afternoon all!
Kitty - I would never eat tinned fish or any fresh oily fish until recently when I actually tried some at work and quite enjoyed it! what I dont like is fish that looks like fish - with bones or skin!:D but you can get tinned skinless and boneless now so I eat mackerel, pilchards , salmon and tuna.I love fresh salmon(boneless and skinless of course) but didn't take to fresh tuna.Cant bring myself to try sardines yet as I remember my mum feeding them to the cat as a child!
Have had a tiny slice of apple and oat cake while out today at our local Applefest - very nice it was but not enough of it!:D
breakfast - 2 x seedy breaded toast!:D
applecake
toasted cheese and tom sandwhich and salad
dinner - small piece of steak pie, mash and peas
yoghurt and banana
hope you are all being good!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi everyone....
well went out and got my compost... 150lt for about £5..so not bad... will get broad beans in tomorrow morning :T
Nipped into ALDI whist we were out, and :T .... you pay a deposit on bottles out here and then they have machines where you post them back and then print out a receipt and hand it in with your shopping to get your money back....(can't believe they dont do it in the UK) hubby came back looking rather happy as someone had left their receipt in the machine for....7.75 euros about £6 :j ...
they have now got 500g broccoli for 49c about 35p... so i got 4 whilst they had it.. so i got 6 lt of long life milk for the store, 4 broccoli, 1 kilo carrots, 300g cream cheese and a 1lt tub of walnut icecream for hubby - apparently he is eating it for my sake as i said the square tubs are ideal for freezing soups
..and at just over 1euro i don't mind.. and once that receipt and my ickle one had been taken off it all cost me 54c :rotfl: :rotfl: ..... I like days like this
Have part steamed all the broccoli and cooled it, bagged it and its in the freezer, and the stalks have been turned into a vat of soup with onions -and a couple of potatoes to stabilise it.. when i had blitzed it i added some red lentils and pot barley ..cooked and blitzed a bit more, and added a dollop of low fat cream cheese .. so that will get frozen up once it has cooled.
Nearly got a stunning lamp..but made myself come away and think about it.. its a frosted glass uplighter in red fading through to orange and then has a bendy arm with a smaller shade on ... was thinking i could use a hallogen /daylight bulb and use it for xstitching in the evenings... was 25euro.... about £18 and it was stunning..but made myself behave .. but having considered it i may have to get it
.....
Had the cheese/potato/onion flan with baked beans for lunch mmmmm
hubby is having chilli for tea ... but don't know what i want yet as im not hungry.... if all else fails it will be weetabix
Kittyscarlett.. sorry to spoil your fun by getting hold of some parsnips.. just hope they are yummy or i may throw a wobble fit...
Sola...well done..bet you are thrilled to bits...:T
Taplady.... where do you go to find all these lovely cakes??? I have managed to ignore the cakes here so far.... just about every supermarket has a not so small bakery/coffee shop..... and its easy to get into the habbit of having cake n coffee before or after you shop  - have resisted so far
well i hope you are all having a lovely day.... better get off and get some xstitch done
oooopps nearly..... hello frogga - hope all is fine on the lilypad-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

well done on resisting! I am a cake addict i think!:o at the Appelefest there was a stall of delicious HM cakes, DH had a huge viennese whirl with jam and cream in it! there was also coffee cake, bakewell slices, scones, chocolate cake, and loads more!
For about 10 years I was a confectioner - making and decorating cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cream cakes - you name it I've made it! I couldn't cope with all the temptation nowadays!
well done nodwah!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Oh my lord taplady....
I thought it was bad enough that i qualified as a chef many years ago at 18... but to be a confectioner  . It must seem such a shame not to use your talents - even if just for you, your OH and any family... my mum did wedding cakes years ago..and is just getting back into doing them... but all those cakes you must have perfected  . I only really like the good old stodgy ones.. date n walnut and the likes...
isn't it awfull when you know and enjoy making such things but "can't".... still it will be worth it in the end ....
Keep up the good work:T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
OH well done nodwah and Sola, thats brilliant news !:T yes, I don't weigh but I notice that bits of me resemble Max Wall substantially less than they did a few weeks ago
and the aches and pains are receding a lot - partly because of losing weight and partly just through being more active - and willing to be active. Sola, that salad doesnt sound so strange at all - it sounds delicious and very restrained compared to some of my " kitchen sink " or " tip up the fridge " concoctions
This is it - oo yes - mixed roast veggies - used to make this a lot when I was vegetarian and serve either with humous or a cooked lentil sauce. The leftovers make a great variation on ratouille with a bit of extra garlic and onion and some tinned toms the next day !
MrsM, for heavens sake treat yourself to that lamp ! I think you deserve to, all the effort you've been making and its a lovely non food reward. You've been doing so well on your grocery challenge too that I don't think it would be extravagant
Taplady - my colleagues have now learnt not to eat fishy treats in my prescence - as I can't even bear someone eating something with tuna in it near me - makes me heavealso makes me very sad that I feel like that.
Had a nice day shopping, walking and reading. Not long up from a nap and pondering about dinner. Have quite a bit of washing up to do and not sure that I want go to getting it all messy again right after, LOL. So think I will make my cauli cheese and mashed swede and carrot tonight and have that with some of the leftover bacon from lunch, and reheat those with roast pots, parsnips and stuffing tomorrowAlso have some pastry in the fridge that needs using up by 23/10  have to put my thinking cap on - might see if I have enough energy to make some apple pies Monday afternoon.

Well done to the losers!!!!!!:A
Mrs M - Well done on putting that woman in her place - cheeky madam!!
I hate fish, I'm veggie anyway but will cook meat for OH however if he wants fish he has to have it when he's out or I am!!
I was quite good last night, only had 3 small drinks and ordered hallumi and tomato ciabatta with spicy wedges for my meal (the only non meat thing on the menu)
When it arrived it was huge  I only ate half of it and was full!
I was home quite early and had a bag of ryvita minis later on after OH rang to say he was working on until midnight as someone hadn't turned in
Today I've had toast for brekkie, soup and a roll for lunch, a bag of lowfat crisps for an afternoon snack and veggie sausage, mash and beans followed by a yoghurt for tea.
I walked about 6 miles today and done loads of cleaning this afternoon so tonight I'm going to relax in front of the tv and might have a glass of wine (only a little one!!):rotfl:
See you tomorrow ladies :T

Got the Xmas menu for the dance club today:-
Chose Melon for starters
Salmon for main
THEN:- Proffiterolles for desert
think I can afford them, won't be a big portion anyway.
Tonight I had chilli made with minced turkey, no rice just a portion of home grown runner beans.
Made a conscious effort to eat slower, instead of having food in my mouth and some waiting on the fork ready to shovel in as soon as I have swallowed I put the fork down and didn't pick it up to get more food until I was ready,
it was amazing how quickly I felt satisfied, just made me realise how much mindless eating can be done,I only ate about half of the portion that I would have done, the rest has gone in the freezer for another time .
Well done to all you losers, hope to see less of you in the future.:TWhat goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -

I love making cakes but just cant resist them so only make them occasionally, I would love to run a tea rooms with loads of gorgeous HM cakes in it! but I'd be as fat as a pig:pit was making a victoria sponge for DH the other week that I damaged the tendons in my wrist! so I have a good excuse for not making any at the moment! I do make a good lemon drizzle cake but last time I made one I ate the lot as DH found it too tangy!:o
Do what you love :happyhear0
