Next time you're depressed make sure you do something different!!
Paint nails, phone someone or nip outside....or at least make a rule that when you know you're going to comfort eat you have to do 20 star jumps before you do! Its a hard habit to lose (I know) but well worth it as it just ups the depression coz you know you've been naughty. Far better to sort your head out in little ways like this than to ignore the comfort eating cycle.

I have now discovered a great way that will occupy my time so I am not thinking about food or comfort eat due to boredom.

I have decided I am going to make cards. I made one yesterday for my son's friend's 18th birthday and was shocked when I had finished to discover it had taken me nearly two hours (this was because I was totally disorganised and only looked for each thing when I needed it - I will get quicker). The time flew past so fast and as I was concentrating and enjoying what I was doing I didn't feel hungry or bored at all.

I think I will now do home made christmas cards for everybody and at the speed I do them, that should keep me occupied for the next three months.

    Oh - I forgot to say -

Thanks to everybody that gave me ideas for cooking my marrow.

I tried boiling a bit, roasting a bit and put some through a tomato sauce with other vegetables and quorn (never had that before either - it was yum) and have decided I either didn't cook it right or I just don't like it.

I'll just need to drop hints to my friend not to give me any more. If I tell her I quite liked it I know I'll end up with about ten of them:eek:

... maybe ask if it was still in season (and not like petrichor is during Wimbledon week). Would that be enough to show her that you weren't convinced about the taste without upsetting her green-fingered skills?

... the toe breaking thing - the manager didn't see the incident.
  • Thanks for all your advice guys.
I think i am being a little hard on myself not believing my new scales. I think I will look at this week as another week 1 and take it from there! I must have lost something this week cause not a drop of alcohol has passed these lips!! (am aiming for 2 weeks with no booze - last friday we had drinks in the office and I managed to swap my plastic cup (we are that classy!) of wine for one of water and nobody batted an eyelid)

This may sound really stupid but I feel too fat to exercise. Not in a "can't move" way but just in a "everyone will look at me and laugh" way. I have decided that i want to lose 2 stone before i even think about joining a gym.

(sorry, am on a roll here!) Also last night my delightful OH decided that he was going to start a weight gain diet to coincide with my weight loss diet and is setting out to weigh 50lbs more in 12 months!! Involves a lot of weights and about 3500 calories a day. Somehow this doesn't make me happy??!!

Unfortunately she is chinese and doesn't speak very good English so might not understand what I mean. I will probably just say it wasn't to my liking.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll see what I can do - and if the police come after me then the running away will just add to my exercise regime.

.....your task is easier to do properly than his is. Also, yours won't need redressing in later life... you've not drawn the short straw ;)

I do hope so!! I think it will work out for the best as his meal plan involves loads of protein and complex carbs and i will (fingers crossed) just join him but have a smaller portion.
We have just ordered 3 litres of egg whites (how lazy and not very mse!) from myprotein.co.uk so i can make egg white omelettes which are yummy!!!
  • i seem to be having a real self destruction streak at the moment. went a bit wild on the weekend with the carbs and all my favs crusty bread, cream cakes, chocolates and then when i was supposed to be restarting on monday it just continued and ate huge bar of galaxy and a fruit crumble. yesterday wasnt much better had hospital appointments and never had time for a proper sit down breakfast or lunch so just grabbed sweet stuff all day instead. ended up feeling pretty yucky last night so i think my stomach was rebelling. hospital said the muscles in my back are extremely weak from lack of exercise so has arranged a physio so more depressed now than usual as that now means another hospital trip per week and going as much as i do is bad enough. i must try to do better and am hoping tomorrow will be my monday!!
