I'm feeling very thin at the moment, no, I'm not on a diet. I'm just stretched. Hubby has had no work this week, the day he should have done was cancelled, he is now on the downward slope to depression, this often happens & all I can do is support him emotionally & financially until things start looking up. The other problem is the lodger who is proving very needy, not her fault, she's arrived in a strange country with no support. The staff member who is meant to be mentoring her, just won't bother, I'm trying to encourage her to join in with the social side of school life, but it's an uphill struggle. I just feel worn out with all the demands on me, I arrive home from work already tired, don't sleep well due to hot flushes & tendonitis. All I want to do is crawl into a corner, instead of which I have to cook a variety of meals & sort out banks, doctors, bus & train timetables. I'm also missing some me time on the sewing machine.
Oh well, moan over, onwards & upwards.
    Hugs to all
    Hester

    You're not Anthea Turner -- are you:eek:

Went to Leeds with DD(21) to buy a few bits and bobs for dd(18) before she starts uni at the weekend.

Got what we wanted for dd and had lunch at Nando's then went looking for some stuff for me.

I now have two nice jumpers and two pairs of trousers for winter (Primark for jumpers ) and trousers are joggers that will be ok for everyday (2 for £12) so grabbed them before I changed my mind.

Washing was on the line before we left and had sausage sandwiches for tea.

Have been back for two hours and my feet still hurt!

    Hugs to everyone.

    evening all,

Welcome princesstippytoes, you will love it here x

Hester, sorry to hear you are feeling down, hugs, will a glass of wine help ? x

Shopping was delivered today, they phoned before it came to say it would be late as it was still being packed, but when it came got £10 off voucher. It made no difference to me as I am in all night anyway. :j

OH off on his second driving lesson at the moment, so a bit of peace and quiet here. :D
    Hugs to all

Just grabbing bit of time on the computer while dd is watching eastenders :) Challenging day at w*rk - lots of dodgy geezers in the bail court. I got my favourite judge to clerk though - he is very dishy and rides a motorbike. We had a chat this morning and I said something very witty and sophisticated like - oh hee hee hee blush blush. I think I need a boyfriend :)
Picked up four travel games from mrT for stockings - £3.00 BOGOF. They also had half price wicker baskets for anyone that's doing hampers - 2 for £3.98

Tea tonight is soya bolognaise from the freezer with spuds and carrots from the veg box - and a yellow stickered double choc mufifn - yum

big hugs to those who need them :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Hi and welcome to Princesstippytoes.

Hope you enjoy joing in here with everyone.

Disaster this morning I was really relaxed, just delivered cup of tea to OH in bed( the joys of being recently retired!!! ) Anyway the phone went and I cheerily answered it to find that I should have been at work this morning not this afternoon as I had thought. Well mad panic ensued but all was well and I came home to a beautiful clean house AND windows!!!!

Lots of apple peeling this afternoon. Lots more blackberry and apple ready for the freezer.

We are on a storecupboard and freezer challenge at the moment and all good so far. OH realises how good it will be to not run 3 freezers and have full cupboards. But as soon as I start making home made soups etc they seem to spawn and there is always loads extra to go in the freezer.

    Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Off to work all day tomorrow so at least I cant make a mistake about the time!!!
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Thanks for the hugs and kind words. The lodger decided to go into town as it's late night shopping, no doubt I'll get a phone call soon to go & get her as I can't imagine she'll manage to get home unaided, lol.

    Welcome to princesstippytoes.

One of my workmates was wearing her magnetic knickers again today, we always knoe when she's wearing them, she walks round with something metallic attached to the front of her skirt, last time it was a teaspoon, today it was a keyring!
Still it makes us laugh & it makes me feel better, she's 4 yeas younger than me, but so often on a different planet, that everyone thinks she's due for retirement.
