I've had a pretty lazy day, aside from washing and shopping little to no exercise:rolleyes: Did find some WW pizzas in asda which will do me great:D

Why is it harder to stick to a diet at the weekend? I seem to find it hard to regulate meal times:confused:

Thought I'd say welcom Ness as well

Hi, I was very kindly invited over here after clogging up the recipe thread (sorry). I am Ness, have six children and am at Slimming World but finding it tough going. It's partly cos I'm getting a bit bored, partly because some of their staples (dairylea light, nimble, anyhting with artificial sweeteners in) I really don't like, and partly because I seem to lack the time to plan meals that are varied enough. I am a bit of a Jamie Oliver babe, liking lots of olive oil and rustic bread and 'proper' food if you see what I mean, I'm a veggie too. I also tend to grab food when I'm stressed which is a lot of the time. I weigh in every week but can't stay for group because of the babies, I don't think that helps!

I'm going to look back through this thread over the next few days, but wanted to say hi, I hope this can be a bit of a boost for me.

    Thanks, Ness.

Hi Ness - welcome to the thread, I'm glad you found us. And there's no need to apologise! I did SW for a number of years, and there are several others here who are following it too, so feel free to ask lots of questions and we'll do our best to help.

Wow - six children, they must keep you busy, what ages are they?

    Hi all :hello:

Hope you're all having a good weekend. DH and I decided to make the most of the lovely weather and went to Brighton for the day - hi BB, we might have passed each other today if you were anywhere near the seafront or the Lanes! - we had a long walk along the prom, and wandered round the Lanes before venturing down to the beach and walking back along there, which made my knees ache!

Julesgr - I suppose the weekends are hardest for most of us because we've got more free time and more opportunities for temptation. If weekends are difficult it might help to save up calories, points or syns (depending which plan you follow) to give you some flexibility.

Bails - DB is in hospital overnight having her gall bladder out.

Delly - I hope the op went well, make sure you get plenty of rest and tell your OH you need lots of TLC!

Petrichor - I love your smilies 2rmobc2.gif thanks Mum! ;)

Have a good day tomorrow everyone.

Hope everyone is haveing a good weekend - have just spent the last three nights trying to catch up on this thread don't you lot talk a lot (it's great). We have been told we are not allowed to use the internet at work any more so I hadn't seen any posts since about Monday and it has taken me since Thursday night to read the last 18 pages.

I know these are probably all out of date now and sorry for the late replies - apologies also if I have missed anything important but:-

    (a) Well done to all the losers an maintainers.

    (b) Can I also join the Brussel Sprouts Club - I love them "well cooked" so they are soft (probably no goodness left in them by that chance)

    (c) I love Freddos too - especially the solid ones.

    (d) Can't remember who said about the toothpaste but I find when I am at work, eating a couple of Wrigleys Extra and then drinking some water workss a treat for me - gives you a nice "fresh" feeling the whole way down!!!

    (e) Definately a bit late now as you have probably already gone into hospital but I hope everything goes well with your operation Delly and make sure OH looks after you well when you get home.

    (f) Suggs - hope you have a good time in Skegness - I have never been there but my mum grew up in Mablethorpe just next to Skegness and said it is a great place to go for a holiday (don't know if that is true or she is just looking back with rose tinted glasses as she never took me when I was wee!!)

    (g) Everyone having your pyjama parties - I hope you are all feeling better soon.

    (h) Jenpoptab - can you tell me how you make your pizza base as I love pizza but have been deliberately avoiding them since I have been trying to lose weight

    (i) Hi Ness (and any other newbies that I missed) - I'm sure you'll like this thread - everyone is so friendly and give really good advice.

    (j) Petrichor - I just love all your smilies - you always make your posts look so friendly

Anyway, sorry for the long post - just wanted to put in all the replies I would normally have done when they were posted.

I'm off to my bed now so I'll speak to you all in the morning and hopefully manage to keep up again.

    Night night!!

Yeah Lois: yes I was! I was that slim young leggy blond in the croptop who sasheyed past you a few times :D (ahem...make mental note never to post my photo on the forum ...)
It was such a gorgeous day wasn't it. We had a lovely afternoon browsing around, though mainly the north laines which the tourists don't know about so much, but well worth a trip (cross north street with 'the lanes' and the sea behind you). A bit more off the wall that the antique fest that is the lanes.

A 'day one' today after yesterday went a bit pear shaped (or should I say 'chip' shaped) I was tired and emotional after the wedding. Been good today: only had a cup of tea out and returned home for a SW meal

Just been catching up on all the posts. Since my good wi last week have been slacking big time....Tried to make up for it yesterday by going to look round a new gym. It's a ladies only one so I'm hoping i won't be too intimidated and can get myself motivated! It would help if I had a friend to go with but despite hints no=one is interested lol.

...I had another good step count yesterday, and that was even after I'd been shopping and forgotten to put the counter on; I'm finding it quite addictive, I made MrP go out for a walk with me yesterday evening just to get the number up :rotfl:although this pales into insignificance with all of you who are joining gyms :T ...

    Morning all

Hope you are all doing well

I've got my first weigh in at the doctors tomorrow and on the whole have been really quite good this month so hopefully I will have done well. If not I will be really disappointed.

I can't believe there is someone who has never heard of Freddos - they were part of my staple diet when I was growing up (maybe part of the reason I am this size now)

They are "frog" shaped chocolate bars made by Cadburys and have a picture of a frog on the front. Taste the same as dairy milk except in a smaller size. They also have a caramel filled one. Pure magic!!!

    Hi folks,

Just a quick one as I'm only home and off to bed in a minute.

Gall bladder is removed (and rightly so according to the surgeon - it was rotten - another lovely side effect of my pregnancy with DS).

Down side is I now have a lifetime of low fat and v.low fat eating as apprarently the cholesterol that formed as gallstones will now go straight to my arteries.

Thanks for all your good wishes. I'm sorry I can't hit your "thanks" buttons but I'm at the end of my tolerance for sitting up straight right now.

    hope you're all doing well.

    Edel.
