MSE should investigate or remove SMARTY from their best deals offer. They DO NOT OFFER ANY DATA SERVICE AT ALL.

I was with SMARTY for the last month and they are appalling. I received no data coverage at all from Northampton to Kettering and Northampton to Coventry. This includes being around the city centre and on Warwick University. The phone is a new Iphone X which had used a 3 Mobile Sim in it where it functioned perfectly well and had reasonable signal and data coverage. They sent me a new SIM which had the exact same issues. The Customer Services Team have pre-programmed responses where they clearly know the coverage is close to non-existant as they kept saying that a signal mast was down in the area. However speaking to their various colleagues on numerous occasions they said there were no masts down.

I should also point out that when the phone does say there is a 3G / 4G connection. It is more often 3G and also it still does no connect to the internet at all..

They are a poor company offering no real service, less than limited coverage and no customer service. MSE should not be affiliated in my opinion.

Is it down to SMARTY or to Three - their network provider.

I am with Three - and I can go for whole days without any data across central and outer London. If three have outages - so will SMARTY. So if MSE were to stop promoting SMARTY they would have to do the same for Three!

High data limits are no use if you can't get any data at all regularly..
  • I switched to SMARTY a couple of weeks ago - I was with them for a total of 3 days as I couldn't get a signal at all.

Ended up going back to giffgaff (02 network).

MSE should not be pushing SMARTY or Three as a "Top Pick" when their coverage is so poor.

Going to sign up to ID mobile soon:

2GB - current is 2GB and always just over 1GB
500 minutes - current is 200, never gone above 100.
    The usual unlimited texts
    £6 a month

    Was paying £9.22 with Three

    They could only offer me:
    £6 - 1GB, 600 minutes
    £7 - 2GB, 200 minutes

I said I really just want to cut my monthly bills down, could they offer 2GB and 100 minutes but they couldn't.
  • I'm approaching the end of my current contract, and I'm eyeing up the £8/8GB or £10/12GB deals from 3 (either one is really attractive, especially with their roaming package and Qudico). My current contract doesn't actually end until the beginning of April though. Is there a way to lock in the deal now, ie. ordering the SIM now but not actually using it until closer to the date?

I was on the phone to EE there.  Last year, I got 2GB data unlimited minutes and texts at £8 per month, which I wasn't overly happy with but I took it just to shave a bit of the price I was paying and thought it might give me more leverage to get a better deal this time.  I got offered 6GB for £10, which is pathetic beside the deals like the one mentioned here and a few others.  I don't think I'm being unreasonable especially after I have been with them for years.  I tried to get a deal for my mum, who doesn't use quite as much data as me but they only offered her 4GB at £8 while she is getting 7GB for £7.  I might have taken it but knowing these deals are on offer, it doesn't sit well.  So I have requested both our PAC codes.  Our contracts don't end until the 3rd of next month and we don't want to pay to leave early so I'll just use the PACS on the 3rd if I don't get the deals I want for us from EE.  If they even dropped the price for the 4GB data I could have lived with that but I am very disappointed.
  • Just a comment.  I surely am in a common situation that the reason for wanting to upgrade from PAYG to SIM only is that I have a new phone. The new phone has a different size SIM so I was worried when I went through the purchasing process (with Virgin) that it didn't ask what SIM I wanted.  I spent ages trying to work this out with their online chat agent, who went round the houses without helping me.  But then I went back and started my order again and I needn't have worried - I saw that the SIM they send is actually a "multi-SIM", i.e. it has one of each size.
  • Anyone signed up to the O2 deal via www.mobiles.co.uk.  I'm looking at the one for unlimited minutes and texts along with 20gb of data for £11.67 over 12 months.
I know it's through O2 @ £20.00 per month, but anyone had issues getting the cheque for £100 sent to them from www.mobiles after the 38 days?
Also, any other issues at all with them/the deal?
    Thanks all

Anyone?   Even anyone signing up to www.mobiles for other deals where they have to send you a cashback cheque?
Just need to know that they are genuine and sending cheques as promised?
