PORRIDGE
JACKET SPUD WITH BEANS AND SALAD
BANANA
HM LASAGNE WITH LOADS OF VEGGIES
YOGHURT
well done to newlywed!:T

Morning ladies, welcome newbies and :hello: congrats to the losers!
Not too bad a day yesterday. I was very busy cleaning and cooking for the week and managed to fit in a bit of digging and weeding at the allotment and a little walk.:j
We're having a cupboard and freezer week as well - 9 days actually until payday!
I've bitten the bullet and bought a season ticket for the train - commute was only an hour this morning and slightly more civilised!
I had toast and marmalade for brekkie, I've brought a salad roll and one of those kid-sized cheese sticks for my lunch - might have to leave the cheese as I've got a migraine lurking  I've got a cereal bar, banana and packet of lowfat crisps for if the munchies strike and tea tonight is aubergine and chickpea stew with rice - prepared yesterday so I only have to heat it up when I get home :j
Oh yes, Oatibix are nasty!!0 -
Hi all, I'm at home today trying to finish course work (so what am I doing on here eh?) I had the last of the cereal for bekkie and I'm waiting for the ASDA man to come, wish he'd hurry up I'm starving!
My neighbour gave me two packets of posh chocolate chips as a pressy for watching their house while they were on hols. Odd present maybe but I might make the nigella coch chip cookies for the boys (not for me oh no no no) and hand some back in next door. I'm not honestly that mad on biccies and cake but I do love the cake mixture and cookie dough!
I'm going to have some salad with olives and pickled cornichons that I got in Lidl - they'r really good. Does anyone know how pickles shape up calorie and healthy eating wise? Is it too much to hope that they count as vegetables??Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
I think most diets count gherkins and pickled onions as "free" - I find them handy when I'm cooking to nibble on“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Good afternoon everyone, and congrats to all the losers!! :T:T:T
Weighed in this morning and have lost another 3 pounds...yippeeee!!
I didn't think I'd lose that much this week, I was reasonably good food-wise, but didn't do so much exercise, but I must be doing something right!
I walked the dog this morning (normally DH's job), but he and DS2 are in Paris on Rugby Tour. It was a glorious sunrise...but don't they say "Red sky in the morning, shepherds' warning"? Weather isn't too yucky today though.
Mrs M re 15 year-old packing...my DH checked it, but I went nowhere near it. Talked to them last night...no word of essentials missing yet!
Re Oatabix...not bad flavour, but went very thick like glue/cement when Oat milk poured over it! I tried the oat milk when on special offer as an alternative to soya milk. I find having non-dairy milk helps my asthma...less catarrh in the mornings.
Having a good day today, especially after weigh-in. Took DS1 to Rock School in Cheltenham, then had a leisurely wander round Waitrose ...picking up a few Christmas pressies, as well as a scrummy tomato and herbs roll to have with my HM soup for lunch. DS1 has requested French toast tonight...DS2 not keen so having it while he is away! Will have one piece for myself with lots of veggies...will also take some in to my neighbour (87 and house-bound) too...she loves it! That way we won't pig out on too much eggy bread!
Today's meals:
B: Special K, soya milk and OJ
Grapes
L: HM veggie soup + tomato & herb roll, spread with extra light garlic & herbs low fat soft cheese
Apple
T: Eggy bread and lots of veg
Sugar free jelly with fruit
Off to walk dog again and then get some gardening done before picking son up from Rock School.
Have a great day everyone.:j

Hello, can i join in please? I rejoined weightwatchers last week and have loads to lose. I do like their core/no count plan as i seem to rebel counting calories or points. So far so good and i am enjoying cooking and eating healthier food.Weigh in is on wednesday so will let you know then how i get on. All the best to you all.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0

