I'm a happy granny, although it's taken a few embaressing moments. I sent back a salmon salad that I'd requested with no dressing as the potatoes had mayonnaise on them. I know it's my right as the customer and if it was something like an allergy I wouldn't have a problem with making a fuss. But somehow when it's to do with weight loss it feels different. I suppose it's because I'm imagining everyone looking and thinking how fat I am, why am I bothering when it's so clearly a lost cause ...... and so on.:o
Any advice for dealing with such situations?
1969baby I think that when I'm eating healthily I should have only food that I really really like. And to some extent, b***** the cost. So I what I've got this week is ready prepared mango and pineapple, blueberries, fennel, good fillet steak, interesting fish (I think it's bass), sweet potatoes sliced and dry roasted, large prawns.
I don't eat all ofthat for every meal. Even I would burst. And what I LOVE (but I know I'm weird) is ready prepared brussel sprouts, cooked in the bag then eaten with salt and basalmic vinegar.
Well done on the loss Granny! Re the restaurant - you were within your rights to send the plate back (they didn't do what you asked!) and if you think people are talking about you being a lost cause - stuff them!!! You are doing something about your weight whereas they can do nothing about being narrow minded stuffwits :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Are you saving up for a REALLY big night ou Ajax? Sounds cool. Nice to be apreciated btw, even if the carpet under the desk is starting to look a teeny bit mangy . . . .
Having waded through 4 pages I'm bound to have missed some stuf but here goes . . .
FTB - PRETTY dress! good choice! So thats 2 of us trying to squeeze into pretty dresses. Well done BB on your achievement sounds like you are enjoying your break without getting into food trouble. Welcome back to Karren and Raphael. A1969, I've posted a couple of carbfest recipes on the lw thread - take a look at page 1 of this thread for a link to it. IF you are doing SW then McCain Home Fries are fairly low syn - you can get quite a hefty portion plus light mayo for your daily syn allowance that might help you along. For another carb lovers snack try spraying a baking tin with some frylight and add a can ( or two) of drained rinsed, dried off chickpeas - add spices if you like. Roast in a fairly hot oven till they go crunchy. Miles tastier than peanuts and actually quite good for you!0 -

...... I disagree, from what I see the carpet is kept in very good order
Saving up, yes. Not for a big night out but we're taking Bailey the MSE dog down to the seaside for a long weekend. Staying in a caravan in Somerset. Would never do that if it wasn't for it being a pet-friendly place, I like my comfort too much generally. Really excited about it though, just hope it's not too cold and wet.
Great tip about the chick peas.. I just happen to have 10 tins of them as they were being sold off megacheap by the local Asian supergrocer0 -
Hello again!!
Thanks for all your advice, I'll try to formulate a plan of action, to include potatoes in various guises, some yummy (expensive) fruit, the chickpeas idea sounds fab too!
Granny, I think I'll have to give the brussels a miss, they have even worse effects on me than my bean casserole
I still have another small person here, so not quite reached the point of freedom yet! On the plus side my grocery bill will probably halve now its just me and my daughter to feed0 -
No loss to post this week
3 words: chocolate fudge cake
The baby made me do it ...0 -

Nah Delly, if Mr BB is anything to go by, it makes no difference even if endless opportunities for triple word scores present themselves. :rotfl:
Lying in bed feeling lousy. So tired yesterday and this morning thought I'd try a cold shower this morning to liven myself up. Now in bed feeling dreadful. I'm on mega immune suppressant drugs so hope it isn't bad news.
Petrichor. You never waffle. Reading your posts is like curling up in front of a roaring fire, with a good book and a purring cat on my lap.
bbI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi guys
Have been v. busy for last few days and will hopefully get round to reading posts tomorrow. I wanted to post a maintain this week which isn't suprising really as I lost so much in last 2 weeks. Well done to all those who lost and keep going to those who maintained or gained. I'm looking forward to catching up tomorrow.
