  • Black saturn. I thought when you said "I'm keeping the diet a secret at the moment as I don't want everyone to laugh if I fail" that you were doing some special diet. I dont get why anybody would laugh at eating three healthy meals a day and cutting out snacks. Re-educating yourself is the best way to lose weight and keep it off.

If not doing any exercise and cutting out sweets and snacks works that well in two weeks think of all the extra sugar and snacks you must have been eating. Give yourself a well earned pack on the back. Well done for getting rid of them. You will feel so much better now if you can get into the habit of eating food cooked from scratch instead of highly processed food. How does the Paul mckenna tape work?

Was thinking about weighing myself before I got up this morning, then I was in the shower...no chance that I was going on scales with wet hair, then I had breakfast, so will wait for another while, the 6 spare tyres seem to have got somewhat smaller, I don't now feel that I am looking down at a six-month-pregnant tum....

    Today I ate:

    Chicken salad sandwich, 2 slices bread;

Two steamed potatoes, small sole fillet, steamed broccoli, mangetout, kohlrabi, bulb fennel, carrot, mustard greens, fennel root, onion.

    Slice lemon sponge, handful grapes

Bkack Saturn...that's that kind of loss I used to dream about, only ever happened if I were ill and went back on immediately I felt well again....congratulations!

    HELLO FROGGA.

    Night all

  • Hey,

I am new to this particular board and this thread is what i need!

I am 18 years old, and fat. Simple!

Basically i was really skinny pre-teen but then the weight came and i ballooned :o . I went up to 14st before really trying and going down to a credible (for me!) 12st. Then back to 14st before going down to 13st. Now i am 15st 8lb!

Its not that i eat that unhealthily really, i eat breakfast, most of the time, consisting of either porridge or weetabix (with a bit of sugar). Lunch is either a sandwich of some description (tuna, cheese etc) or if working a chicken tikka wrap and once a week a McDonalds. Then dinner is usually a 'good square meal' either meat and two veg, pasta or something like that.

My problem is SNACKING! I eat when commuting to and from work/uni...On my breaks at work...After dinner....

I can easily eat two packs of crisps,a chocolate bar AND a family sized bar in one day!! Then i drink a lot of fizzy drinks as well...

In the past i have tried eating Go Ahead bars or Slimfast bars or similar and for one or two days they are nice, but after that the Galaxy comes calling!

    Help!
  • JustWonderful - welcome ! :D ok so looking at what you've said, this is just my subjective thoughts :

Snacking in itself is not bad, its what you snack on that you need to change. I had a crisps/choc/pepsi max habit that was pretty bad, I'm not a saint by any means but I have greatly reduced my consumption of them. You need to make sure you pack up plenty of healthy snacks - fruit of all kinds, veg ( I really do cut up enough raw veg to snack on for 2-3 days all squirreled away in the fridge and I love it ! ), crispbreads, ricecakes, oatcakes, cheese, hardboiled eggs, cold meats etc ( I don't mean all of these LOL just a selection ! :P ) You don't have to give up chocolate entirely, include a small bar in there 2-3 times a week if you want. Same with crisps - make it 2-3 times a week instead of 2x daily.

If you're going to drink fizzy, try and drink 1 full glass of water for each fizzy drink you have. And just one sandwich or a wrap doesn't sound like its enough for lunch - have some fruit and hm salad with that - which may fill you up more and cut down on the need to snack so much in the afternoon and on the way home :)

Welcome all the Newbys, Well Done all the Loosers and Good Luck all those weighing today xx

Had a fine weekend, not binging honest.

Half Term this week so it's great to have a week off and be at home with the Tadpoles. We've got a few things planned, all free of course!

Running quite short in the cupboard and freezer so we'll be eating odd meals this next week rather than going to the shops.

Only a week and a half before weigh day!

