2011 vauxhall astra j 1.7cdti in november 2015 for £3,000 private seller
worth about £2,700 got 141,000 miles on clock“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

2016 SEAT Ibiza FR, bought new in April. I love it - top of the range (bar the sportier Cupra model) so has lots of toys Inc satnav etc. Only thing I would have liked is heated seats but I'm not that fussed. It's essentially an Audi/VW with a different skin - except several thousand pounds cheaper and (IMHO) better looks and interior. Only issue is it doesn't have as much snob factor.0

It's threads like this that make me weep(About leaving the UK for sunnier climes) , 2011 Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 , grey import bought 2014 £ 7750 , that's about entry level here for anything decent, great little car though.0

1982 BMW 528i Bought new and collected from the factory on the 20th June 1982. The fastest 4 door 5 seat saloon in the world bar none in 1982. It was my first BMW which I've hung on to - but now is sorely needing the bodywork smartened up.
1998 LHD Mercedes Benz Sprinter. Bought new in the UK specifically for long European journeys - climate control, cabin night-heater, fully carpeted and insulated roof-lining, alloy wheels, LSD, sliding doors with windows on both sides, double seat in the rear, plus lots more. Although it has beds and storage cupboards it is NOT a camper van. As Mrs Iceweasel and I have grown older the van is used less as we now tend to prefer small hotels & B&Bs on our Euro trips.
2015 BMW 330D F30 M-Sport. Bought new for long-distance European road trips. 4 optional packages and 10 additional optional extras. This thing is both fast and comfortable.
I buy new vehicles and keep them until they die. I have no interest in what the depreciation is at all.
Likewise no interest in any 'snob value' or other peoples perceived ideas of those brands.
I buy what I like and enjoy them.
I have no interest in the age or mileage of my vehicles - if they still work - I keep 'em.0 -
A 2013 Nissan 370Z Nismo but currently driving a 2005 Volvo S60 2.0T. The Nissan absolutely destroys most cars on the road, the handling is surreal and that POWER...on tap at any speed and rev...astonishingly fast even from 80mph to its limit of 155mph.
The Volvo on the other hand is a relaxing and comfortable cruiser.
Whilst I'm not saying you don't own one of the 30 370Z Nismos registered in 2013, your description reads very much like someone who's never driven one.0 -
A 2002 ford focus in compulsory silver. Inherited from my father in law about 6 years ago and hope to keep it a long time yet. [that's if I don't lose it in a car park first]0

No I don't own any of the above, just wishful thinking! If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

+1
Having owned a 370z gt prior to the a45, it's a quick enough car granted, but it's not a tap the pedal and POWER! type of drive.
The handling is decent but is as to be expected by a nose heavy RWD car.
Don't get me wrong - they're a great car and I loved ours, but that "review" reads like a description by someone who has been at some point a passenher in one at best, not having lived with one month in month out.0
