Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19/09/07 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
I usually read through if I don't post on it very often so I thought I'd start it this morning. DS does his first half day at school today so I'm hoping to be able to get stuck in with my jobs off the Flylady thread before pigpen sacks me! Work tonight so probably a pretty boring day!
Hugs to anyone who needs them and hi to everyone else.

Seems you beat me to it by one minute... typical.
Anyway off to work soon. Nothing special on today.
I looked for a TV yesterday, but figured they would be vewry expensive. Seems to get a decent lcd TV now costs about £600. The old tube TV's were a lot less and better in some ways. BUT I was rummaging through my papers and found the receipt with 3 yr guarantee. It still has 2 months to go.... So I can get it repaired or replaced for freee:j . It seems as though that may take weeks though, but it will have to do as I can't shell out for a new TV now just before a major holiday.
I did ask on freecycle and have a small one offered to me, so that will do for now.
Need a coffee, cheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Decisions, decisions, where will I post.
Goodmorning everyone,
Tackled the cupboard & unpacking more boxes today. Found more photo albums. So had to sit on the floor browsing at the children when they were little. Where have all the years gone.I also got a phone call from a girlfriend so talked to her for quite a while. The day has just slipped by. I did find my knitting needles as I'm going to get some dishcloth cotton and make a few for gifts. I've never made them before but thought they'd go ok with HM soap.
They'll all think I'm being extra super tight this year. :rotfl:Nobody really appreciates my HM gifts.
Amie Hope you've recovered from your fall yesterday.
N9eav Good find with the receipt. It usually happens when it's just out of warranty.
Hope you all have a great day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning Juliejim and N9eav and all who follow.
My mountain of washing is washed and dried and has turned into another mountain that needs ironing so that will be today's main job. I also want to go to the gym - it's been two weeks since I last went so I don't expect it to be easy! I'm looking forward to it, though.
Dinner tonight will be what Jamie Oliver did with chicken, tomatoes and potatoes last night - looks easy and delicious. AMIE and HARIBO - hope you are both feeling better today. I'm off to read the rest of yesterday's thread before I have my shower so will call in later. Have a great day, everyone.

Morning everyone
Woke up early today must be my guilty conscience of having quite a bit to get done. Not that I've done anything so far other than look at whatever rubbish is on TV early and log on here:o
Same decision as you AG where do I post, but decided on the earliest.;) I am sure the powers that be will put them together at some point. I know what you mean about photo albums, they are irresistable - until you see yourself and wonder what happened! I've managed to scan quite a lot onto the PC and have the screensaver running from My Pictures, often find DH sat watching the screen saver (only use he has for the PC I think!)
Hi Amie glad you are feeling a bit better after your fall, at least you put your early mornings to some use, my excuse is DH is such a light sleeper I would wake him:D.
Well done on finding the receipt n9eav.
Nothing much to add, me the ironing (and a trip to Asda I think as we forgot cereals:mad: ) DH will blitz me conservatory. bathroom and our bedroom (once I have clear it completely - no its not bad) and catlick the lounge then we are done.
Birthday/Anniversary congratulations where appropriate.
(((hugs))) to those hurting, waiting, watching, or would just like one.
Take care

Morning all
Lets hope it's a better day at work today, I'm taking a thermometer ti work with me to chech room temps.
I open the repro dept at 7:30 for all the staff who haven't planned their lessons in advance & for those who are doing cover. It's the busiest part of the day & often cold as there is no radiator in my room & one wall is single glazed glass window & door. I have a wall heater that doesn't work as the electrics for it have been removed. Last year the bolt & lock on the outside door both failed & there is no money in the budget to replace them. The door now sags open & lets the rain & wind in. I did try fastening it shut with an elastic band, but they break everytime it gets windy.
So from now on, the copier room will open when the temp reaches 16c, the legal minimum. which in the winter will be about 10ish, lol.
I know the Bursar is trying to do away with my job, she would prefer the staff to do their own copying & save herself £12k a year, I can forsee a fun winter ahead.
Hug to those in need
Hester

Morning
Wasn't sure which thread to post on, but I'm sure some clever person will merge them
Made curry last night with home made naan b read - they were OK, but a bit like frizbees :rotfl: Oh well, practice makes perfect
Work today, so cheating with Asda lasagne for dinner, might even be really naughty and call for chips to go with it
Heavenleigh hope you are OK, I haven't seen you post anything and know you were awaiting results ((( hugs )))
Hope everyone has a good day xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
