Morning peeps:D ear infection-off to docs-doc says I am wasting his time if I keep on smoking because the ear is stuffed up because of smoking and has given me nicorette patches to give up:eek: and my annual blood sugar reading has gone up by 1 point so I am in a foul mood, moaned greatly at the doc that surely the 5 stone loss would have improved matters not made the sugars go up:mad: he got such an ear bashing he has given me another blood test to take to see if it was just one of those things or is actually true:rotfl: :rotfl: he kept trying to mutter that my kidney, liver function and cholestrol are fine but...but but but that is all the docs every say to you but:rotfl:
So, I came away with decongestant ear tablets, nicorette patches and more flippin pressure to make my health that bit more 'perfect';)
I am making mexican burgers from the cook yourself thin book today for dinner, it is all ready, not sure about the dips though they seem runny, ommited the olive oil, maybe that is why, never tried black eyed beans so that should be interesting and nor have the kids but the sauces go inside the multi grain wraps so they won't see it;)0 -
Aww serendis and victory, it's a right rough old day so far. Get well soon both.
Am really looking forward to a big bowl full of couscous tonight. I feel liberated0 -
Sorry to read about you having yet another problem Victory, didn't you have an ear problem a few month ago? Poor you
but I agree with your doctor about the smoking, you will feel so much healthier if you pack it in, and that comes from someone who used to smoke 40 a day!!!...Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the black-eye beans, the recipe looks delicious. They're one of my favourite beans, I use them a lot to make a cajun bean stew (nothing authentic, just my own cobbled up recipe but very tasty)...
...serento you too, I hope you start to feel better soon...
...I haven't yet sorted out my menu plan for the rest of the week, but I shall do the stew mentioned above, so thanks for mentioning the beans victory:T I shall be pleased to hear what some others of you have planned for this week as I'm a bit listless (can't think of the word I mean) about the planning, so some inspiration wouldn't go amiss:D...

dammit, I think Ajax is in my office! Yes, I did splutter at 'taking it that way' But then again I've been re-enacting all weekend and filthy mindedness is a way of life there. It can be hard to adjust to the real world again. I had a BRILL time, kept mostly to the diet ( okay the chinese when i got home was a wee bit naughty) and have a couple of medieval recipes to post on the recipe thread. Now I've got to wash and mend all my clothes ready for next year. My fancy dress costume did me okay, there were a lot of belly dancers and one of the bill captains went as Barbara Windsor in Carry On Camping wearing a blonde wig and a pink 46B bikini. And ammo boots. Did i mention the beard? Maybe you had to be there to find it funny . . .
Petrichor, you're right, I do love your new avatar. Hiro is sooo sweet. And if we are talking about archaelogist crushes why has no-one mentioned Indiana Jones yet? I've been in love with him since I was about 11. As far as Christmas dinner goes I do rib of beef. It's just me and OH and turkeys are just too big.
Victory, I nearly always opt to go to Nando's for SW red days. You can get a whole grilled chicken and 2 side dishes for £15.95. I have salad and OH has chips. I loooove nando's food it's really good. We're a bit wussy and usually have lemon and herb. They also do fat free frozen yoghurt and it's gorgeous.0 -
Awww victory.
Sorry to hear of your ear probs & sugar level thingy.

....in your office? I'm under your desk. Smells like Rick Stein's dustbin under here:D
Glad the party went well, forgot it was Carry On day. How you think it went food/drink wise?0 -
Made those lebanese chicken kebabs last night - can't remember whose recipe but thanks, they were lush! Stuffed the chicken into wholemeal pittas with salad and garlic sauce, I still smell this morning0

Ta for the effort ol' chum:beer: but it's not rightI'm not feeling too into things if you know what I mean, I want to get the menu plan done as it does save me a lot of hassle, but now I'm getting increasingly annoyed wth myself as I can't think of the correct word, I've got the thesaurus out but can't even think where to look :rotfl: I really think I'm losing it completely

.....gutted!
Eels your pitta thingy sounds great, even speaking as a veggie. The best discovery I've made over the last couple of months is pitta breads with Quorn in. Must start marinading the quorn in different ways. The pittas will be clobbered for syns on SW but thems the breaks. The old jaws are slobbering now.0
