Roll up, roll up - any more weigh-ins before the chart closes for this week????0
-
No weigh in for me efrieze - no chocolate or alcohol or meals out for a while either (even though it's my birthday on saturday Sob!).
As for the swap boxes - I was hoping to send over 1 or 2 tasty things that are fairly unique to Norn Iron (no, not chocolate), something comforting for this bad weather and something related to losing weight (all for £7 - we'll see how far I can stretch it!). And perhaps, based on the research of my swap box recipient - something especially for them!)
Anyone else with any suggestions.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

PS I'm seriously allergic to any lotions & potions ...:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Ok, lovely peeps, another month and another week 1 of the chart.
A big congratulations to x_raphael_xx who is the Slimmer of the week having lost a wonderful 4.6 lbs. Well done to all others who have lost and in some cases maintained and keep going to those who gained a little this week (or over a long holiday). A special well done to anic who lost 17.6 lbs (!!!!) in her first month on her diet. An outstanding achievement which doesn’t quite fit into the 2 lb weight loss chart but still deserves a special acknowledgement.
If I got anything wrong, let me know...

...My step count for yesterday was only 19,168 due to the fact that MrP and DD MADE me stop jogging on the spot, saying they couldn't concentrate on anything because of the bump bump bump :rotfl:...
...I like your idea delly on the comfort winter food, I usually end up doing a load of jacket potatoes over the months, with low calorie versions of various toppings such as chilli with them, any other ideas will be greatly appreciated by my family who, unlike me, get a bit bored with jackets...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

LydiaSophia - well done, another person to join the target members club. What plan did you follow?
Hi, I didn't actually follow a plan, I made one up myself. I basically cut out fat from my diet (didn't go stupid still ate diet cream cheese etc). I also stopped snacking and had a really light meal in the evenings. I also cut right down on alcohol.
I did alot of exercise aswell, exercise bike, tennis, swimming etc.
I was actually really suprised how quickly the weight came off, just panicing now that it will all pile back on again!Lydia

grannynise wrote: »A question for (i'm guessing) the females.... as soon as I really get into a low fat diet my nails (which are pretty awful at the best of times) start flaking and splitting. It's happened often enough that it can't just be a coincidence. Does any one else notice this and if so what could I do about it? Shall I eat rather a lot of chocolate?
I suggest you still try to incorporate some good fats into your diet granny, step away from the chocolate and bring out the avocados, mackerels and olives...These sorts of fats also help keep your skin and hair in good condition.
If I remember correctly from talking to our resident nail expert zinc is also quite important (I think that's what is said to cause white spots (that they indicate calcium deficiency is a myth) although an alternative theory is that these are probably more from banging the nail bed through normal day to day stuff...) I'll try and remember to ask her when she comes back from malta
A quick google has led me to this link...I have no idea how scientific their research is but it wouldn't harm to up your intake of these vitamins and minerals through food....Hope that helps some
