Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I am still trying to eat healthily except for the box of Maltesers we polished off last night, and the wine and then Baileys I drank. Today I am back on healthy eating plan.starlight_xx wrote: »So sorry to hear about your dad
Sounds like Xenical your doctor is talking about. I tried it, and it never made a bit of difference. My doctor reckoned cos my diet is so low fat that there wasnt enough fat for it to work with.
It was a real disapointment, Id heard such positive things about it.
Me being me tried everything to test it lol Would have my weekly Chinese and take one and still nothingbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

....... pooh, this may or may not be relevant to you, but is your health something you could address in memory to your dad? 4 years ago my parents both went within a month of each other... I was actually taking my mom on hospital visits after my dad's stroke when she was taken ill and I had two different wards to visit. Anyway, after my dad went I promised him that I'd try to sort myself out to try and make sure that I reduced my risk of stroke and heart disease by losing my lard. I can't think of better inspiration than that... it galvanised me, that's for sure.

Hiya everyone
I've fallen off the wagon big style todayWent to the doctors this morning and my bad cold is actually a chest infection so I've had to start on anti-biotics. I feel really rough and have just eaten a fair amount of ice cream and a chicken and bacon pasta meal for two  Grrr.. I was so determined to be really 'good' this week as well!!!

Thanks ajaxgeezer I hadn't even thought of that. I really should think of my own family too and try to improve my health by losing as much of this weght as I can. My mum died 10 years ago and I remember that I made a huge effort to lose weight then but now I am much heavier than then. Thanks for the advice.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

a1969, come and join me and mistywoo in the 'could do better' corner. It's not worth beating yourself up about what#s happened, just move on. I always want to feed a cold too, but can you say that you really enjoyed it? Plan yourself an ice cream feast for next week but tell yourself you have to earn it - thats what i'm doing and if i stay focussed it works. btw, the skiny cow ice cream stuff is lush and almost counts as healthy eating . . . .
petrichor, thank you for explaining your username, I really enjoyed it. I have never come across that word before and it's a beauty. Have you ever read Douglas Adam's meaning of liff? full of great words for experiences! Poohbear, it sounds like your doctor is being a touch insensitive but i know a few doctors and that is generally their way. Stick with this thread and we will all support you in your journey. You are coping with an awful lot and doing great!0 -
Thanks kpc

Well done Suggs. 11 stone: can't quite grasp that as that isn't far off a whole 'me'. You have done your health soooo many favours by shifting that weight :T :T . Any plans to start maintaining soon?:rotfl:
I am trying to maintain, honest just trying to understand the balance and to be 100% honest I am worried that I might start gaining. Does that make sense? I am getting really anal about it all, working out the calories, trying to ensure I balance the books calorie wise.
I suppose the issue could be I cannot face NOT going to the gym, I know I shouldnt go so often right now or if I should I should cut down on CV work and raise the weight work, but right now I walk in there is every good intention in the world, but once I am on the cycle I seem to be driven to work hard! Does that make sense? am I talking sense?
I hate writing this sort of post as I dont want people to mis read what I am saying, I have always had a weight problem, still do actually, and for once I have found a magic formula to lose weight, oddly though that part is quite easy, now I have to change and make adjustments and I guess I need to take a deep breath and take a gamble, but the formula is more difficult this time as the margain of error is greater. Again I just need to trust myself