Have a good day all , Hi MrsM and Gran xx:A

  • Morning folks :)

Looks like there will be at least three of us this week sticking to our storecupboards, hurrah ! shall be interested to hear details of the odd meals, frogga :D

Not greatly enamoured at the thought of going back to work in half an hour's time. Chilly damp morning here, not conducive to raising the spirits. Hopefully will be having toast and tomatoes for breakfast if work permits and aiming for a jacket potato ( gotta use that spud mountain up somehow !! ) with beans or cheese and salad for lunch. Dinner will be a fridge clear out - got some cottage cheese, cold meat and fruit that needs using up ! Little bit of raw veg etc to snack on plus I will probably have a bouillon drink or two to satisfy the hot savoury craving.

Have a good day all :)

    Morning everyone :D

well its frosty white all over here -it looks lovely.

hubby has tootled off on duty - so i won't be seeing him until about 10am tommorow.... chance to get lots done - stops me getting bored....

Didn't manage to get the freezer check done.. so im doing it in a moment... much easier to concentrate when im in the house on my own ;) .... im then making some individual, cheese, potato and onion flans and some ham, mushroom cheese n onion pasties for the freezer... and i have a batch of pork/beef mince in the fridge and can't decide if i want to do bolognaise or something else  ...

Hi justwonderfull  and welcome on board

Im sure you will get lots of hint, tips n help on here - as well as quite a few laughs... we are all doing different things - but all have the same aim.... shifting all the extra pounds hmmmm stones in some cases :p ...
As kittyscarlett says.. the snacking itself isn't a problem - its what we choose to snack on thats the problem. do you enjoy cooking? could you perhaps make some healthier snacks? im sure we could come up with plenty of recipes.... although i appretiate sometimes "only choc will do ;) "....
I have cut right down on the snacking - just because im not hungry most of the time.... but i don't forbid myself anything... "if i want it i can have it" is what i tell myself- it makes choc etc much less tempting.
If you see what you are doing as a long term change in your eating it becomes much easier than thinking "im on another diet" and there is less pressure too...

meanmarie... i agree.. never get on the scales with wet hair:eek:

Morning frogga.. bet you are much happier now the tadpoles are at home ;)

well its good old weetabix for brekkie
lunch will be mmm fruit n yogs probably.. have one of those heads on me today
and i only have myself to feed so dinner will be possibly a nice fresh cheese, potato n onion flan :p .... they taste just like the ones we used to get at school :T

well i hope we all have a great day ...keep up the good work

Yes, I am Very happy now that the Tadpoles are at home all week, you're right MrsM!:T

They have grown up SO quickly, it doesn't seem 5 mins since they were spawn!:rotfl:

The years are just rolling by. We have such a nice time in the holidays, and I feel very aware that these times are to be treasured.

    Happy days .................................................

Morning. Welcome to all newcomers. Well done to all who are losers or maintainers this week - anything that is not a gain is a bonus ;)

I would like to report a loss of 1lb. Although small, it does actually mean I have now officially lost over a stone since 1 July and am ½lb away from being in my "healthy" BMI range :D

Porridge for breakfast seems to be doing the trick ;) Although our boiler has gone up the creek so feeling very cold today waiting for the repair people to ring :(
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • Morning everyone,
I've been inspired by all your losses to come and join you. I have about 6 stone to lose of post baby weight - and as ds2 is 8 now I'm running out of excuses.:D

I have tried all the clubs, but as soon as someone says to me "you have to count or limit that" I immediately want to rush off and eat twice as much of it. I am convinced that the OS way is the way to go - especially as dh and the kids are pretty thin on all my Hm cooking.

My issues are wine in the evening - which then leads to peanuts, toast, crisps etc. I don't have a sweet tooth at all - but anything salty:eek:

So I'm going to cut out the wine completely and try eating the healthy 3 meals a day with the odd snack - and get my knitting out for the evening.
I shall also follow MrsM's thing of housework when I feel bored and "nibbly"

    Wish me luck
