Good work Spirit, nice one :-)

Nise, I just remembered you've had some massive losses this last couple of weeks. Stop being greedy, you can't sustain that EVERY week. Next week will be better

Well Done Losers! (I just love writing that, so politically incorrect to call anyone a loser) Starlight, Karren, Ajax, Pokey, Suggs, Skint_catt, saversarn and Rachelja. :j :j :j

Lois the pound you've gained must be muscle from all that gymming. It'll be busy now metabolising away to ensure a loss next time.

Thanks BB for the positives. I was goingto thank Ajax too but now he's spoilt it by trying to make me be sensible and adult. By the way Ajax, what are we betting?

Petrichor -- I love that smell of wet ground, even when it's just pavements. I thought I was the only one and that I was just slightly weird. But now that you've told us the word for the fragrance it clearly is a perfectly reasonable liking. I love the people on this thread --- someone who likes the smell of ground, somone who thinks Stewar Ainsworth's fit ... all I need now is a soulmate who likes brussel sprouts. I don't feel at all out of place!

Have 'em every week with my roast :D:DYumsville

    xx
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

..... I shall resist the temptation to be entirely inappropriate and simply say "Sportsman's bet"

[quote=ajaxgeezer;6447844]... BB, it's at the chicken bovril shop.
    Just hit the thanks button........:D

D'oh! Silly me: I'd always wondered what they sold in the there every time I walked past :D
Bouncy bouncy bails. You go girl :T My OH calls it tigger mode when I'm like that. Hope you throw of the cold soon. What is the eating plan you are following? Sounds an excellent and do able target of 1llb a week for 25 weeks.
I'd love to lose another 7lbs by Xmas (12 weeks).
Got a wedding and buffet on Friday. Do you think the happy couple would mind the munch of bananas going on in the background between the words 'I' and 'do'? Got to fill up to avoid the dreaded sausage rolls...

Well done Suggs. 11 stone: can't quite grasp that as that isn't far off a whole 'me'. You have done your health soooo many favours by shifting that weight :T :T . Any plans to start maintaining soon?:rotfl:

    welcome2.gifqueenieviolet.
Well done skintcatt, ajax, pokey. You all did better than my maintain. I hope I can up the exercise quota this week. This afternoon I could go into town for an outfit for the wedding (stress) (which might not fit me for too long)or wear something I've already got ,but will soon (:D ) shrink out of, and go for a walk. MMMmmmm.

Ha ha, that's exactly how I feel BB, just like Tigger!

The cold is slowly getting better, stuffing myself with honey, lemon and ginger, yum!:D

As for the eating, I'm using a Patrick Holford (of 'Optimum Nutrition' fame) recipe book for GL meals which is basically the next step on from GI - as well as looking at the GI of a food (how much energy a food has compared to glucose, which is 100) it also looks at the quantity of that 'sugar' in a portion e.g. on a GI diet, watermelon is bad because it releases its sugar v quickly ie it's high GI but because a portion is mostly made up of water and is only 6% sugar, it's classed as a good food on GL. Which would make more sense. (I can't actually eat watermelon though, due to earlier incident in poo conversation lol!!)

If you're confused, it's only my explanation - not feeling v coherent today lol! The problem I have with it is that it does complete meals, which is great initially but as my OH is veggie I want to start adapting them and am not sure of the GL of individual foods, so I'm looking out for another guide. Meat is also very low in points (usually only 1 point and I'm allowed 40 a day and 5 for drinks/puddings) so I'm having a dilemma as to whether to cut it out completely; we'll see.

The basic idea is to keep your blood sugars as stable as possible (good for everyone but especially us BB) so I need to eat protein with everything - 5 nuts with a piece of fruit means the fruit releases its sugar more slowly, so I don't get big spikes and troughs in my energy levels.

I've only played with it so far but I can't eat everything it recommends per day, I'm just too stuffed! It seems the answer for me so we'll see how it goes.

7lb by Christmas sounds well within your grasp. What did you end up doing this afternoon? I reckon bananas are a much better bet than crunchy apples, just don't leave the skins in the aisle! xx

Well done poppycat on the mushroom kit instead of chocolate - I'm not worthy!

And what might you be suggesting about BB's 'walk'?... ;)

, can I be your soulmate - I LOVE brussel sprouts!!!

And I too absolutely love the smell after the first rain, it's so cool there's a word for it (I always loved your Planet Petrichor thang, Pet-unia :D). I first fell in love with it on my gap year in Zimbabwe but love it anywhere, it's a magical smell.

And Grannynise, cheer up, it seems you're doing fantastically well to me; well done you! Who's Stewart Ainsworth by the way?

....oh bails you had to be here during the great September "archaeology totty" debate. Small children were trampled in the exodus, I swear.

You can be my soulmate anyway... even if you don't know who he is. Two matches out of three isn't bad. There's a picture of him further back on the thread - 21st September - very kindly supplied by Petrichor. I WISH I knew how to put pictures or links on this..... is there a book or something I could access to find out how to do that? If I try to copy and paste it just doesn't work.

BB - how do you feel about wet pavements? I already know you have [STRIKE]good[/STRIKE] excellent taste in men.