Afternoon all
thought i'd pop back whilst having a sit down..any excuse
well i have been sharing the house with 11 individual ham, potato, cheese n onion flans for the last few hours and have not nibbled :A ...danger period is over as they are cold now (so that yummy smell has passed) they are about to be bagged up and frozen ....have just about enough room for them....
got a bolognaise ticking over in the slowcooker - usually do mine in the oven..but was using it for said flans:p ... that will be portioned and wedged in the freezer :T
I was very brave and went and did a quick check in the freezer - as i thought we have loads of portions in there.... have worked out menus for the next 4 weeks and still have stuff left - so will work out a couple more weeks in a moment ...... its all things i have made - and rather than eating in waste i froze the extra portions up... will be very very happy if every couple of months we can have "free" month.... result:T . Seems there are going to be several of us doing a freezer/cupboard use up menu...
So this week at some point we will have :-- roast chicken , HM stuffing, veggies and gravy
- Hm sausages -casseroled, yorkshires and veg
- fish with parsley sauce, mashed potato/swede and veg
- liver casserole with mash and veg
- ham, cheese, potato n onion flans with beans
- chilli n rice (hubby) -salmon and veg (me):j
- pork, veg n barley casserole with broccoli n cabbage
chicken n sweetcorn
broccoli and lentil
vegetable n bean
spicy pork goulash
or sandwiches - hm beef spread, cheese n onion, corned beef n mustard - all his faves
my lunches will be crisp breads with low fat cream cheese, pate, avocado
soup or leftovers....
And i will hopefully still continue to lose on that :j ....
well done newlywed :T .... nearly there :j
Thrift monster - i am exactly the same... tell me i can't have something and i would eat 2 out of spite... i have now realised the only person i was hurting was myself.. now i tell myself i can have anything and as a result i don't find it half as interesting :rotfl: .. after being here about 14 weeks now i still have only had the curly wurly and a bag of small jaffa cakes that i ate in the 1st couple of weeks :T ... and im really not missing any of it...miracle
rockie.... good on you - getting that season ticket... sounds a much more pleasant journey than the bus
Nodwah.... pickles are usually pretty low in cals.... i love them.. my problem here was fresh cabbage salad.... nicer than saurkraut... but that wasn't THAT light on the cals...but addictive.. i would sit and have a pot instead of a meal
Keiss .... well done on the 3lb loss:T ..... your son is obviously more organised than my hubby..(not exactly difficult mind) he is on duty all day..the only thing he needed to remember to take with him was his gameboy...guess what was still here when i got up :rotfl: ..... he reckons that after 22 years in the army he is sooo used to being told, what to do, when to do it and how to do it... and he likes me to do the same.. if i ask him to do something and he doesn't do it straight away - im under instruction to TELL him.. a man actually encouraging a woman to moan :rotfl: .. but i don't like telling him ...im getting used to it though :rotfl:
Hi elaine and welcome on board...you will have lots of fun on here.. we are mostly barking mad ...especially frogga..they don't say people are as mad as a box of frogs for nothing you know
....
well I had better get off again... some more menus to work out.. have a good afternoon all

Evening folks
have had a rather trying day with my PC as it keeps freezing up in the middle of doing stuff causing many reboots
which has been a pain when trying to write any kind of forum posts
well done all the losers, maintainers and tryers !
Welcome elaine and thriftmonster ! as for pickles/olives - they aren't too high in calories but are usually fairly high in salt - so they make a great snack in moderation - I certainly love both
I went rather overboard on the bread front today, I blame the sudden drop in temperature and air pressure !
Breakfast : orange juice, leftover roast pots and parsnips from last nights dinner and a big handful of cherry tomatoes - the toast fell by the wayside due to work interrupts.
Lunch : big baked spud, cottage cheese, cress, cucumber, beetroot, radishes and more cherry tomatoes, some pepsi max.
Mid afternoon : two slices buttered toast, glass of milk and a square of dark chocolate.
Dinner : apple juice, bowl of baked beans with a handful of grated cheese, 1 slice of buttered toast and a salad sandwich !
So tomorrow I'm going to try and be more disciplined and stick to one slice of toast ! Just about managed my 20 mins walk today but just lounged around reading, watching TV and napping in the afternoon/this evening. Didn't spend anything foodwise today but will need to buy celery, cucumber, watercress, yoghurt and apples tomorrow. If the weather is ok I will walk into town to Waitrose - 30-40 minute walk." Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0
