What car do you have and whats it like?
Just for fun really and interesting to hear other experiences...
Me: 2010 1.7 Vauxhall Astra ecoflex 110 bhp.
Diesel, drives comfortably on the motorway, pretty good fuel consumption. Awful around town, noisy and rattly. No parking sensors and quite difficult to park due to obscured rear view. Front pillar obstructs view a bit at motorways too.
Bought early last year for 6750, 20 months and 30k miles later and trading in for 4K less so has cost me £200 a month in depreciation so just signed up to PCP on a new car for not much more than that a month. Starting to wonder with the amount of driving I do if second hand cars are false economy.

I hate to say this, but you paid too much and sold it for too little.
My Vectra was about £25 a month in depreciation, from £3000 at 4 years old, to £600 at 12 years old.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Second hand cars can be very expensive / or great value, but only if you know what to look for and buy at the right price."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Saab 1.9 diesel, two turbos and a bit of performance tweeking (215bhp) so it really goes. mid 40's mpg, full leather and nice to drive. Bought new for £16,500 when Saab went bust, had it since 2009 and its probably only worth about £4500 now, so depreciation is about £140 per month. Never had a problem with it other than flat battery when left standing over winter. Great car.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Bought an Audi 80 around 3 years ago, paid £550, sold it back to the guy I bought it from for £350 18 months later.
£11.11 depreciation.

Agree got stung on my Astra. The rattle is very bad now though so I'd struggle to sell privately. Was too costly to repair so had to take what I could.
I get a car allowance that nets me about £300 month plus mileage paid so could be worse!!0 -
Current car's a 2006 Chrysler GV.
Paid £3990 in January, seller carried out a full service and timing belt change before I picked it up. Second GV, ones I looked at before I bought it were more expensive and not as good.
I'll keep it till it dies.
Others over the past 6 years (2 cars, so some overlapping)?
Free Corsa, ran for 18 months and sold for £100
Passat, bought for £450, sold for £250 a couple of years later.
Mitsubishi Challenger, paid £1000, sold 6 months later for £1000.
Passat number 2, bought for £780, sold for £250 a year later.
Kia Cee'd, bought for £1700, insurance paid out over £2000.
Merc 250, ran for just over a year, bought for £550, scrapped for £2400 -
2016 BMW i3 Rex
Lounge Interior (Marmite some love it some hate it Very 60s Concept)
Pro Nav 11" Widescreen
Auto Self Park with Cameras
Radar Cruise with Autodrive below 27mph in traffic jams
Lots of other bits and bobs
100 Miles Electric Range with Petrol Generator backup.
My first electric car and an eyeopener to a new world of motoring
Bought it as a 3 month old Main Dealer Demo with 2k on the Clock
OTR Price £41.5k Paid £21.5k
First let me say did not buy it save save a polar bear etc.. I bought it because I am a skinflint and with the miles I do and the car allowance I get it worked out to be a great way to save on my fuel expenses (60p to charge it up on Economy 7 to do 100 miles), and free charges while I am out and about at work.
Its brought my average monthly fuel spend in Diesel of £270 down to an extra £20 on my electric bill.
I have lost count of the cars I have had in 30 years on the road, but getting in the i3 makes me feel like the 70s kid (I am) who saw the future of motoring as all space age, everything till this point disappointed... But finally I have that future car that the 1970s promised me. (But damn it still does not fly!) Apart from away from the traffic lights.. :rotfl:Over 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,0 -
VW High Up!

A 2013 Nissan 370Z Nismo but currently driving a 2005 Volvo S60 2.0T. The Nissan absolutely destroys most cars on the road, the handling is surreal and that POWER...on tap at any speed and rev...astonishingly fast even from 80mph to its limit of 155mph.
The Volvo on the other hand is a relaxing and comfortable cruiser.0 -

Custard test for both motors.
You've posted this crap more than once and have never owned any of the cars.0
