Came across this on Amazon which might be useful to those wanting cheap broadband till June 2024 (signal dependant)
https://amzn.eu/d/9CQH6Nw
Runs on EE and you would need a mifi router or something that can hotspot0 -
I signed up via Mobiles.co.uk to Vodafone sim only 100Gb, ultd min & text for £15/month and £120 cash back. Not a fan of cash back claim offers but figured the £15 was reasonable if I forgot.
Received a text the following day saying they needed more info'. Three days of calling, met each time by 'we are busy, call back', so I called into Currys their parent company. They gave an alternative number who told me order had been cancelled but did not know why. They put me through to correct dept' - recorded message 'we are busy, call back' !
I then contacted live chat, all they could do was give me the same number I had been calling 😣
I created an account and logged in. It said there was a problem with my contact number.
The number they had messaged me on !
At this point I gave up and went elsewhere. I wonder if this is customer service BEFORE they have my money, what will it be like when they do ? 🙄0 -
Any ideas what the best 5G SIM only deal is that includes the following:
I'm currently on a rolling EE SIM only deal at about £19/month which includes the following:
Unlimited mins & texts
100GB Data
I have my wife's SIM on my account too, which is £11/month for:
Unlimited mins & texts
10GB Data
I've just purchased the iPhone 14 Pro Max and will be getting my wife an iPhone 13, so we'll both have 5G capabilities that our existing plans don't include. I would be looking for at least 1 of the plans to have the following:
Uncapped fastest 5G speeds
100GB Data or more
Data sharing amongst family members
Wi-Fi Calling
Ideally, I don't want to go with an MVNO as I've had terrible experiences with them in the past. So, I'd rather look at EE/BT, O2/Virgin Media or Vodafone. I won't go 3 again, their network is utterly broken in London! 🤦♂️
Any ideas on what options I have?

There are lots of offers around but they do change regularly. Try comparison and cashback sites.
You should have no trouble finding a deal better than what you currently have.
As an update to my problem with mobiles.co.uk, they have been in touch to try and right their wrong.
Alas I have now gone elsewhere.0 -
clive_p said:I've been looking at the cheap sim-only deals listings and see some, e.g. from Lebara which cost only 1p/month for the first six months then £5-90/month after that. I don't understand what is to stop you using a Lebara SIM for up to six months (costing 6p total) then switching to another deal after that? There must be some catch but I can't see what it is.0

I am on the Lebara £4.99 unltd mins & texts with 2Gb Data which has been fine for me. I have to say signal quality has been much better than when I was on EE.0

Before joining Lebara from EE I tried a cheap 30 day sim from other networks to check signal where I use most.
Lebara is on Vodafone and I also tried O2. No point signing up for a contract if you can't use.0 -
