... bought all Christmas presents! I have now wrapped and labelled them all.

It's not just that you bought them, you wrapped and labelled them! *impressed*
Christmas can now officially be thought about now that DD2 has had her birthday. The thought of it however, is entirely stressing me out.

Please don't get stressed BM. It's supposed to be enjoyable not a nightmare. What I've realised over the years is that I always tried to do far too much, got stressed, and as a result didn't enjoy it. The older I get the less I do and it's a much better time of year as a result.

    (((Hugs))) Doobop.

Kittens, Dizzy, because you need something more to deal with, don't you?

Frantically busy morning, but all of the pre-winter garden heavy cutting back and digging that needed to be done has been done by a young lad who's just starting his own business. Good-oh. I raked the leaves and planted the last of the bulbs so when he lets us have the bark chips to go round the fruit trees that'll be all the heavy work done here as far as I'm concerned. He's going to scarify the grass next week so whatever needs to happen after that he can help with or do by himself. He's also going to deal with the garden nightmares over at the chalet tomorrow which have needed doing ever since we bought it, so hurrah, at long last.

A friend delivered some fish and had coffee, the lodger paid their rent and needed a receipt and OH finished sorting out the car insurance. I've now got paperwork strewn all over the sitting room floor so that I can get to grips with it because I haven't been for the last five months. Ooops.

Then American family photographs. It's now a fully fledged frog.
    Better is good enough.

Biscuit Monster I get stressed too at the thought of Christmas as got 3 birthdays beforehand so got to get everything for them and Christmas plus J has been unemployed for 6 months now so no real money. I'm working as hard and not turning work down but am trying to keep evenings and weekends free otherwise my RSI plays up.

Dizzy how lovely to have kittens! I'd love to see pictures too please!

LW how was the film? I love going to the cinema.

Bossy are these guinea pigs new additions as I don't remember you mentioning them before. We had 2 before we got Pip, our Jack Russell; lovely little girls called Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy (the kids named them!)

Failed miserably at cleaning again. Going to take a while to get me back in the cleaning habit I think. Only had 1 job in but walked Whiz with my friend and her 2 dogs then she came in for a coffee, we nattered and J joined in and then it was lunchtime! This pm been working and packing up more yarn I've sold. Maybe later.

  • Good afternoon lovelies,

I am in, thank you so much for the lists. I have done absolutely tons of housework today and the place looks much better for it. Also munched a frog, hoping to get rid of all frogs by the end of the year.

Big big hugs to you all, we are forecast snow tomorrow :eek:x

They moved in a week ago ;) I love those names though - fab! Boy piggie has been a grot this afternoon to girl piggie. Although she tried to hump him twice :rotfl: I'd be cross with her too, lol. He's a quiet one usually but he really gave her a telling off tonight, wheeking and chattering his teeth at her. I think they be in separate "bedrooms" tonight, lol.

Den is much clearer now, and I have a plan for the conservatory, and have ordered supplies. Kitchen has been sorted after a simple dinner, and I'm just having a brew while the kiddies play trains. Bin is out and I've flung some bits I've deliberated over for too long.

When the kids are in bed I'll just give the pen a quick sweep then that will be it for today. College tomorrow so won't be around much...

Hope you all have a lovely evening xx

  • Dizzy, you should see my downstairs. Haha, under the cupboard is the only tidy place!

Doobop, we all make mistakes sometimes. Own it, apologise and move forward. It's all you can do. If you beat yourself up over it you'll end up making more mistakes because you're so busy being annoyed with yourself (I speak from experience). Thanks for the well done.

I did a tip trip today, also shifted bag of clothes and 3 pairs for shoes. Will try to go through the other bags tonight and shift those and the stuff for my parents will be going tomorrow after work so the hall should be back to normal soon, although I do need to get rid of a box of charity stuff I might wait until I've listed everything for sale and add anything that doesn't go so that it doesn't go back in the cupboard.

No flying for me today, other than getting stuff out of the house. Fingers crossed normal service will resume soon! I'm only at work until 11am so lots of time to straighten things out.

Ooh kitties dizzy! I would love a cat or two, bit we can't at the moment. One day!

I've done some stuff for Christmas, spoke to mum, who said dad had an idea about them going away for Christmas, she'd said they couldn't, but I told her we'd be fine if they did want to. She's not confident her arm will be 100% though so she definitely doesn't want to go. Because Christmas is Sunday this year I said I'll come Friday after work and Saturday to do all the food prep, again because her wrist is going to take a long time to get better. Working at a church I can't take the run up to Christmas off, it's too busy, but Saturday is my day off anyway so it's fine. The gifts I have so far are in two places, so I'll be putting them together in the (now safe) cupboard under the stairs. I've tried to be good and not go crazy. It is only me and the DS and so I try to be careful to not spoil him. He's hit the Lego years and loves books so he's easy enough. Annoyingly my brother always gets him something incredibly noisy. One day he'll have kids and I will havey revenge!

Natty and Valli - thanks for the threads

kazwookie, I knew you wouldn't be one of the midnight on Christmas eve crew! Every year I swear I wont leave it as late. I have at least bought enough (RTC) wrapping paper this year.
Dizzy Kittens?!? Now that is my kind of shopping.

Week two of being at home, last week was switch off work head and walk a lot till I de-stressed a bit. This week is focus on the house, before gradually picking up the new project work.

I'm dot to dotting and trying to reduce volumes as I go so I have focused on the extras

Freezer tidied and a list done. Need to plan how to use it all
Work clothes and summer clothes bagged and put away
Kitchen window ledge of doom cleared (including the random half brick someone had left on it)
Several paper piles and hot spots cleared. Some shredded, some binned and others ready to go into the box files.

    Thanks Honey bear and Fran.
    You guys really are nice.
Owned it, apologised and ready to do what I can - still waiting for the reaction though as I had to email and the person hasn't been in their emails. Bit calmer though. Told a trusted colleague who can advise.
Flying - not at all today. cooked and ate tea, that's it.

Oh heck, I'm typing a report and keeping half an eye on the US electoral results. I'm not usually political but I'm going to keep flicking back to the BBC news page now.........apologies for non-flying comment.
