  • Hello all, correction - I’ve discovered that I don’t get the £25 credit card because I’ve gone through Quidco, so that will make it £5.98 a month.

Hmm, Three look good. Hmm, maybe I should have paused before buying!!!

I would say "THREE" all day - they offer free 5G and also personal hotspot free on every SIM !
I have been with THREE for at least 10 years and have never had any problems with them
They limit annual price increases to RPI as well
If you have ever tried to get in contact with (for example), Vodafone or Virgin mobile - and deal with a real person - THREE will be a revelation !
Yes, Three easier to deal with than GiffGaff (which is all online) and they include 5G (although not widespread yet).

When did you order?  Have you already activated the SIM? There is probably a cooling off period. Or if you went for a monthly contract you can move on soon.
  • Hi All
Which is the best SIM only deal that provides WiFi calling, some of the no frills deals seem to be missing this ?
    Thanks

    Interesting question
Three - supposedly does - but I can't get it to work !
They used to have a utility called THREE IN TOUCH but no longer !
    Anyone have this working ?

  • Just checking you've ran through all the steps?
Go to three in touch part of three's website (just fill in the blanks It says I can't post links yet??)
It states it has to be a 3 branded phone (i.e. one of the usual phones but bought from them)
If you go to the support section of the latest three app on your phone there is a section for wifi calling with a short video explaining how to get it going.

Three is probably the cheapest - EE, O2 and Vodafone are "premium" brands, and the companies who use their networks don't seem to have WiFi calling, or VoLTE. I keep looking at other packages but Three seems my best option when I renew, particularly if I can get a 5G phone next time I buy a new handset.

I think vanilla unlocked iPhones will do WiFi calling on Three, but Androids vary.

Apparently - Three's "THREE IN TOUCH" App - only runs on Samsung Galaxy phones - but some Android phones have "wifi calling"  built in - so may work anyway
Not much help - I will have an on-line chat later with Three and get a definitive answer
Up until about 3 years ago - the app used to run on virtually any Android phone - I used to use it on Android 5 !

I have a mobile which is just kept in case of emergency.
I have just renewed it - as I wanted one with a camera.
I have been looking at 1p mobile

    Are they a reputable company?

Looking on their site, I have not come across any hidden charges.
Could I ask for your opinion please.
Sorry, I couldn't find where to make the text smaller.
The hidden charge with 1pMobile as an emergency/back-up phone is that it requires a £10 top-up every 120 days (£2.50 per month over a year), so not necessarily the cheapest option for this kind of usage. Another option is Asda mobile, have a look at Ken's Tech Tips website: https://kenstechtips.com/index.php/best-payg-sim-for-low-usage
