victory - that made me laugh. I remember when mum got a "granny trolley" for the shopping and we were too embarrassed to go with her
She was shopping for a family of 6 and couldn't drive so it made sense - although at the time we couldn't understand it! Then when we moved further away she walked there and got a taxi home out of the shopping budgetNow she shops online

...Sounds like the voice of experience Suggs!:rotfl: :rotfl: Oooh look here she is
:rotfl: :rotfl: ...
To be honest Pet, I always got on with my ex-MiL even after the divorce, still referred to as the son even now. I did pop round every now and then to say hello. It was the ex and my mum that didn't get on. MrsSuggs mum and I get on ok, I was pre-warned before we met as she can be acidic with the comments, sure enough a little dig at MrsSuggs about not getting an invite to her birthday party, Quick reponse from me, 'Family dont need inviting' all sorted and we now get on, although purely from a distance point of view, she wishes she knew me betterProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

My mother in law wouldn't even let me in the house if she was in for 3 years before me & OH got married. Think she was threatened by me as I was taking her youngest of 5 boys away from her. 3 weeks before the wedding though she came around to the idea & started talking to me. Now I'm her favourite DIL & go round every friday night for tea so she gets to see her grandaughter. She freely admits to being a witch though. I'll have to ask tonight how the formation flying practice is going for halloween! She says she normally manages to make a few chimneys wobble & that her broomstick is better than Harry Potter Firebolt she says she has a dyson 2007!!!Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

Petrichor...needle and thread? Aren't needles those pointy things that hurt? Afraid I use that iron on stuff to turn my trousers up.. The things mums do for grown up daughters: that's true love :rotfl: .
BB ... you use the IRON ON stuff? but that involves getting out, plugging in and USING the horrid burny thing. I find double sided sticky tape works really well. If you just press it down extremely hard it lasts through several washes. generally by then some one else has noticed the problem of the droopy hem and offered to do it for you, I find. People like taking pity on hopeless sewers and it gives them a chance to demonstrate their own skills, a win-win situation!0 -
:rotfl: grannynise I'm so glad I'm not the only one who uses sticky tape to tape up the hem on their trousers...... I've been known to use the stapler too in moments of desperation!:o
As for MiL's - It never crossed my mind to stick mine in a swap box. - Hmm, that's a really interesting thought:D as if I would!:AGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
