I've read through most recent posts on this and it seems there are different opinions.
One Lebara 6mth SIM only promo is about to end and I'd like to take out another.
Do I need to create a new Lebara account or can I just order another SIM deal and port my number? Given the uncertainty in posts made, this seems the best option.
Thanks.0 -
One way to find out. However if you mean the mse blagged offer you need to give lebara a new email address and will need to create a new account unless I am very much mistaken. And if you want to keep the number you will need to port it away from lebara before you can port it to your new sim deal.1

But it doesn't make sense to me to pay even £5 a month to have a number when I won't be using it to make calls/texts.
I am sure there are other people who are in this position and I am hoping someone on this forum has 1-2 suggestions.1 -

So I need a UK SIM card which doesn't put demands on me to use for making outgoing calls or texts, and any credit doesn't expire. I may use the phone for an occasional call or text but its unlikely.
I've read that all or almost all the mobile providers and piggyback operators have some form of expiry or that they demand usage within a 3-9 month period, or you lose your credit and number.

Thanks.
I'll go with Lyca for 6 months and then return to Lebara using a new email address if necessary.
I have to say for anybody that's curious, I've found the service (network and customer) with Lebara to be excellent. Hopefully Lyca will be the same for the next 6 months.0 -

The question which was asked was;
"Do I need to create a new Lebara account or can I just order another SIM deal and port my number? Given the uncertainty in posts made, this seems the best option"
The reply posted suggests that there is no need to create a new lebara account;
"Port out to asda/lyca then port back in you should be able to use the new promo"
But the point of using a Gmail address with a rogue dot in it is that Gmail recognises it is the same email but lebara treats it as a new customer, so you DO need to create a new lebara account. If you try to add it to an existing account you won't qualify for the offer.0 -
Does anyone know what happened to Lyca Mobile's 1p SIM-only deal? It was supposed to end on 31/05/2023 but now it appears to have gone
there was also nothing to suggest this offer could disappear before the end date and the asterisk is just the usual confirmation that it was an MSE affiliate link.
Instead it's now been replacing by the same plan but for 49p/mth which ends on 30th June.
