Hmm if you are still at home then wasn't it her food in the first place that made you put on weight?

No. To be fair she's right, but we disagree on lots of things and with all the fighting I started to comfort eat (and eat and eat). Once I'm out of there I won't find that need to eat as OH and I will do lots together in the evenings and weekends.

Wooohoooooo:j Another 2lb loss this week for me (although I fell off the wagon again on Friday evening - I went out for a mexican with hubby:o ). So total loss = 4lbs and another 10 to go....

I bought this dress (I'm in love :blushing:) on Saturday for a special occassion and it fits me (but not comfortably!) now but I can't wait till I'm 10lbs lighter- it will be perfect! It's definitely my motivation!!!

Well done on the loss! and motivation is good :T

Ah right! make sure you do stuff though! when I moved down to be with OH before we got married we were concerned with saving money so stayed in with DVD's, take outs and beer from Majestic Wine!

OH isn't into takeouts, but we both like wine so that will be our only downfall. I can resist through the week, but will prob enjoy the weekends!

...to not be into takeouts....I can only dream! No matter how motivated I am, the smell of cooking from the indian takeaway outside the train station when I get home makes me  everytime. It is the thing I miss most.

i seem to be having a real self destruction streak at the moment. went a bit wild on the weekend with the carbs and all my favs crusty bread, cream cakes, chocolates and then when i was supposed to be restarting on monday it just continued and ate huge bar of galaxy and a fruit crumble. yesterday wasnt much better had hospital appointments and never had time for a proper sit down breakfast or lunch so just grabbed sweet stuff all day instead. ended up feeling pretty yucky last night so i think my stomach was rebelling. hospital said the muscles in my back are extremely weak from lack of exercise so has arranged a physio so more depressed now than usual as that now means another hospital trip per week and going as much as i do is bad enough. i must try to do better and am hoping tomorrow will be my monday!!

I was sorry to read this home, but it seems that you're making things harder for yourself by buying all these things in the first place. I know what it's like and have been through this myself (but with better health fortunately) and the best thing I did was not to have any destructive stuff in the cupboards at all so I stopped buying it. As a start could you try buying only healthy things to resort to when these bad times occur, such as pears or bananas; Options is a nice hot drink to have if you want a chocolate taste. Don't deny yourself everything that you like but limit yourself to a cream cake once a week and eat it to enjoy not as a comfort, the same with puddings try just having one on a Sunday say. If you have children who like all the chocolates and stuff, make them keep it somewhere out of your sight. By doing this sort of thing I've now reached the stage where sweet foods hold very little attraction. However if you are tempted to eat something that isn't planned as part of your meal, stop and think about it for a few minutes*, ask yourself if you really need it and whether you would prefer to have better health. Hard choices call for hard decisions but will lead to an easier life eventually.

Do you still do that sitting on the ball stuff? When you mentioned it the other week I hadn't any idea what you meant and didn't like to ask, but DD mentioned last weekend that she used one when she was at University and how good it had been for her. I couldn't believe that you could get such muscle control by just trying to keep your balance on one of those things  but apparently it works. DD is going to get a new one so that I can give it a try, I shall feel so stupid doing it, even in the privacy of my own home :o . *Why not sit on your ball for a few minutes everytime you feel tempted before you eat the extra stuff, at least this way you'll be 'paying' for it in some way.

It's not diets that fail, it's us who fail to diet. I really hope things take a turn for the better for you and wish you the best.

ftb :j :j as regards the indian why don't you try the cook yourself thin version of tikka masala at 534 calories instead of over 800 plus for the take away versions? I put it on a few pages back...
    pokey :j :j :j

petrichor great advise for homealone I agree, if you have all the stuff in the house it is really putting your strength to the test and why test it so much? For every full calorie loads of sugar etc there are the healthy options, it is not a habit as yet but it can be, when you go to the supermarket just pick up the good stuff, remember to treat yourself as you would your best friend, you are doing yourself a diservice xx

not bossy at all very true;)

Diets are there for us to try, maybe one paticular one will not work for you but another one will...my friend swears by the Rosemary Conley book and diet she has lost 2 1/2 stone and her H 4 1/2 stone since febuary this year, she gave me the book but I cannot get into it, I prefer WW for it's simplicity, there is one out there, calorie counting, SW, one of them will suit you...

The choc cake with beetroot is cooked:j I took so long faffing around with it I forgot to make something for my dinner so ended up with a WW tuna pasta bake ready meal...as it was going around in the microwave my son asked if I was making dog food:rotfl: :rotfl: it did smell like it and it tasted no better:rotfl: having put the insulin on I was commited to eat it and YUCK:rotfl: dog food is not nice for a human:rotfl:

The chicken is marinading for tomorrow for H chicken tikka masala...

Forgot to say boots tells me I maintained this week so happy with that, one of my work colleagues that I have not seen for 2 months, shrieked when she saw me and insisted that I put some weight back on, after the hardship of loosing there is no way that is going to happen!!!

My mum won't listen to the fact that healthy loss is 1-2lbs a week. She just thinks I shouldn't have got fat in the first place!

A bit like my mum then that said to me it is all about what you put into your mouth and your mouth is obviously very big to fit all that food into:rotfl: :rotfl: My mum thinks thiness is easy, life is easy, it is just me that has no control over food and I deserved to be the size I was:rolleyes:

Some truth in it (huge portion wise) but oh if life was so easy;) remember you are doing the right thing by loosing, you are loosing healthily, you are dealing with it, be happy you are doing the right thing and ask your mum is she perfect?;)
