Evening everyone...well I'm consoling myself with a chocolate penguin because of the rugby, but I'm really proud of the lads, they've done wonderfully. One thing I thought I should mention, which is tied into weightloss and rugby is about BMI. Today on the news they were talking about the obesity epidemic, but one clever person pointed out that nearly all the English rugby team would be classified as obese with BMI's as it doesn't take into consideration muscle mass, which is heavier than fat. England's captain Phil Vickery is 6ft3ins and weighs 19st3lb which makes his BMI 33 and he would be classed as a serious health risk. So, anyone who had a similar experience to me (I was told I was obese, being 5ft8 and 14st6lb, even though I have wide hips and shoulders) BMI isn't necessarily the best way to measure your health risk.
I've had a quiet few days, haven't been eating much as I've been quite tired (I know, food needed for energy etc) but the snacks I've had to keep me going have been good...banana's, raisins, satsumas. Have only had chocolate once and that's today. I turned down a chocolate teacake in favour of some fruit earlier and was very pleased with myself.
Hugs to all and congratulations to those losersx

Thanks toonie, that's comforting! Actually 2 years back I got quite fit by going to the gym religiously and everyone remarked on how good I was looking, but actually I hadn't lost a pound i was just toned, so true enough. (needless to say I lost the effort after changing my working hours and I'm starting over again)
Anyway, I posted quite a long one earlier but my internet connection broke again and I lost it so sorry to all the people I had said hello to and hello this time - especially froggaJust call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -

HELLO FROGGA!
Hello everybody else who isn't so demanding!
Have had three days in a row which I don't really want to think about food wise....not been really bad but curry Thursday night, celebration lunch including pudding and wine yesterday and birthday cake and various other calorie laden items to-day....DGS 2 is five to-morrow so the food cooked was sausages, chicken drumsticks, wedges and then cakes and sweets...have only had an apple, some grapes and water since 6pm so hoping that I have redeemed myself somewhat...I actually feel hungry now but will have a carrot or something similar.
Congratulations to all the losers and triers

