Today I have cleaned up after an unwell child.
*admiration* It's horrible doing it, and thank goodness there are those who do. And yes, if you're eight there are a lot of 'weedle' words that are hysterically funny, but most adults don't appear to know that, which is strange, isn't it?
*please pay our invoice vibes* heading your way, ATB. Most businesses that fail do so not because they're unviable but because of cash flow problems. Late payers are a big cause of that, so I totally understand your frustration.
(((Hugs))) Bossy. Your DS made the right decision, but it's hard making new friends. In later life being able to adapt to being in a new bunch will stand him in very good stead but at his age it's quite frightening. I say this as someone who was bounced in and out of towns, countries and new schools every couple of terms throughout primary stage - it got easier the more it happened but at five, six and seven etc it was horribly frightening until I established friendships each time.
I've cleaned the microwave and tidied up the kitchen of superficial gibble again. It's never-ending. I'm going to make myself deal with the Froggie photographs first (why didn't I think of that *duh* sooner) so as to just get it done. It's not hard, it's just tricky and complicated.
I hope everyone has a straightforward, good news, kind day.Better is good enough.0 -

Need to get fleece up behind door curtain... or maybe I should put it up in the utility room. Although it would get filthy there. Might duct tape the ancient catflap as I think that's where the draughts come in (and I don't have a cat).
Opened the upstairs windows to let in fresh air and then a neighbour started to empty their septic tank. So now I need to leave them open until the smell clears!
All plants watered. Another pile of paperwork migrated to the office to sort/file/shred. Where does it all come from?0 -
Tidied up the kitchen and swept up. I've done the first jolly jar for school, written birthday card for grandma but I need to post it. Tidied hallway, just got a bag of toys to sort and vacuum there. Off to work now and I'll do today's flying after work/lunch.0

Morning all.
DH went to the stroke clinic yesterday and has been told not to drive until more tests completed and to phone the DVLA - he is not a happy bunny
Yesterday's hectic plans became less hectic when I went to collect friend's DD from the child minder to take her to orchestra, only to be told "She's left her violin at school so can't go". Left her at the childminder's with her sister for dad to pick them both up, and concentrated on getting DH to his BSL course and myself to safeguarding training in good time, picking up another friend on the way instead of only being able to give her a lift home afterwards - so she was happy.
Today I have already
- emailed my DC about our post-Christmas get-together
- gleaned ideas from DH for his Christmas/birthday wish list
- S&S'd kitchen and bathroom
- made an appointment to declutter most of my eyebrows
- started WM x1 of 4
- pinned up a skirt to the right length
- checked finances (money spent yesterday on "cheap" flights to Germany next May: not so cheap by the time we'd added in reserved seats, a suitcase in the hold and car parking for 5 days  but heigh-ho, it's done and I count myself fortunate to have enough to cover it from my debit card, so no card fees paid :money:)
- made :coffee:
Still to be done:
- persuade DH to phone DVLA
- send 2 more emails and a FB message
- make another phonecall
- sew the skirt and press it
- more WM loads
- do some serious work on my essay - time is getting short
- put in the froggy Gift Aid claim - I've given up waiting for the final GA declaration, and will add those donations to the next claim
- relax with The Apprentice
Invoice paying vibes to ATB's customer.
No-sickness vibes to Valli's class.
Enjoy your new sofa, Bossy!
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -
Thank you for all your lovely wishes, you really are stars. DH is burying his head in the sand as per, he drives me mad and somehow we end up arguing even though its not my blinkin' fault the company hasn't paid! Anyone else have a hubby who really doesn't take stress well?!
Bossy - sounds like Master Moo made the right decision first time round and is learning a life lesson in this. Stick to your guns lovely. Pics of sofa please! Do you have time next week for that overdue cuppa? x
Iona - There really are no such things as cheap flights nowadays are there?! We aren't holidaying abroad next year for that exact reason x
So far today I have argued with DHdone the school and pre-school run, 2x WM, cleaned the fire, cooked a chilli for dinner, done some admin online, mopped the hall floor and slung the vacuum around. Cuppa time xx

Today I have cleaned up after an unwell child.
ATB sending you a virtual crowbar, with which to pry money out of reluctant payer's pocket. I used to work in Credit Control, before I was in the Civil Service, and getting money out of some folks is worse than getting blood out of a stone. I know it's not the pleasantest thing asking people to cough up, but I'm afraid your DH needs to put his big boy pants on, and ask for payment of money that is rightfully his.I'm cross this morning - about something and nothing. DS wants to change football teams. He can't, and that should be the end of it. He's signed to a team, which precludes him from playing for any other this season. We talked about this when he joined, did he want to go with his (rather bossy) best friend and not get a look in (doesn't share, keeps the ball to himself, they get very silly together) or did he want to go meet a new group of friends, possibly feel shy at first, but basically start afresh. He chose the latter.
I've told him if he ditches his team now, I won't be taking him to another and there will be no alternative activities. He's got the kit and everything.
[/rant]
I need to start working on a birthday card for Mr LW - I have less than a month to come up with something apposite. Ideas on a postcard please..... :rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello Everyone!
Its been a good few years since I have been on here! Good to see some old faces & some newbies, I have had not such a good year this year & my house is starting to reflect this. I have no motivation whatsoever to clean/declutter/tidy/iron, so I am hoping by joining you lovely ladies again that this will give me the swift kick up the bahookie that I need, I am going to see what I can do from this weeks lists without overdoing it & ease myself back in gently. I do miss the old days of doing an HHC where I could get an amazing amount done & it did not feel like doing housework. That would probably take me around 2-3 hours now. I hope you are all well & look forward to catching up with you all x:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
Long Term Flylady0 -
ATB, if they had paid before your hubby did the job would he have left it this length of time before doing the job. He gave them a service and they have to pay. No need to feel you have to be aggressive or a pushover. A firm reminder is fine to send, sometimes people are grateful for a reminder!
Iona, good luck with convincing your hubby to make that call. Loved the term decluttering eyebrows! Haha.
Hi macpec. Good luck. I'm sure you will get on top of everything again.
Now I can see my hallway again I can see how marked it is. It's still got the basic emulsion on from when it was built and that marks so easily. Now to pick a colour! I'd picked out the colours for the bathroom i can't paint yet. Off to dig out the dulux chart!0 -
I didn't get any flying done yesterday thanks to being unwell but I did cross a few things off my to do list so not a complete waste of a day! Long day at work today but one or two things done off the list already, hope to cross a few more off later. Still deleting tasks that have been done but this list keeps getting longer anyway doesn't it
Sorry for the extra long post!
Hope everyone's well, positive vibes for everyone who needs them!!
