  • Times must be hard at 3, as an existing customer I just renewed hassle free 3 days ago for a further 12 months "upgrading" onto their £8 for 8gb + unlimited "for new customers" advanced sim only plan, down from the £9 for 4gb + unlimited plan I had been on for the last 12 months and kept my current phone number.

The £8 for 8gb + unlimited advanced sim only plan is one of the MSE top choices but is only available for new customers. I only needed to say was that it was the plan I wanted for me to stay with 3, together with keeping my existing number!

Well done - I've always been quite successful negotiating with 3. Did you do this via online chat or phone as a matter of interest?

I have a mobile which is just kept in case of emergency.
I have just renewed it - as I wanted one with a camera.
I have been looking at 1p mobile

    Are they a reputable company?
Looking on their site, I have not come across any hidden charges.
Could I ask for your opinion please.
Sorry, I couldn't find where to make the text smaller.

Signed up for this quite recently. Liked the fact that it was only for 12 months too. Doesn't appear on 3's website so has to be done via uswitch if anyone's interested
    Common sense is not common

  • 2020....5 May...Martin is advertising an £8 a month Plusnet SIM card with 4GB, unlmtd calls and texts plus £25 MasterCard reward. Great. But just to mention Quidco are doing same deal and company but with 5GB for £8 a month and with £25 cash back 😁. 12 x 8 = £96 - £50 in cash and a credit card = £46/12 months = £3.83 a month!!

    12 month contract. Hurry hurry.

Just want to add that you cannot short code text with Plusnet which can be very inconvenient if you want to pay car parking fees etc. This is never mentioned by Plusnet.

Wow, that is a serious shortcoming.

1pMobile looks fine for what it is. It runs on EE so the network is good, although data speeds are capped. However, you have to top up every  few months to keep it live.

So if you're after a "just in case" account, maybe go for a 3 or GiffGaff pay as you go, with few £s credit and just keep it live by sending a text message within each six month period. GiffGaff are good at reminding you when you need to use the SIM.

I would say "THREE" all day - they offer free 5G and also personal hotspot free on every SIM !
I have been with THREE for at least 10 years and have never had any problems with them
They limit annual price increases to RPI as well
If you have ever tried to get in contact with (for example), Vodafone or Virgin mobile - and deal with a real person - THREE will be a revelation !

Thank you very much. I shall take a look at those you mentioned.
