Morning all :hello:
KPC - what's dulche de leche? I've never heard of it (although it sounds like that's the way it should stay if it's that delicious!).
Lois I googled it HERE
It seems to be similar to the tins of condensed milk, you heat up in the pan of water to make a toffee??
Nice to see Ajax on form then :-) is there no stopping dirty rainmack man??? apparantly he's fastly than a speeding bulletProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

The problem here Ajax is that I think Raphael was looking for something NICE to replace her hot chocolate!!
Victory, I think you may be talking about the BBC thang, she's dressed in red and black and looks fab! I understand the dance is called Le Roc (sp?) or something...
Serendisglair, perhaps not concentrate on the 'loads of hard graft and sweat for 2 apples' info - that's enough to even stop me going to the gym and I'm a gym bunnyAre you counting calories, is that part of your 'plan'? And do you like going to the gym, because if not it might be much better for you to take up some exercise you enjoy? Just a thought - it's far better when exercise feels like fun not torture! Oh, and just to add to your elephant facts, I found out on holiday you can buy a baby elephant for £130!!! If I could've fitted it in my suitcase...:rotfl:
Petrichor (I so wish your name was Petunia!), when I'm better and can dig it out from all the boxes we've still not unpacked, I'll PM you some sleep ideas, unless anyone else is interested? Most of them are in my head but there's probably some extras I've forgotten in all my bumpf from the specialist. Poor sleep really doesn't help with the weight thing (although obviously you have overcome that now) so it's good to get sorted. And for many, many other reasons too of course!
Still rotten here which is a pain because we have people turning up in a bit for our housewarming weekend and all I want to do is be in bed! Anyone think of any solutions yet? Thanks xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

srry for mentioning dulche de leche everyone. As Suggs said its what you use to make a banoffee pie. MErchant Gourmet do it in jars it's in the cookng or speciality section of the supermarket. It is TOTALLY incompatible for healthy eating, I'm not going to pretent there's a way aroud it because there isnt. On SW it's2.5 syns per tablespoon or, the way i tend to consume it, it's 67.5 syns PER JAR. Hence i only ever buy it when i know that i have 6 people coming to dinner and I've been super specially good for about a fortnight previously.
Bails, why not have a pyjama party? tell the menfolk you'll do some pillow fighting, I guarantee they'll all be up for it. I'm in a good mood today as i now have a washing machine! And tomorrow I'll have hot water!
Raphael, if ajax offers you some vitamin e enriched night cream say no.0 -
Raphael - your work schedule sounds awful, it must play havoc with your diet as well as being able to get to sleep. When you're not having meals at regular times it's much more tempting to eat unhealthy snacks all the time.
The work schedule isn't really too bad, and I prefer it to a year ago where I didn't know what hours I was going to work til the day before. At least now I'm on a rolling shift so I can plan my days. (I even know what I'm working xmas!)
I do find thou that I'm eating at weird times, if I've done a night shift I get home in the early hours, and while others are having their breakfasts, I'm tucking into spag bol, or chicken & salad!!:rotfl:

Does anyone else have this problem when they're ill? I can't taste anything and yet I seem to be troughing like a pig! I'm wondering if I'm trying to find something I can taste but isn't this just silly and pointless and bloddy unhelpful from a WL point of view!!
My friends are about to arrive and I'm going back to bed - the pyjama party is starting early...:DThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

grannynise wrote: »I know there have been some good ideas already but I'll put my idea in too. What about crudites with some home made dips .... houmus made with a can of chickpeas, garlic, vlf fromage frais ... whizz it all up. Pate made with fried (frylite) chicken livers, garlic, onions, vlf from frais. Add herbs and spices to taste in both of these.
Now what are you doing for the main and pud? I've got friends coming on Sunday. main course is beef olives (long thin vegetables in the middle rather than a fatty stuffing) and home made fish pate for a starter. But I'm stuck on pud, I don't really want to do a fruit salad which is all that comes to mind. They are quite foody people and sadly I feel the need to impress. Any pudding ideas? (Have to be quick and easy as well as impressive ... no pressure peeps!)
Thanks GN - some fab ideas from you and others you all may save my bacon on the starter!!!! Main course is going to be chicken pinwheels - bashed out/flattened chicken breasts spread with vlf garlic & herb soft cheese and fresh basil then rolled up like a roulade thing and frylited on the hob to brown the outside then sliced so it lookes like a catherine wheely thing. Served on bed of fresh tagliatelle with a tomato and onion based sauce round the edge - all courtesy of Mary Berry and dead quick and easy and not too full of calories!!!! Pudding are some individual chocolate puds - and I'll only be making 5 so I can't have one!! going to do a fruit board for me and expect we'll all just continue to pick at it over the course of the evening while the girls whup the boys at trivial pursuit and uno!!!!!

Hello
I'm having the same problem, stinky cold and chest infection has left everything tasting like cotton wool/cardboard/dust. I don't know what the answer is because I'm totally starving all the time, so am eating ridiculously silly things.... ice cream with extra cream anyone??
Can I join your pyjama party please?? I've been in my night clothes for the last 2 days now!0 -
