Oops, think I forgot to put my January post on here, although I submitted my savings amount on the form a few weeks back. January has been a relatively smooth month for us - we had the usual xmas bills to pay off the credit card, plus some Euros for a short break in the Canaries to help us through the gloomy British winter. But at least the holiday itself was paid for a few months back. Other costs included some DIY to re-paint the utility room. And also lots of leaving do's at work, for some reason??
For the regulars on the thread...I've updated my spreadsheet totaliser going back to 2012 to include the 2017 savings now, so you can see yourself on the totals here;

Nice spreadsheet. Please can you freeze the first row and the first column?
That would make it a lot easier to read without having to spend ages scrolling up-down and left-right."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

I agree, good sheet. If you freeze panes (which I have just found in View - I'm quite new to google sheets!) can you still sort by a different column? (obviously in numbers of years currently) - for me alphabetical by the second column is easier to find people, or by totals saved, just to check out what my competitive nature is comparing me with :rotfl:
SLSave £12k in 2024 - #2 target is £5000 only £798.34 so far
OS Grocery Challenge 2024 31.1% spent or £932.98/£3,000 annual

Hi all, a little bit of a disappointing start to the year with £227.14 to declare for January.
Number 142
It may be a slower start than you were hoping for, but how good does it feel to start January - officially the worst money month of all!! - in the black to the tune of over £200.00
Well done! To everyone else as well - we're all doing so well!

A good month overall but as February is going to be tricky, I'm going to record nil for now and revisit my January figure in March. Hopefully its not all eaten into...0

Was looking forward to kicking off February's savings with a nice little boost from not paying the council tax this month, only to find they took it anyway.
I am not on 12 monthly payments :mad:
Am I wrong? February and March are the months you don't pay if you pay 10 installments..?0
