into my cake craving and bought a treacle and ginger cake from the co op, 99p. Funny thing was, as soon as I'd put it in the basket, the surge of " buy everything thats rubbish in this shop and eat it " feeling just vanished. Had two small slices ( with the flask of tea I was going to take on the walk that didn't happen) and was quite happy with that. Back on track with dinner which is baked spud, beans, and salad - no spam again yet though ! :rotfl:
