If a cop car is following you for three miles he may as well match your speed and record his own, keeping the same distance. Far more accurate.

    More accurate than what?

How do you know what distance they kept or maintained it?

I think you need to watch 'Traffic Cops' & 'Police Interceptors' much, much more - to see how they do it.

I was caught speeding once - two villages 30 mph limits, separated by a short stretch. I sped up in the middle, didn't slow down quick enough when into the second one - 35 mph too fast!

Ironic, really, can remember back in 1990 doing 100 - 115 mph on the M5 between the M4 and Gloucester at about 9.00 am - in a Ford Sierra. and years later doing a 100 mph on the M4 just west of Sarn - in a Peugeot Expert TD (fast before you know it).

I got caught speeding just the once in Israel doing the ton in the Negev desert, overtook a low loader with a M1 Abrams battle tank on the back, police escort at the front. Got off with a warning but not before the officer drew his weapon, proper brown shorts!

But comments about safety are simply irrelevant. They do not need to be pre-empted. Safety is not relevant to a charge of exceeding the speed limit.

I know you believe yourself to be king of this thread and due to your holier-than-thou attitude posts I have to ask... do you drive a Morris Minor?

Try reading what I've actually written, and pausing to think. It's really not that hard. For most people.

Hi. Yesterday about 9am i was pulled over for doing 97 on a motorway with limit of 70.

I know it was silly. I was in a rush and roads were clear. Only a few other cars every now and then. I overtook a car doing around 80-85 then didnt drop my speed.

I got a slip from the police officer with the code sv77011.

Nothing was said at what would happen. Any ideas?

I have had license for under 2 years and its clean. I never speed always well within the limit.

How did you miss the police car if there was no other traffic?!

That comment is a bit hypocritical coming as it does from someone who can't even watch a simple video without either misinterpreting what they are seeing or making things up to try to make a point.

Sorry OP. But the bottom line is no matter if you have never gone past the speed limit before or if you do it every day, you where caught. Regardless of what other countries do. Regardless of driving experience it is over the limit.

Wait and see what happens. I would suggest being very honest and saying sorry.
