    I love this thread!!!:rotfl:

Emmalis, I can't believe she did that!! I'm 'taking away' my MiL's only son, only child, partner replacement (despite having had a partner for the past 11 years!) and 'No1 Darling' - yes, that's what she calls him!!!! I am SUCH a bad girl... :D After threatening to cancel her family Christmas if he didn't come (no emotional blackmail then!) she's now going to wear black all Christmas apparently...

I'm present shopping! It's fun, but too many things I'd like to buy...

Anyone started their christmas shopping yet
I can't afford to start mine yet cos other half had rubbish wages this month. I have bought a few bits for my daughter for her stocking. I love christmas shopping but always want to keep what i've bought for myself so have to hide them away or wrap them straight away. Always search the house to see what other half has bought for me though so if its awful I can prepare the "its lovely but not really what I wanted" speach. I'm really naughty. He knows I do it now so gives my mum or sister the money to do it for him & they keep it till xmas day so I can't find it.

I'm now starting to write my xmas list for my mum, nanny & auntie (I know 28 years old with my own daughter & I still have to write a xmas list for my mum!!!!) At least i get something i want. What do I want this year. hmmm.... Richard Hammond I think wearing just a red bow mmmmm!!!
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

yes xmas started and finished:D ,all the family done and teachers, helpers, kids friends etc, the cards have not been writen out yet but they are all there ready to go, we made xmas crackers the other night, got all the food that keeps, the decorations, cakes everything, just need the turkey and veg closer to the time, that is the only way I can afford it, little and often I buy, put away.
I love it also but hate the expense the worry, the stress and more so my teenage son whose list amounts to £500 so far and that is for only three things:rotfl: :rotfl: the other one wants a gold fish so it is not equal there:D x box 360 premium, mobile and clothes for one and a fish for the other:rotfl: :rotfl:

I've just finished my swap box shopping and it's cost me much more that the original £7.50 budget. We've just got a parking ticket! £60! Apparently we weren't parked close enough to the kerb and not within the box! Imagine !

OH is FUMING. I just laughed it off (what else can you do except for pay it!).

As for posting - It's going to have to be by regular mail.

And Christmas shopping isn't too bad. My OH's work runs a savings scheme where you sign up to get a certain amount of money taken out of your salary every month. It's put into a separate bank account and the intrest is paid to charity. It's great as the money is taken out before you get your salary, you don't really notice it missing. It gets paid to my OH 4 weeks before christmas which leaves us plenty of time to get our stuff in.

Came home to a freeby bar of galaxy chocky posted through the door:mad:  !! I’d eaten half of it before you could say “ I’m definitely going to lose a lb this week”. Some gremlin out there has it in for me… (think Sainsbury and the caramel shortbread debacle)
Still I did resist the comfort food last night…:A

Petrichor:I never thought of that, does it work? Don't you see a 'flat mark'? Oh what the heck, sounds good to me
Yes I think one does get a slight mark, but this is offset by not having to S.E.W. :rotfl: My mother thought life was too short to teach me to sew or cook and I was better off outside climbing trees. Have taught myself to cook but never overcame the mysteries of sewing, other than a brief dalliance with cross stitch which several years of extreme disability reduced me to for entertainment.;)

Grannynise:use the IRON ON stuff? but that involves getting out, plugging in and USING the horrid burny thing. I find double sided sticky tape works really well. If you just press it down extremely hard it lasts through several washes. generally by then some one else has noticed the problem of the droopy hem and offered to do it for you, I find. People like taking pity on hopeless sewers and it gives them a chance to demonstrate their own skills, a win-win situation!

D’oh: never thought of this! Honestly, you’ll be telling me they’ve invented the wheel next. Spent last summer slouching in trousers way to long and didn’t get any offers. I clearly don’t mix in the right circles.

You bad bad girl bails. So naughty of you to steal mummy’s baby. Can’t believe that level of emotional blackmail: no wonder it was making you feel ill last night! Hope you and OH can stay a united front on this one.
So, MiL successfully auditioned for a leading role at Hogwarts last night and I've been avoiding the Avada Kedavra curses ever since!!
I imagine the successful audition was for the part of a dementor (and you know chocolate is the only remedy there:rotfl: )
    Talk about “issues” Yikes!

Emmalis, I can't believe yours did that to you either!!
Yes I have started xmas shopping. I try to spread out the cost and cut out stress by having it done and dusted early.

You must be feeling better Delly to be able to laugh off the parking fine! Thanks for the UTube link :T :D