Morning all
Well its a soggy grey morning at the moment, but that hasn't stopped hubby toddling off to play golf... he was hoping that by the time he got to the course the weather wouldn't be quite so bad  ..... still i don't mind and he is on duty tomorrow so starts in the guard room at 6am and stays there until 6am on tuesday morning... bored out of his tree, (note to self.. only need to feed ME tomorrow:p ), he does have tuesday off - which is a miracle so we are trying to think of somwhere to go for a long walk - need to burn cals and all that..
Going to have weetabix soon - have developed a serious addiction to those.....has anyone tried those OATABIX thinggies yet? if so what are they like? i have just seen some but they are more expensive than weetabix so didn't want to get any if they aren't worth it
lunch/dinner is roast chicken, Hm stuffing, veggies, pots for hubby and gravy.. by the time hubby gets in it will fall between lunch an dinner so saves making another meal i guess:D
also forgot that i had a dozen eggs with that shopping that cost me 54c yesterday :rotfl:
the soup i made yesterday got frozen into another 3 flasks worth :T ... don't have much space left in my small chest freezer downstairs - like to keep a little space - just in case i spot any super bargains.... im sure im not the only one...
Well hubby had chilli for tea last night so i had 2 slices of fresh HM bread with some low fat cream cheese n herbs  -even if i say so myself it was absolute heavenreally crusty on the outside and really tasty.... i went back to making my bread by hand a while ago and it is stunning - i only used the BM to mix the dough anyway as i love my bread done in the oven.... its really simple... and i find it quicker by hand too!
I felt rather restrained only having 2 -but was full after it :T
Kittyscarlett.... think i may give in and get the lamp..it is really good value and soooo pretty hmm and practical too-will help with my cross stitch
.
Rockie... i lovvve halloumi  ... we have a raclette machine and i love it on there mmm . It still amazes me that the "vegetarian options" are so often very poor.... it always used to be veggie lasagne, veg chilli etc when i was vegetarian... you would think the possibilites would be endless now...
Turbogran .... i have had to make a conscious effort to stop shovelling my food down at a rate of knots.... i also eat with a pastry fork... although i have done that for a while... you try piling up a pastry fork :rotfl: ... it all helps though, and now i savour every mouthfull - at one time i don't think half of what i ate even touched the sides on its way down
Taplady... lemon cake  .... i love tangy citrus things and that sounds rather yummy. My mum and me always wanted to run a tea room or a guest house - although im sure the reality wouldn't have been half as good as the thought of it.
Redmel.. :j on the weight loss - well done :T ....
This is the first time i haven't lost weight on my feet.. it used to drive me mad.. the 1st thing to happen normally was i would go down a shoe size  ... I don't care if i have big feet.... there are plenty of other areas that are more in need of losing weight than my bl**dy feet. This time most of it has come off my middle:j ....well that is where a lot of the extra had taken up residence :rotfl: . also that annoying extra between my bra and waist band is starting to shrink... my bra no longer digs in.. thing is, because that has shrunk my boobs seem bigger - they aren't they just aren't competing with my belly quite as much :rotfl:....
Meanmarie.. its only a couple of days, don't worry about it... sounds like you have gone straight back to the healthier options anyway :T -so well done..its so easy to let a couple of days slip into 3, 4 days -as we all know.... but you haven't done that -so give yourself a great big round of applause :T
well i had better get off and get my brekkie and then im suposed to be making some cheese, onion, ham n potato pies.. but as hubby is out all day tomorrow i think i will leave it until then. I have peeled the potatoes - but can make the mash up and put it in the fridge - its easier to work with cold anyway. I also have some soup pork in the slow cooker which is going to turn into a broth/stew thing for hubbies flask....
So i can feel som xstitch coming on :T
well everyone.. keep up the good work - hope we all have a great day.....
Bet you thought id forgotten you ........morning frogga - have a great day-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello everyone, well done on all the losses. :T:T:T
It's great to see a return for the effort we all put in.
I am already finding a pair of trousers that have always been a bit tight, are getting more comfortable these days! :j
Was up @ 6:30 this morning getting DH and DS2 ready for their Rugby Tour to Paris (Bredon Buzzards under 15s). Got them to the bus in plenty of time, but bus left late as one lad turned up with just a small bag with food and rugby kit...no other clothes...he thought his mum was packing that...he is 15 and should have known better! The bus did wait a bit, but don't think mum got back in time...he will have to borrow some clothes and wear them more than one day...oh the smell! It is a shame England lost last night, but they played well, and at least it means our lads will sleep on the bus to Paris, rather than being hyped up if they had won!
I had nothing to do with the packing, just did a load of baking last night for diabetic son to take for his breaks (no sugar oat biccies, low sugar choccie buns and high sugar flapjacks). Defrosting the car was fun....1.5 degrees C and freezing fog! The fog has just about cleared now, so I will take the dog a walk down the fields to the river...a lovely morning now.
I have been reasonably good this week food-wise, but been busy at work and on various courses (and hospital visits), so have not done as much exercise as I would have liked. I did manage a few sessions on the exercise bike...at least I should be able to get on it now with DS2 away for a few days...every evening I tried to use it, he would be on his mammoth 30 minutes twice a day. Must get a proper routine going.
Had breakfast with the boys @ 7am, and am now ravenous! Must have burned it all off while trying to keep warm waiting at the bus this morning! I have had a couple of slices of HM fruit loaf since I got back, I thought it would have gone to Paris, but it has been left behind. Will freeze most of it and make sure DS1 has the rest in his lunches this week when he goes to Rock School in Cheltenham. It runs Mon to Fri 10 -4...that's a bit of driving for me then! He is investigating the buses, for the days I am working...it will be a challenge with his guitar (sorry bass) in tow!
Had roast chicken last night...free range and it was soooooo goood!A bit expensive, but the flavour and texture is so much nicer!!
There is a bit of chicken left over, so DS1 and I will have curry for tea, with brown basmati rice. We are having bacon butties for lunch, yummy! I must drain and skim the stock made with the chicken bones.and get the soup on when I get back from the walk.
Hope you all enjoy the lovely day, hope it improves with you Mrs M.
Weigh day tomorrow, so will no doubt be reporting in some time then.
