Sorry, I thought that "seems ok to me" was a back handed compliment. At least - that's the way I took it.. but never mind. DS has been up since cockcrow and I'm a bit tired and confused.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Morning peeps:D went to the boot fair today and the man with the clothes was not there:cool: so I have no new clothes:rotfl:
I love marrows but I only boil them, those and courgettes love 'em don't make a recipe out of them sorry:D
I like gammon for xmas day dinner, prefer it at night rather than at lunch time as it sits heavy on you all day long and if we get a turkey it is only turkey breast as no one likes the grey meat (legs etc), I think my favourite is the gravy!!0 -

... it was a compliment. And if you had a dirtier mind (mentioning no names, kpc) then you'd have picked up on the "took it that way" too

I think I also need to do a huge amount (Suggs like) of exercise in order to see significant losses.
I've made a concerted effort this time for losing wieght and that has meant exercise:eek:.
At first I just did the RC aerobics class but have now increased to Mon- Aquafit, Tues 20 to 30 lengths at the pool and RC aerobics weds.
Have also just bought a mini trampoline for £14.99 from ALDI and use that for about 5 mins a day.
OH thinks I've lost it lol!
Think I'll have to clear the clothes hanger (cross trainer) in the bedroom soon too.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -
Sorry to be a pest but do any of you nice people know of a healthy, low fat recipe I can use a marrow for?
I have never had marrow before in my life so have no idea what it tastes like - in fact I don't even know what it looks like under the green skin.
My friend gave me one that she had grown in her garden and I would feel really guilty not using it.
I tried googling for recipes but all I seemed to get were deep fried recipes or stuffing it but to be honest my lot don't eat vegetables at all and I think I may end up eating it myself so don't think I could cope with a whole stuffed marrow in one sitting.
Hi Anic - I don't have any recipes as I'm not very keen on marrow. It's a very bland vegetable, which is probably the reason it gets stuffed or fried, just to make it interesting enough to eat! You could try cutting it into cubes and roasting it with squash - sprinkle over some cajun spices to jazz it up a bit.

.. I found myself in the same situation - an ex-boss brought me one in from his allotment this year. I was amazed how little flesh there is on it after you've got rid of the skin and the seed-laden inner portion. That said, it did have its uses, bulked up a couple of slow-cooker dishes nicely so you get a value for money curry/stew/casserole/whatever.0
