clippy - I recently bought a dyson compatible hose off ebay for about £10 including postage, it works just the same as the original one.

calling - hope the night sweats pass it really does not sound like fun.

We have cycled today and then got the kids and the dog out for a 2 hour walk.

    Happy Birthday EE! :)

Have managed 2 or 3 more NSDs but I am not too bothered about those - in my head I've moved to 2017 and Jan challenges/ goals (both mse and non mse). Had a small shop in Tesc0 today - needed milk, crisps and sausage rolls :D Also bought some yS chicken for the freezer - wasn't on list but will be eaten in JAn, so a worthwhile purchase :)

Currently watching Labyrinth - haven't seen in it years :)

    Hi everyone

Another quiet day as guests out and tonight they have gone out for a meal. I have loads of uneaten food that they bought that is mainly meat that I don't eat, such a shame as I think most of it will have to be thrown away, as its out of date now.
Anyway that's it from me, another sfd but at least I got out to my friends.

Happy birthday EE - hope it's been a good one.
I braved Mr S today expecting the worst, but like you I found the shops to be pretty quiet. I 'missed out' on all of the reduced Christmas cards etc (didn't need any) but there was plenty of reduced Christmas food. Ideal for me as we did our family Christmas Dinner today (we were out yesterday and Christmas Day) - I got some posh veggies to roast and the most amazing chocolate tiffin dessert at half price. Plus just about my own body weight in cheese. My fridge is full of leftovers, cheese and meat. Happy days.
Other than that, I am finally up to date with all of my crochet projects, with 3 days to spare. I have friends expecting babies next year so I need to be getting on with that, but I want to make myself something of a shawl first to use up some of my leftover wool stash.

Hey everyone... hope you've had an awesome Christmas!

    :xmassign::xmastree:
I managed to make it to 13 days of NSD, and didn't have an aneurism from stress on Christmas Day.

Someone said my guests weren't coming to judge me on my tidiness, so not to stress... wish that were wholly true! One guest wanted to come and clean my house herself... her own anxiety issues about tidiness. She didn't in the end though. Think she was feeling better by the time Christmas came. Phew!

If only my 13 NSDs were 14 and OH hadn't got me to spend an unnecessary extra £60.

Please cross all your fingers... I'm possibly okay for my tax bill, but this difference might be crucial.

    Happy Birthday Eager Elephant.

I had Chinese leftovers at just after midnight (Tues), felt so decadent. Followed by 2 hours reading and then lots more sleep. Have done quite a bit of housework today, bath scrubbed, bathroom floor cleaned, recycling and washing up (including the roasting dishes/ trays) sorted, some surfaces cleared and wiped and then a roast dinner prepared.

Beloved returned today (I thought she was coming back on Thursday). Brought several more bags (books, a large monitor, chinchilla food, a robot vaccuum cleaner - they will have to clear their room to use that and presents - think her parents have bought the duvet cover).

I was worried about the beef not being enough for 4 so added 2 chicken breasts (enormous must only have been 4 in the bag, usually 6 or 7). I had bought 2 trays of parsnips/ carrots ys'ed to 18p each - I have both but thought at that price, also helped with shelf juggling as they were in their own small roasting trays. Made stuffing, cooked sprouts/ broccoli/ mixed veg in the microwave and used oven chips as DS3 isn't keen on roasties, prepared garlic mushrooms (saved for another day) and used the beef juices in the gravy granules which was absolutely lush.

Beloved opted for the chicken so I gave DS3 it as well. DS2 turned up just as I had put things back in the turned off oven to keep warm. He wasn't well (had been trying to contact me to re-arrange) so he just hed carrots and parsnips, a thick slice of beef and a little gravy then went back home to sleep. He has to work Thursday and Friday as there will only be 2 of them in and no-one is allowed to work in the lab alone.

Home made pie Beloved brought back with her and the strawberry cheesecake I had defrosted are in the fridge for another day. I had had enough as I ate some of DS2's intended share. Earlier I had another large bowl full of raw veg and jusjed up plain hummous (dash of L&Perrins, dried basil, paprika and liquid from a tin of tomatoes as all the tomato puree has gone).

I have been reading and dozing ever since. Feel that tomorrow is a 'free' day as I was going to spread the cleaning over 3 days to be ready for Beloved's return/ New Year. Will please myself tomorrow (need a quick trip to the library as 2 books couldn't be extentended), I am out on Thursday and will continue bursts of cleaning combined with resting on Friday and Saturday. More Snowman sewing I think.

Today I am grateful for peace and quiet (I am car park monitoring, only 12 cars max on Christmas Eve, 4 Christmas Day, up to 14 yesterday and 11 today. Library and Town hall still closed and shopping and entertainment centres have moved away from here), for seeing DS2 and sharing a meal (whilst attempting not to gather more germ bugs) and for Beloved's safe return (we saved all the green triangles for her).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
